Objective To discuss the clinical significance of nephroscopic surgery for simple renal cysts. Methods A 2~4 cm incision was made below the 12th costal interspace. Through the incision the nephroscopic decortication was performed in 26 patients with simple renal cyst. Results The operation time was 20~80 min (mean, 30 min) and the postoperative hospital stay, 3~)6 days (mean, 4 days). No blood transfusion was required and no severe complications were noted. Follow-up observations for 3~)12 months (mean, 8 months) in the 26 patients found no recurrence. Conclusions Mini-incision nephroscopic decortication for renal cysts is feasible and mini-invasive, with advantages of simplicity of performance and quick postoperative recovery.

This is the first report of the sensitizing effect of cation surfactant on the enhanced resonance light scattering (RLS) resulted from the interaction of organic dyes with Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). On the conditions of pH 10.4 ~11.8 and ionic strength being less than 0.050, the interaction of brilliant green (BG) with DNA results in enhanced RLS signals at 398.0 and 467.2 nm overloaded some shoulder peaks in the enhanced region. It was found that the interaction was sensitized by the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB). If 2.0~3.2×10-5 mol/L CMAB was used in the interacting medium, DNA in the range of 0~1.2 (mg/L could be detected with the limit of detection being less than 5 μg/L. Four synthetic samples were analyed with reproducibility

BACKGROUND: Coffee is commonly consumed among young people in China. However, consumers are rarely aware of physicaly adverse effects as a result of excessive consumption of caffeine. DATA SOURCES: A literature search using multiple databases was performed for articles published with concentration on meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled trials. RESULTS: Excess coffee consumption is also a risk of primary cardiac arrest especially in young people. Treatment modalities include activated charcoals, beta-blockers, vasopressin and hemodialysis when necessary. CONCLUSION: Coffee consumers should be advised not to routinely take more than moderate coffee.

Clinical Medicine of China 2009;25(5):523-525
Objective To explore the therapeutic efficacy of posterior internal fixation and anterior debride-ment with autogenous bone grafts at one stage on tuberculosis of thoracic or lumbar spine . Methods 16 cases of thoracic or lumbar spinal tuberculosis patients were treated with combined anterior (radical debridement and bone autograft) and posterior (instrumentation) surgeries in one stage between September 2003 and September 2007. The degree of the kyphosis (Cobb angle) was measured and the interbody fusion was observed preoperatively and postop-eratively. The ASIA grading system was used to assess the neurological status. Results All patients were followed up for 10 months to 36 months,on average of 12 months. All patients showed sucessful interbedy fusion, but Cobb angle was not progressed. No recurrence or wound infection was found. 6 cases all got nerve function recovery. Conclusion Thoracic or lumbar tuberculosis treated with this surgical technique can achieve stable internal fixation and a high satisfactory rate with restoring the spinal stability, arresting the disease early, providing early fusion, correcting the ky-pbosis particularly.

Objective To explore whether an individual' s intention to gamble varied across different types of gambling. Methods A total of 373 Macau students completed a questionnaire survey on intention to gamble dealing with thirteen types of gambling, and exploratory factor analyses were conducted. Results The analyses showed two factors that had eigenvalues greater than one and explained a total of 59. 455 percent of the variance, with the largest factor explaining 32.59 percent. Participants' intentions to gamble were relatively lower in gambles of low counterparty with mean scores varying from ( 1.62 ± 1.13 ) to ( 2.20 ± 1.35 ), while the intentions were higher in gambles of high counterparty with mean scores varying from ( 2.34 ± 1. 39 ) to ( 3.02 ± 1.55 ). Conclusion Respondents' degree of intention to gamble was highly domain-specific, varying with the type of gambling. An individual' s intention to gamble is not consistent across all content domains, which implied that a potential gambler is not necessarily intended to gamble in all types of gambling.

Cyclodextrin(CD) is gradually applied in the nonviral gene vector system, due to its biocompatibility and flexibility of tailing via structural modification, polymerization or supramolecular combination. The ideas and research progress of the CD,its low molecular derivatives,CD polymers and CD supramolecular combination in the field of norviral gene vectros were reviewed, and their "structure-safety-transfection efficiency" relationships were discussed.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1986;0(01):-
Objective To evaluate the therapy and turnover of Kawasaki disease(KD)with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PD)deficiency.Methods Six hundred and twenty-four patients with KD were selected including 32 patients who had G-6-PD defected. The same dose intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG)was used in all 624 patients(2 g/kg),but used Dipyridamole in 32 patients had G-6-PD deficiency which replaced the role of acetylsalicylic acid(ASA)after acute period. The coronary artery of these patients were checked and followed-up through echocardiograph. The turnover of 32 patients with G-6-PD deficiency and 356 case selected randomly from all the KD patients were compared.SPSS 10.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results In 32 cases of KD with G-6-PD deficiency,4 children had coronary aneurysm(12.5%).After 6-12 months follow-up,the coronary lesions were recovered in 62.5% children, improved in 21.9% children and not improved in 15.6% childern, which were not significantly different from all the KD patients(Z=-1.604 P=1.09).Conclusions IVIG and Dipyridamole are feasible in treating KD with G-6-PD deficiency.J Appl Clin Pediatr,2009,24(1):26-27
