Objective To study on the relationship of PTEN with clinicopathological parameters and prognosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients. Methods The expression of PTEN was detected in 62 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas by immunohistochemistry.Results(1)PTEN expres- sion is negatively correlated with the depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis,pTNM stage and degree of differentiation.(2)The difference of survival is significant between high and low expres- sion groups. Conclusion PTEN is correlated negatively with the clinicopathological parameters reflecting the malignant biological behavior, and is one of the significant prognostic predictors by univariate analysis.

Objective To investigate prevention and treatment of parastomal hernia. Methods Clinical data of parastomal hernia of 44 cases were analyzed respectively with special respect to clinical features and repair methods. Result Simple sutures were used in 23 cases, mesh repair in 16 cases, stoma relocation plus mesh repair in 5 cases. Postoperative recovery was satisfactory in 39 cases. Incisional infection occurred in 5 cases, and hernia recurrence developed in 3 cases (6.8%) during a follow-up of 6 to 108 months (average 49 months) in 41 patients. Conclusion The causes of parastomal hernia are miscellaneous especially incisional infection; Perioperative malnutrition must be corrected companying diseases properly controlled, and operative technique improved to prevent the incidence of parastomal hernia; Surgery is the only cure for parastomal hernia. Mesh repair and/or stoma relocation is sometimes necessary.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of lamivudine in preventing liver injury induced by anti-tuberculosis drugs in hepatitis B virus(HBV)carriers. Methods One hundred and ten HBV carriers treated with anti-tuberculosis drugs were randomly divided into lamivudine group and control group.Patients in both groups were treated with conventional anti-tuberculosis drugs (isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, streptomycin or ethambutol)for 6-8 months. However, patients in lamivudine group were treated with lamivudine 100 mg orally dairy concomitantly. Before and after treatment, the clinical manifestation, liver function and serum HBV DNA level of patients were evaluated.Statistical analysis was performed using t test and x~2 test. Results During 6-8 months of treatment, the incidence rate of liver injury was 9.1% in lamivudine group, while it was 38.2% in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Lamivudine is effective and safe in reducing liver injury induced by anti-tuberculosis drugs in HBV carriers.

Group A,the differences among the three groups were statistically significant(P0.05). TCR,CCR,DAP,OD,BRC in Groups B and C showed trends of increasing, the differences in terms of the contents of BMP-RⅠamong the 3 phases were statistically significant(P0.05);the ER in Group B and C showed a trend of decreasing, thee difference between 4- and 8-week and 4- and 12-week were signifieantly dif- ferent(P0.05).Conclusion After application of glucocorticoid for a short term, pathological changes maintained and showed trends of inereasing in early stage.HBO can reverse these changes. The outcome of 3-course HBO therapy is better than that of 1-course therapy.

Objective To study the clinical, laboratory, X-ray and the pathological features of Parkinson disease patients with rheumatoid-like deformities. Methods One patient was described and the relevant English literature in recent 50 years were reviewed. Results Rheumatoid-like deformities in Parkinson disease was mostly observed in women. The ratio between male and female was about 1:5.6. Joint deformities occurred after 7.6 years of Parkinson's disease in average. The manifestations of joints included the flexion of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints, hyperextension of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints, flexion of the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joints, and ulnar deviation of wrists and bilateral feet hallux valgus. Whole-blood analysis, biochemistry profile, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C -reactive protein were all in normal range. Rheumatoid factor and ANA, anti-ENA profile, AKA, anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibody and antiperinuclear factor (APF) were all negative. Periarticular erosion was not observed in plaint X -ray films. Synovial pathology showed non -specific infla -mmation without classical syno vial membrane proliferation and pannus formation. NSAIDs and DMARDs were uneffective, but on the contrary, anti -parkinson' s disease therapy could relieve joints symptoms. Conclusion Parkinson disease can be accompanied with rheumatoid-like deformities which may be misdiagnosed as RA and should be differentiated from RA by laboratory, radiographs and synovium pathology examination.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2013;33(12):1065-1070
OBJECTIVETo explore therapeutic effect and action mechanism of regulating spleen-stomach needling on diabetic nephropathy (DN).
METHODSUsing multi-centric, randomized, controlled and blind principles, 144 cases of DN were divided into an observation group and a control group according to random digital tab, 72 cases in each one. Based on regular treatment of diabetes, the regulating spleen-stomach needling was applied at Zhongwan (CV 12), Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4) and Xuehai (SP 10), etc. in the observation group while Shenshu (BL 23), Taixi (KI 3), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Yanglingquan (GB 34), etc. were selected in the control group by reference of Acupuncture and moxibustion. The treatment was given twice a day, six days as a treatment session with interval of one day between sessions. Totally six weeks were required. Changes of clinical symptoms and signs, fast blood glucose (FBG), urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER), beta2-microglobulin (beta2-MG), monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1), lymphocyte membrane cholesterol, propanediol (MDA), PCO, 8-hydroxydeoxy guanosine (8-OHdG), superoxide dismutase (SOD), CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, and CD4+/CD8+ were observed before and after treatment in two groups.
RESULTSAs for improving clinical symptoms and signs, total effective rate was 84.29% (59/70) in the observation group and 55.56% (40/72) in the control group, which had statistical difference between two groups (P<0.01). As for regulating glycometabolism [(6.25 +/- 0.32) mmol/L vs (8.09 +/- 0.63) mmol/L], reducing UAER [(154.43 +/- 55.14) mg/24h vs (268.91 +/- 77.65) mg/24h], restraining over-expression of MCP-1 [(137.59 +/- 36.15) pg/mL vs (166.89 +/- 42.82) pg/mL], regulating level of oxidative stress, prohibiting oxidation of protein and adjusting quantity and activity of T lymphocyte subgroup, the observation group was superior to the control group (P< 0.05, P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe regulating spleen-stomach needling is an effective method for treatment of DN, which cold improve glycometabolism disturbance-induced progressive kidney injury, recover glomerular filtration, reduce urinary albumin excretion rate, restrain overexpression of MCP-1, adjust level of oxidative stress, prohibit oxidation of protein, increase protectiveness of membrane, adjust quantity and activity abnormity of T lymphocyte subgroup, leading to repairing lymphocyte damage and improving immune expression to delay kidney damage.
