Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(9):557-557
ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficacy of intracoronary stenting for senile patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods42 senile patients with AMI underwent intracoronary stenting were analysed. Before and after stenting, the changes of the patients' blood pressures, heart rates and cardiac functions tested by ultrasonography were observed.Results45 intracoronary stents were implanted in 42 patients, one patient falled during hospitalization. The blood pressure was increased significantly, the heart rate decreased and the candiac function improved after stenting.ConclusionIntracoronary stenting is a very effective and safe therapy for the senile patients with AMI.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1993;0(03):-
Objective To detect the type of gene mutation of thalassemia in Kunming city. Methods Sixty-three cases highly suspec-tive of thalassemia were determined with the methods of ploymerase chain reaction(PCR) and reverse dot blot(RDB) for the type of gene mutation. Results According to gene analysis,35 cases were final diagnosed from 63 cases suspective of thalassemia.Among the total,4 cases were gene deficiency ?-thalassemia,and 30 cases were gene deficiency ?-thalassemia,and there was 1 case both ?-thalassemia and ?-thalassemia.There were 9 types of gene mutation with 15 gene combinations in 35 samples. The main type of ?-thalassemia was--SEA/??,there were 6 types with 11 gene combinations from the types of genes of ?-thalassemia,the highest incidence of gene mutation was 17 site, including 17 site homozygote, heterozygote and double heterozygote. Conclusions The thalassemia invasion of Yunnan has its characters, and it is valuable to launch further research. In the same patient, there are ?-thalassemia and ?-thalassemia,it signifies that those 2 types should be diagnosed in the same time,to prevent missed diagnosis.

Objective To reveal and forecast the incidence trend of Brucellosis, in order to provide acientific basis for future intervention and policy-making. Methods Descriptive epidemiological method was used to analyze and statistically describe the distribution of the disease in different times, different locations and different (7.0783/10 million to 13.1257/10 million) and Qingxu ( 1.4811/10 million to 8.5241/10 million) were higher, followed by Yangqu county(0 to 5.8232/10 million), Xiaodian(0.8108/l0 million to 2.4229/10 million) and Jinyuan district ( 0.5329/ 10 million to 1.5896/10 million), and the remaining counties(districts) in the annual There were 223 cases of Brucellosis patients from 2006 to 2009 in Taiyuan. Vocational high risk population was farmers, with a total of 140 cases, accounting for 62.78% of the total number of incidence, followed by students and workers, respectively, 13, 14 cases, accounting for 5.83% and 6.28%, other occupational groups, 56 cases,77.58%;28 cases aged above 60 years, accounting for 12.56%;22 cases aged younger than 19 years, accounting identical in the four years, most cases occurred in spring and summer and showing a clear seasonal high. Conclusions The incidence trend of Brucellosis is on the rise from 2006 to 2009. High risk population is farmer, and the number of younger patients is on the rise, we propose strengthen protection for high risk groups.

Objective To investigate the expression of caspase-10 in differentiated thyroid carcinoma and association with its development and metastasis. Methods Thyroid samples from 37 patients in a period from January 2006 to December 2007, with differentiated thyroid carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed for caspase-10 by immunohistocbemistry(streptavidin-perosidase, S-P), compared to control group of 46 cases with nodtdar goiter. The relationship between the expression of caspase-10 and the clinical pathologic characteristics of thyroid carcinoma were also explored simultaneously. Results caspase-10 were observed as brown or yellow particles located in the cytoplasm or cell membrane of nodular goiter but there were no significant evidence for its positive expression in thyroid carcinoma, caspase-10 expression was markedly down-regulated in differentiated thyroid carcinoma(29.73%,11/37) compared with benign nodules(71.74%,33/46, χ2=14.528, P<0.01). The positive expression in 18 cases with lymph node metastasis(11.11%,2/18) was significantly lower than those in 19 patients without lymph node metastasis(47.37%,9/19; χ2=4.210, P<0.01). There was no significant correlation(P> 0.05) between the expression of caspase-10 and the clinical pathologic characteristics including male, age, TNM stage and pathologic type. Conclusion Down-regulation of caspase-10 may play a critical role in carcinogenesis and development of differentiated thyroid carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the inhibition effect of Minocycline on hippocampal microglia in epileptic rats. Methods Forty male SD rats were equally randomized into normal saline control group (NS), penicillin inducement group, Minocycline post-treatment group and Minocycline pre-treatment group (n=10). Rat epilepsy models in the later 3 groups were induced by intraperitoneal injection of penicillin G at a dosage of 740 million to 7.6 million units/kg. The level of hippocampal microglia in rats of the 4 groups on the 1st and 3rd d of inducement was detected by immunofluorescence and the tumor growth factor-α (TNF-α) protein level was detected by Western blotting on the 1st and 3rd d of inducement. Results Seizure could activate microglia. As compared with those in rats of the penicillin inducement group, the activation and hyperplasia of microglia in the hippoeampus in rats of the minoeyeline post- and pre-treatment groups were obviously inhibited on the 1st and 3rd d of inducement (P≤0.05), and the effects were much obvious in the pretreatment group. The level of TNF-α protein in the penicillin inducement group, minoeycline post- and pre-treatment groups was significantly higher than that in the NS group on the 1st and 3rd d of inducement (P≤0.05); as compared with that in the penicillin inducement group, the level of TNF-α protein in the minocycline post- and pre-treatment groups decreased significantly on the 1st and 3rd of inducement (P≤0.05), especially that in the pretreatment group. Conclusion Minocycline can effectively inhibit the activation and hyperplasia of hippocampal microglia and the releasing of inflammatory factor TNF-αt in epileptic rats.

AIMTo observe the degree of gastric mucosal injury following limb ischemia/reperfusion (LI/R), and to investigate the mechanism of gastric mucosal injury and the protection of ischemic preconditioning (IPC) on gastric mucosal injury.
METHODSThe model rats which underwent 4 hours of ischemia and 4 hours of reperfusion of hind limbs were made. Then we respectively observed and determined the histologic lesion score after I/R and IPC + I/R. The gastric barrier mucus in mucus were measured in different groups. The values of MPO, SOD, MDA and XOD in gastric mucosa and the values of MDA, XOD, SOD, LDH in plasma were detected.
RESULTSIn the LI/R group, the histologic lesion score increased significantly. The content of gastric barrier mucus in mucus decreased significantly. The value of MPO, MDA, XOD in gastric mucosa and the values of MDA, XOD, LDH in plasma increased remarkably and SOD activity in gastric mucosa and in plasma decreased. However in the IPC group, the histologic lesion score decreased significantly and the content of gastric barrier mucus in mucus increased significantly and the value of MPO MDA XOD LDH in gastric mucosa or in plasma decreased remarkably and the SOD activity increased compared to LI/R group.
CONCLUSIONLI/R will lead to the development of stress ulcer, oxygen free radicals play an important role in it. IPC can alleviate the damage of gastric mucosa following ischemia/reperfusion of hind limbs. The decrease of OFR is one of the protection mechanism of IPC.
