Objective To investigate the expressions of transferrin receptor (TfR) mRNA, ferritin(Fn) mRNA and iron regulatory proteinl (IRP-1) mRNA in the placentas complicated with fetal iron deficiency(ID). Methods Depending on the cord SF,the subjects were divided to fetal ID group and fetal iron sufficient( IS) group. TfR mRNA, Fn mRNA and IRP - 1 mRNA in placentas were measured by RT - PCR. Results 1. The expression of TfR mRNA in ID group was 1.10 ? 0. 26, it was significantly higher than that in IS group (t=0.028 P0.05) ;4. TfR mRNA and Fn mRNA correlated with fetal IS respectively. Conclusion Fetal ID induces highly expressed TfR mRNA and lower level of Fn mRNA to furthest satisfy the iron need for fetus.

Objective To investigate the effect of macrophage-conditioned medium on the growth of mouse myoblasts. Methods After a 3-day intraperitoneal injection with a mixture of muscle homogenate and starch,macrophages were obtained from mouse peritoneal cavity and cultured for 48 hours in serum-free DMEM/F12.Then the cultured medium was harvested.Myoblasts were obtained from newborn mice skeletal muscle and grown in DMEM/F12 supplied with 10% FBS for 36-48 hours,and then exposed to 0.5% FBS medium with or without macrophage-conditioned medium.Cells were harvested at 72 hours later,their growth was observed with Wright staining,LDH cytochemistry and immunocytochemistry. Results Macrophage-conditioned medium can maintain the normal morphology and the activity of myoblasts grown in low concentration of serum and promote their proliferation.There was a significant difference between average absorbance and integral absorbance of LDH positive cells of the two groups(P

ObjectiveTo study the clinical features, arterial involvement, therapeutic strategies and outcomes of Takayasu arteritis (TA). MethodsThe clinical symptoms, arterial images, inflammatory parameters and follow-up information of 173 patients with TA were retrospectively studied. Comparisons between groups were performed by t-test. ResultsThere were 136 female and 37 male patients in this study. The mean age at onset was(26±11 ) years. Hypertension, pulse deficit or asymmetrical pulse, and fever were present in 46.6％, 41.1％, 28.7％ of patients, respectively. The distribution of arterial involvement were 64.7％in aorta, 9.8％ in pulmonary artery, 19.1％ in innominate artery, 65.9％ in common carotid arteries, 65.3％in the subclavian artery, 36.2％ in the renal artery, 12.1％ in the vertebral artery, and 5.8％ in coeliac axis.Elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) was found in 61.0％ patients. Active tuberculosis or history of tuberculosis was implicated in 45 patients(26.0％). Ten patients(5.8％) were hepatitis B virus carriers.Among 105 followed-up patients, 98 patients(94.2％) achieved persistent remission, 17 patients relapsed when corticosteroids were tapered. ConclusionCorticosteroids combined with or steroid alone, supplemented with endovascular intervention procedures or surgical bypass procedures when necessary, can effectively control the clinical symptoms and inflammatory parameters and improve the quality of life of patients.

ObjectiveTo explore the new rehabilitation model of medication combined with education of cerebral palsy.MethodsThe cross-professionals were organized to assess and observe 126 children with cerebral palsy. Then, individual education plan (IEP) combined with medication, family, feeding was made and performed.ResultsAfter educational rehabilitation, the children with cerebral palsy got improvement in intellection, social adaptation, communion aspiration, thinking and etc. They became more cooperated in medical rehabilitation.ConclusionInterdisciplinary cooperation, IEP, participation of parents are the conditions for success of medical rehabilitation combined with education.

Erectile dysfunction is common complication of diabetes mellitus. The incidence of diabetes mellitus induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is 20% - 75%. DMED appears to be due to vascular-neuropathic and corpus cavernosum smooth muscular damage. To control blood glucose, blood pressure and blood lipids is the basis of DMED therapy. In 50% of the patients with DMED, the phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors is effective, while intracavernous pharmacotherapy is effective for more than 90%. Penile prosthesis implantation continues to be the treatment of choice in case of other therapy failure.
