OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of the "Three-Step Nine-Method Lumbar Correction" combined with physical therapy in the treatment of patients with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis(DLS). METHODS: From January 2021 to December 2021, 72 patients diagnosed with DLS were enrolled and divided into the Three-Step Nine-Method Lumbar Correction group and the pelvic traction group, with 36 cases in each group. In the Three-Step Nine-Method Lumbar Correction group, there were 15 males and 21 females;aged 54 to 66 years old, with an average of (59.07±5.69) years old;the course of disease was 14 to 26 years old, with an average of (20.35±5.66) years old. They were treated with the Three-Step Nine-Method Lumbar Correction combined with low-frequency physical therapy, 3 times a week, for a 4-week course. In the pelvic traction group, there were 12 males and 24 females;aged 54 to 66 years old, with an average of (59.69±5.59) years old;the course of disease was 13 to 26 years old, with an average of (19.74±5.80) years old. They were treated with pelvic traction combined with low-frequency physical therapy. Efficacy evaluation was conducted using the visual analogue scale(VAS), Oswestry disability index(ODI), Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score, and Short Form 36 Health Survey (SF-36) before treatment, after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, and at the 8-week follow-up after the end of treatment. In addition, imaging parameters of paravertebral muscles were evaluated before treatment and at the completion of treatment. RESULTS: All 72 patients completed the follow-up for 8 weeks. At the 8-week follow-up after the end of treatment, in the Three-Step Nine-Method Lumbar Correction group, the VAS score for low back pain decreased from (6.25±1.23) points before treatment to (1.25±0.65) points, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05);the ODI decreased from (57.17±7.13)% before treatment to (19.89±5.66)%, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05);the JOA score and SF-36 score increased from (15.46±3.20) points and (35.25±9.28) points before treatment to (23.75±2.10) points and (62.31±13.03) points, respectively, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The improvement of each index in the Three-Step Nine-Method Lumbar Correction group was better than that in the pelvic traction group (P<0.05), but the change in imaging parameters was not significant (P>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05), and no serious adverse events occurred. CONCLUSION The Three-Step Nine-Method Lumbar Correction combined with physical therapy has a definite efficacy in the treatment of DLS. It can significantly relieve pain symptoms, improve physical function and patients' quality of life. Its effect is better than that of pelvic traction combined with physical therapy, and it has high safety. However, its improvement on paravertebral muscles is not obvious.

OBJECTIVE: To detect the expression of methyltransferase-like 7B ( METTL7B) in bone marrow specimens of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and to analyze its influence and significance on clinical diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of AML patients. METHODS: Bone marrow specimens from 60 newly diagnosed AML patients were collected as the observation group, and bone marrow specimens from 20 iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) patients were collected as the control group. Clinical and pathological data of AML patients were also collected. Real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression of METTL7B in AML patients and IDA patients. Statistical analyses were performed to investigate the relationship between the expression level of METTL7B and clinical-pathological characteristics in AML patients, as well as the impact of METTL7B expression level on efficacy. Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the effect of METTL7B expression level on the overall survival time (OS) in AML patients. Meanwhile, a Cox proportional hazards regression model was constructed to identify the factors potentially affecting the prognosis of AML patients. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the expression level of METTL7B was significantly upregulated in AML patients (P < 0.05). Compared with the low-expression group of METTL7B, the high-expression group had a higher proportion of patients with high white blood cell (WBC) count, poor prognosis, and ineffective treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The OS of patients in the high-expression group of METTL7B was significantly shorter than that in the low-expression group (P < 0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that high WBC count, poor prognosis in prognosis stratification, and high expression of METTL7B were independent risk factors for the prognosis of AML patients (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION METTL7B is highly expressed in AML patients, and patients with high METTL7B expression exhibit shorter survival and poor prognosis. METTL7B is expected to serve as a new indicator for evaluating the prognosis of AML patients and may develop into a potential target for targeted treatment of AML in the future.

