2.Construction of evaluation index system for military medical novelty retrieval organi-zations

The paper constructs the evaluation index system for novelty retrieval organizations according to the demand of quality evaluation in these organizations .This index system and its weight coefficients were determined using Delphi and Analytical Hierarchy Process ( AHP) methods.The whole evaluation index system based on novelty retrieval regulations , comprises of four first-level indicators and fourteen second-level indicators .The index system facilitates the construction of novelty retrieval organizations and the improvement of novelty retrieval quality .It also provides reference for setting evalua-tion standards of military medical novelty retrieval organizations .
3.Clinical and pathological features of nonfunctional pituitary adenomas: Analysis of 220 cases

A retrospective analysis was carried out in 220 cases of nonfunctional pituitary adenoma (NFA).The diagnosis was based on negative immunohistochemical staining,no elevation of plasma hormone level,and no symptom caused by increased hormone level.Incidence of NFA was the highest(33.13%) among the pituitary tumors.It was more common in males than in females (132 ∶ 88).The highest prevalence resided in the elder group.N FA often caused pituitary apoplexy,and mainly presented as compression symptoms including visual field abnormalities (85.00%),headache (80%),hypopsia (68.66%),and other symptoms of hypopituitarism (44.04%).Imaging features showed tumor size usually within 2-4 cm (71.82%),and aggregated degree Ⅲ or Ⅳ (83.64%).

5.Compatibility Rules of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Prevention and Treatment of Scleroderma Based on Data Mining

This study was aimed to analyze compatibility rules of Chinese drugs and prescription design in the pre-vention and treatment of scleroderma. The database of scleroderma treated by Chinese medicine was set up. And then, association rules were used to analyze the prescription compatibility rules. The results showed the highest fre-quency of drugs in the treatment of scleroderma were Astragalus, Angelica sinensis and Salvia. The tonifying and re-plenishing medicinal, blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicinal and exterior-releasing medicinal were with the highest frequency. The commonly used formula in the treatment of scleroderma was Y ang-He decoction. For herbal groups, occurrence of the highest was the combinations of Ramulus Cinnamomi-Astragalus and Carthamus tinctorius L.-Astragalus. Three kinds of herbals were commonly coupled, such as Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. and Caulis Spatholobi with Salvia, P. multiflorum Thunb. and R. Cinnamomi with Salvia, P. multiflorum Thunb. and Astragalus with Salvia, prepared Radix Rehmanniae and Codonopsis with C. tinctorius L., prepared Radix Rehmanniae and Codonopsis with R. Cinnamomi, Codonopsis and Radix paeoniae rubra with R. Cinnamomi. Four kinds of herbals such as R. Cinnamomi, Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch., Astragalus and Codonopsis were commonly coupled. It was con-cluded that compatibility rules of Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of scleroderma laid the founda-tion for herbal medicine selection and prescription design.
6.Protection against Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Rats by Pretreatment with Paeoniflorin

Objective:To investigate the protective effects of paeoniflorin on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion ( MI/R) injury in rats. Methods:The rat model of MI/R injury was prepared by coronary artery ligation for 30 min followed by 2-hour reperfusion. Then the rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:sham group, model group, paeoniflorin group respectively at high, medium and low dose (20, 10 and 5 mg·kg-1, n=10). Paeoniflorin was respectively injected via tail vein 1 h before the operation and at the beginning of the reperfusion. The CK, LDH and SOD activities and MDA contents in serum of rats were examined, and the area of myocardial in-farction was also calculated after the reperfusion. Results:Paeoniflorin (20 and 10 mg·kg-1 ) could significantly reduce the area of myocardial infarction when compared with the model group (P<0. 05). Paeoniflorin could obviously inhibit the CK and LDH activities (P<0. 05 or P<0. 01) and enhance the SOD activity (P<0. 01) in serum of MI/R rats. The MDA content in paeoniflorin groups at high and medium dose was significantly lower than that in the model group (P<0. 05). Conclusion:Paeoniflorin pretreatment shows effectiveness against MI/R injury, which may be associated with the inhibition of lipid peroxidation.
7.The modulatory effect of Chinese herb substances BP on apoptosis of lymphocytes in the elderly

Objective:To study the changes of lymphocytes subpopulation and apoptosis process of lymphocytes in the elderly and to investigate the modulatory effect of BP from Chinese herb on apoptosis.Methods:Lymphocytes phenotype were determinated using indirect immunofluorescence technique.The proliferative responses were measured with MTT method.Apoptosis of lymphocytes was evaluated by flow cytometry and automatic image analysis.Results:The proliferative responses of lymphocytes in the elderly were lower than that of young adults.Decreased CD45RA positive cells and increased CD 45 RO positive cells were found in lymphocytes population of aged people compared to that of young adults. The CD 45 PO positive cells were prone to apoptosis.There is an imhibitory effect of BP on apoptosis of lymphocytes in the elderly.Conclusion:It was implicated that the susceptibility of lymphocyte in the elderly to apoptosis depends on activation,so called activation induced cell death.Present results suggested that apoptosis of lymphocytes of aged people play an important role in the pathogenesis of immunosenescence.The possibility appeared for development of modulatory drugs on apoptosis from Chinese herbs.

9.An epidemiological analysis of pituitary apoplexy

Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of pituitary apoplexy and investigate the changes and features of endocrine hormones caused by pituitary apoplexy.Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical and laboratory data of pituitary tumor and pituitary apoplexy was carried out.Results (1) The incidence of pituitary apoplexy was 31.78%,patients were 15-75 (47.5 ± 11.7) year old,most patients were female.(2)Diabetes,coronary heart disease,menopausal hormone therapy,radiotherapy,surgery,and bromocriptine administration may be related to pituitary apoplexy.(3) There was high incidence of apoplexy in nonfunctioning adenoma.(4) According to the relationship between apoplexy and pituitary tumor,cases with pituitary apoplexy were divided into 5 types.(5) Pituitary apoplexy was associated with low serum creatinine,hypernatremia,hyperchloremia,hypoeosinophilia,and hypobasophilia.(6) 61.61% of the patients had pituitary hormone deficiency,especially the GnH deficiency.(7)98.10% of the patients were treated by surgery.Conclusion Pituitary apoplexy has its own clinical characteristics,and more attention should be paid in clinical practice.
