1.Immunoregulation of radix tanshinone on isolated-lung preservation
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2008;15(5):705-706
Objective The study is to investigate the effect of tanshinone on lung reperfusion injury. Methods 24 New-Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into two groups. In one group, the lungs were perfused and preserved with LPD solution, the other with LPD+ tanshinone solution. The isolated lungs were preserved for 18 hours and then reperfused with rewarming whole blood. After reperfusing 30 minutes the lung samples were examined by pathology, wet/dry weight and measure of NO, SOD and MDA. Results In two groups, the reperfusion injury lungs were fresh, but had partial congestion, edema and ecchymoma under naked eye, under light microscopy the structures of the pulmonary vesiculars, branchia and capillaries were complete, but the epithelial cells of the vesicles and capillaries in the LPD group were more swelling and hypertrophy than that in LPD+ tanshinone group. The wet/dry weight ratio was significantly lower in LPD+ tanshinone group than in the LPD group. NO [(2.16±2.15)μmol/g] and SOD [(37.03±18.01NU/mg] were higher in the LPD+ tanshinone group than in the LPD group [(0.68±0.33) μmol/g, (17.63±11.04)NU/mg] (all P<0.05), MDA was lower in the LPD+ tanshinone group [(0.47±0.20)μmol/mg] than in the LPD group [(0.86±0.44)μmol/mg] (P<0.05). Conclusions Tanshinone can dean oxygen free radical and is of stronger antioxidation, results in alleriating of lung reperfusing injury. Tanshinone has positive effect on preservative quality of the reperfusion injury lung.

Chinese Medical Ethics 1994;0(06):-
Based on their multiple years of personal experiences in hospital administration, authors of this article point out that medical service, humanistic service, and emotional service should be the core aspects in the current hospital competition.Medical professionalism embodied in the three levels of consciousness, behaviors, and regulations should be the main subject in the research on the role of medical ethics in hospital administration and medical treatment behaviors. It is an urgent ethical requirement and the chief task for hospital administrators to achieve humanistic medical service through humanistic administration of hospitals.

Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) is one of the most commonly encountered developmental toxicity, which could lead to perinatal morbidity and mortality, be also extended from the fetus to adulthood, and seriously affect the quality of the population. Caffeine widely exists in a variety of daily beverages and some drugs. Its consumption is increasing year by year. Caffeine intake during pregnancy is one of the risk factors for IUGR. However, its mechanism of adverse outcome based on embryonic research is still unclear. In this paper, the possible mechanisms of caffeine-induced IUGR focusing on 3 important factors-the mother, placenta and fetus were explored. Caffeine's impact on the mother is the chronic activation of renin-angiotensin system; on the placenta, caffeine induces cell damage or the failure of the cell proliferation/apoptosis balance, leading to blockage of blood supply to the placenta; caffeine is also capable of directly affecting fetal development through interfering its neuroendocrine.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(17):-
Objective To study the influence of valproate sodium(VPA)on neuroprotective effects of topiramate(TPM).Methods For-ty-eight 3-4 week-old male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups of 12 rats each.Group A was negative control rats, and groups B-D were rat model of epilepsy, induced by pentylenetetrazol(PTZ).The rats in 2 experimental groups were adminstered intragastrically with TPM 40 mg/kg and TPM 40 mg/kg+ VPA 200 mg/kg;2 control groups(groups A and B)with the equal amount of distilled water administration. After 2-month administration, changes of the behavior, levels of serum neuron-specific enolase(NSE)and the pathological in hippocampus were examined. Results The level of NSE in the group of TPM were significantly lower than that in masculine group, but no difference between masculine group and the TPM plus VPA.The pathological change in hippocampus were abatement in the group of TPM.Conclusion TPM plus high dosage of VPA will impaire the neuroprotective effects of TPM.