Objective To construct a set of graduation internship curriculum system suitable for undergraduate students majoring in biomedical engineering to facilitate standardizing the curriculum system of biomedical engineering major.Methods An initial version of the curriculum system was established with the way of letter and the methods of questionnaire survey,Delphi,expert interview and expert brainstorming;then the initial version was adjusted and refined using 2 rounds of expert consultation to form a set of curriculum system for graduation internship for undergraduate students majoring in biomedical engineering,and the curriculum system was validated.Results The curriculum system included 5 first-level catalogs,11 second-level catalogs and 39 third-level catalogs;the 36 third-level catalogs had a curriculum compliance rate of 0.85 to 0.97.Conclusion The curriculum system constructed can be used for graduation internship of biomedical engineering undergraduates,and references are provided for developing standardized and generally applicable graduation internship curriculum system for biomedical engineering undergraduates.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2024,45(9):89-94]

Objective:To explore the efficacy and safety of haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation combined with umbilical cord blood infusion for the treatment of aplastic anaemia in children.Methods:Nine cases of children with aplastic anaemia treated with umbilical cord blood combined with haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation at the People's Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine from January 1,2021 to September 15,2023 with a median age of 11(2-13)years and a median follow up of 18(7.5-21)months were included,and the clinical data were retrospectively analyzed.Hematopoiesis reconstitution,the incidence of graft-versus-host disease(GVHD),infections and survival of the patients were analyzed.Results:All 9 children were successfully implanted.The median time to neutrophil and platelet implantation was 11.11±1.27 d and 12.44±3.36 d,respectively.One case developed acute gastrointestinal GVHD of degree I,which was improved after treatment,and the patient developed superficial gastritis and chronic gastrointestinal GVHD at a later stage,which is currently under clinical follow-up.Acute GVHD of Ⅱ-Ⅳ degree was 0％.Hemorrhagic cystitis in 3 cases,CMV infection in 5 cases and bacterial and fungal infections in 5 cases improved with symptomatic treatment.All 9 children demonstrated complete donor chimerism within 1 month after transplantation,at two years of follow-up,all nine children survived without recurrence or development of grade Ⅱ-Ⅳ GVHD,and there were no children with transplant-related deaths.Conclusion:Haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation combined with umbilical cord blood transfusion for aplastic anaemia in children has a low incidence and mild degree of GVHD,with significant efficacy,and can be used as a therapeutic option for children without an HLA full donor chimeric match.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of"triple-posture positive bone-setting"chiropractic manipulation combined with Tongluo Huoxue Formula for the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis(LSS)with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome.Methods Sixty patients with LSS of qi deficiency and blood stasis type were randomly divided into trial group and control group,with 30 cases in each group.The trial group was treated with"triple-posture positive bone-setting"chiropractic manipulation(a chiropractic manipulation performed under the positive cooperation of the patients at three postures)combined with Tongluo Huoxue Formula,while the control group was treated with"triple-posture positive bone-setting"chiropractic manipulation combined with conventional western medicine.The course of treatment for the two groups covered 4 weeks.Before and after treatment,the patients of the two groups were observed in the changes of pain visual analogue scale(VAS)score,Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)score of lumbar function,Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)score,straight-leg raising test results and serum interleukin 6(IL-6)and C-reactive protein(CRP)levels.After treatment,the clinical efficacy and safety of the two groups were evaluated.Results(1)After 4 weeks of treatment,the total effective rate of the trial group was 96.67％(29/30)and that of the control group was 63.33％(19/30).The intergroup comparison(tested by Fisher's exact test)showed that the clinical efficacy of the trial group was significantly superior to that of the control group(P＜0.05).(2)After treatment,the lumbar function indicators of pain VAS scores and ODI scores in the trial group were significantly lower(P＜0.05),and the JOA scores were significantly higher than those before treatment(P＜0.05),while in the control group,only the ODI scores were significantly lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05).The intergroup comparison showed that the decrease of VAS and ODI scores and the increase of JOA scores in the trial group were significantly superior to those in the control group(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).(3)After treatment,the Laseque s sign of the trial group was significantly improved compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05),while no significant improvement was presented in the control group(P＞0.05).The intergroup comparison showed that the improvement of Laseque's sign in the trial group was significantly superior to that in the control group(P＜0.01).(4)After treatment,the levels of serum inflammatory factors of IL-6 and CRP in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05),and the decrease of serum IL-6 level in the trial group was significantly superior to that in the control group(P＜0.05),but CRP level in the two groups after treatment did not differ from that before treatment,no statistically significant difference was shown between the two groups after treatment,either(P＞0.05).(5)The incidence of adverse reactions in the trial group was 6.67％(2/30)and that in the control group was 13.33％(4/30),and the intergroup comparison(by Fisher's exact test)showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of"triple-posture positive bone-setting"chiropractic manipulation combined with Tongluo Huoxue Formula exert certain effect for the treatment of LSS patients with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,and it has more obvious advantages in improving the lumbar function,promoting the rehabilitation of the patients,and lowering the level of serum inflammatory factors than"triple-posture positive bone-setting"chiropractic manipulation combined with conventional western medication.

