Background Posterior capsular opacification (PCO)affects the pseudoaccommodation of 1CU accommodative intraocular lens (1CU AIOL).At present, few studies on the effect of PCO and Nd∶ YAG laser capsulotomy on intraocular shifting of 1CU AIOL are published. Objective The present study was to evaluate the effect of PCO and Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy on the shifting of 1CU AIOL.Methods A respective serial caseobservational study was designed.Written informed consent was obtained from each patient prior to this study.Twentyfour eyes of 20 patients with PCO after phacoemulsification and implantation of 1CU AIOL were included in this study.Ocular examination was performed 3 months after IOL implantation,1 day before Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy and 3 months after Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy to evaluate the distance corrected near visual acuity(DCNVA).The difference in the anterior chamber depths before and after administering 1% pilocarpine topical eye drops was measured with the IOLMaster to determine the intraocular shifts of the IOL.The extent of IOL shifting was compared among 3 time points to assess the factors influencing IOL accommodation after 1CU AIOL implantation. Results The shifting amplitude of 1CU AIOL was(0.44±0.21)mm 3 months after implantation of 1CU AIOL,(0.27±0.11)mm 1 day before Nd ∶ YAG laser capsulotomy, and (0.34±0.10) mm 3 months after Nd ∶ YAG laser capsulotomy, showing a significant difference among them(F=7.180,P=0.001).The shifting amplitude of 1CU AIOL significantly declined 1 day before Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy in comparison with 3 months after implantation of 1 CU AIOL(P =0.006).The shifting amplitude 3 months after Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy increased slightly in comparison with 1 day before Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy(P=0.059).DCNVA was(3.1±0.9)J 3 months after implantation of 1CU AIOL,(6.2±0.8) J 1 day before Nd ∶ YAG laser capsulotomy and(3.4±0.7) J 3 months after Nd ∶ YAG laser capsulotomy, with a significant difference among them (F =110.270,P =0.000).DCNVA was lower 1 day before Nd∶ YAG laser capsulotomy than 3 months after implantation of 1CU AIOL(P<0.05).However,DCNVA was higher 3 months after Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy than that of 1 day before Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy (P<0.05).There was no significant correlations between DCNVA and IOL movement 3 months after IOL implantation,1 day before Nd∶ YAG laser capsulotomy and 3 months after Nd ∶ YAG laser capsulotomy (r1 =-0.150,P1 =0.486,r2 =-0.320,P2 =0.122,r3 =-0.100,P3 =0.633).Conclusions The shifting amplitude of 1CU AIOL markedly declines due to PCO.No clinically significant influence of Nd ∶ YAG laser capsulotomy on the shifting amplitude of 1 CU AIOL is found.DCNVA can improve after Nd∶YAG laser capsulotomy.Multiple inter-related factors concerning pseudophakic accommodation may influence DCNVA.

Hypertension is one of main risk factors for the occurrence and death of stroke and coronary heart disease. Its prevalence rate is rising year by year. It severely threatens the health of the human beings. The acupuncture method of "activating blood and dispersing wind, harmonizing Gan-Pi" for treating hypertension launched by Academician SHI Xue-min has aroused great attention due to good cur- ative effect and less adverse reactions. In this paper principles of the circular motion covered by the acupuncture method of "activating blood and dispersing wind, harmonizing Gan-Pi" were clarified.

Objective:To remove murine embryonic stem cells(mESC)from the differentiating cell culture and purify the differentiated cells by Magnetic Activated Cell Sorting(MACS).Methods:Neural differentiation of mESC was induced by a 5-stage method. The specific cell surface marker,SSEA-1,was used to identify ES cells in the differentiating cells. The optimal dilutions of mouse anti mouse SSEA-1 IgM primary antibody and FITC conjugated goat anti mouse secondary antibody were determined before the flow cytometry test. The incubation time and incubation temperature of primary antibody were all optimized to make the cytometry test accurate. After the optimization, stage 4 cells were dissociated into single cell suspension, incubated with antibody of SSEA-1 and microbeads conjugated goat anti mouse IgM,and then sorted through the magnetic field. The rate of SSEA-1 positive cells in pre-and post-separation groups was assessed by flow cytometry, and the viability of cells was evaluated by trypan blue staining counting under light microscopy. Results:The proportion of SSEA-1 positive cells in the separated cells can be reduced from(7.19?1.36)% to(1.34?0.80)%.The survival rate of sorted cells was more than 92%,similar to that of pre-separation cells. Conclusions:The MACS system we used can effectively remove mESC from the differentiated cells. The sorted cells will be well provided for the subsequent studies about transplantation therapy.

Abstract: Toxoplasma gondii, an opportunistic pathogenic protozoan, is widely distributed worldwide and can cause
zoonoses, which is a serious threat to human health. Nowadays, the relationship between T. gondii infection and
neuropsychiatric diseases has attracted researchers' attention increasingly. T. gondii infection is related to the pathogenesis of
many neuropsychiatric diseases by affecting the nervous system, such as schizophrenia, depression, Alzheimer's disease, and so
on. This review will focus on the relationship between T. gondii infection and neuropsychiatric diseases and summarizes the
possible mechanisms of disorders resulting from T. gondii infection. It is expected that the study on the related pathogenic
mechanism of T. gondii will lead to new therapeutic directions and feasible solution for the clinical treatment of
neuropsychiatric diseases caused by T. gondii infection.

Objective To determine the utility of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging ( MR DWI ) in detecting tumor necrosis with histological correlation after neoacljuvant chemotherapy. Methods Conventional MRI and DWI were obtained from 36 patients with histological proven esteosarcoma. Magnetic resonance examinations were performed in all patients before and after 4 cycles of preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Apparent diffusion coefficients (ADC) were calculated. The degree of tumor necrosis was assessed using the histological Huvos classification after chemotherapy. T-test was performed for testing changes in ADC value between the 2 groups. P value less than 0. 05 were considered as a statistically significant difference. Results The differences in ADC between viable [ (1.06±0. 30) ×10-3mm2/s ] and necrotic [ (2. 39±0. 44 )×10-3mm2/s] tumor were significant (t= 3. 515,P<0. 05). Changes in ADC value was greater in good responses to neoadjuvant chemotherapy than in poor responses, the ADC value in good responses was increased from (1.18±0. 19)×10-3mm2/s to (2. 27±0. 20)×10-3mm2/s, the corresponding value in poor responses was increased from (1.45± 0.11)×10-3mm2/s to (1.83±0. 16)×10-3mm2/s, There was significant difference in changes of ADC values between good responses and poor responses ( t = 4. 981, P < 0. 01 ). Conclusion Diffusion-weighted MRI permits recognition of tumor necrosis induced by chemotherapy in osteosarcoma. DWI is correlated directly with tumor necrosis. They have potential utility in evaluating the preoperative chemotherapy response in patients with primary osteosarcoma.