This study focuses on the cases(mainly characterized by respiratory symptoms such as cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat, and nasal congestion)of an outbreak of upper respiratory tract infections in a kindergarten in Jingyuan County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, in May 2023. The epidemiological data were collected, and pharyngeal swab specimens were also obtained from the patients. The specimens of the research participants were subjected to respiratory multi-pathogen testing, and the positive specimens were further analyzed by sequencing the second hypervariable region (HRV2) of the G gene of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and constructing a phylogenetic tree. A total of 90 patients were collected, with an incidence rate of 22.84% (90/394), and the highest incidence was observed in the junior class group at 29.55%. Among the 17 pharyngeal swab specimens collected, 16 specimens were identified with the A subtype of respiratory syncytial virus. Sequencing analysis confirmed that it was the A subtype ON1 genotype. Based on the aforementioned testing results, it can be concluded that the current epidemic was primarily caused by infection with the A subtype of respiratory syncytial virus. Following the implementation of intervention measures, the epidemic has been effectively controlled.

Objective: During the lockdown of cities and home quarantine, media became the only way for people to conveniently get coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19)-related information. And media engagement was closely related to psychological outcomes. But fewer researchers took COVID-19-related posting behaviors into consideration. Therefore, the present study aimed at examining the differences in psychological outcomes between people who posted COVID-19-related content on social media and those who did not. Methods: The present study included 917 participants (304 males, 613 females) who had answered the questionnaires of media engagement, positive affect, negative affect, depression, anxiety, stress, satisfaction with life, death anxiety, and meaning in life. Results: Results of t-tests showed that the Post group had lower levels of negative affect, anxiety, stress, and death anxiety than the Not Post (Npost) group. Network comparison tests indicated that the Npost group’s network and the Post group’s network differed in global strength, two edge-weights, and node centrality indices. Conclusion The results indicated that more attention should be paid to people who did not post any COVID-19-related content, especially when they have higher levels of stress and depression to prevent comorbidities. And for people who posted content, more attention should be paid when they have a higher level of negative affect.

The female infant in this case study was admitted to the hospital 4 hours after birth due to preterm birth and respiratory distress. On the third day after birth, peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PICC) catheterization was performed. On day 42, thrombus was found at the entrance of the right atrium from the inferior vena cava during a cardiac ultrasound, and it was considered to be related to PICC placement. Low-molecular-weight heparin and urokinase were given. After two weeks of treatment, ultrasonic monitoring showed thrombus shrinkage. No bleeding or pulmonary embolism occurred during the treatment. The patient discharged after improvement. This article mainly introduces a multidisciplinary team approach to diagnosis and treatment of PICC-related thrombosis in neonates.
