Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(1):80-82
Based on the thought of Zhishen (a kind of mind regulation), Professor SHI Xue-min, academician of the China Academy of Engineering, found the Xingnao Kaiqiao (to refresh the mind and to cause resuscitation) acupuncture method, which still plays an important role in the acupuncture treatment of wind stroke nowadays. Meanwhile, great importance is attached to the comprehensive treatment of wind stroke. Danqi Piantan capsule (see text) is developed and "wind stroke unit" is set up. In recent years, Professor SHI shifts the center of research to the treatment of hypertension, the risk factor of wind stroke. Taking Renying (ST 9) as the major acupoint, acupuncture with standard measurement and manipulations is established. And good clinical effect has been obtained as well. Therefore, this article focuses on the introduction of Professor SHI Xue-min's contribution to wind stroke treatment.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(20):4070-4073
Based on vector auto-regression (VAR) model, this paper takes advantage of Granger causality test, variance decomposition and impulse response analysis techniques to carry out a comprehensive study of the factors influencing the price of Chinese herbal, including herbal cultivation costs, acreage, natural disasters, the residents' needs and inflation. The study found that there is Granger causality relationship between inflation and herbal prices, cultivation costs and herbal prices. And in the total variance analysis of Chinese herbal and medicine price index, the largest contribution to it is from its own fluctuations, followed by the cultivation costs and inflation.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2014;49(5):569-575
Ginseng is a typical adaptogen which has resistance to various stresses. This effect is related to the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. As the main active ingredients, saponin has the similar structure to steroids. The regulation characteristics of ginseng saponin on the HPA axis are narrated from the aspects of total saponin and saponin monomers in this paper after the introduction of adaptation definition and HPA axis regulation mechanisms. Pharmacological effects of ginseng saponin and the regulation effect of HPA axis are summarized finally.

Chinese Mental Health Journal 2002;0(07):-
Objective: To explore the prevalence of depression in junior school students and its relationship with potential psychological and environmental factors. Method:Depressive symptoms, self-esteem, life events, social support, family cohesion and conflict were investigated with self-report questionnaire in 300 junior school students, the relationship between depression and other psychological or environmental factors were analyzed through stepwise regression. Results:The prevalence of depression in junior high school students was 11%. Among the 5 investigated psychological and environmental factors, self-esteem and social support were negatively related with depression (standardized regression coefficient were -0.59 and -0.14), while life events positively related with it(standardized regression coefficient was 0.26). Only "academic pressure" and another factors covering the item "do not want to go to school" showed a negative association with the students' self-esteem among the 6 factors included in the life events questionnaire (standardized regression coefficient were -0.149 and -0.13).Conclusion: Depression is common among junior school students. Poor self-esteem, lack of social support and negative life events are currently related with the development of adolescent depression. The pressure and failing experiences coming from academic activities are the most influential life events to the development of adolescents' self-esteem.

Chinese Journal of Disease Control & Prevention 2009;0(01):-
Objective To explore the application of ROC curve analysis in evaluating the virtual screening of ?-secretase (BACE-1) inhibitors. Methods Virtual screening were performed for BACE-1 inhibitors using different scoring functions (Surflex-score,D-score,G-score,PMF-score,ChemScore),the screening library was composed of 50 BACE-1 inhibitors and 9 950 inactive compounds.Five scoring functions were used for ranking, and application of ROC curve analysis in evaluating the results of ranking. Results Using D-score to rank the database, the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.935.If specificity was considered primarily, more active compound were obtained by Surflex-score;if sensitivity was considered primarily, more active compounds were obtained by D-score.Conclusions ROC curve consists of sensitivity and specificity together,it can be used to set the right threshold after virtual screening to obtain active compounds as many as possible.

Objective·To isolate lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and capsular polysaccharide (CPS) from Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) and analyze their ability to induce THP-1 cells to secrete interleukin 8 (IL-8) in vitro. Methods·LPS and CPS were isolated from the polysaccharides by gel filtration chromatography, which had already been extracted from Pg ATCC33277 and SJD4. The isolated LPS and CPS from different strains were used to stimulate THP-1 cells in different doses and for different periods. The level of IL-8 in the cell culture suspension was measured by ELISA. Results·LPS and CPS were successfully separated from the polysaccharides in Pg ATCC33277 and SJD4. The relative molecular masses of LPS and CPS were 20000-50000 and 150000-500000, respectively. LPS and CPS could induce THP-1 cells to produce IL-8 in vitro in a time- and dose-dependent manner. The effect of LPS from ATCC33277 on secretion of IL-8 was greater than that of CPS with the dose of 0.1 μg/mL (P<0.05). However, the difference could only be found at 24 h in SJD4, and the effect of CPS was greater (P<0.05). Conclusion·As a component of polysaccharides extracted from Pg, CPS can induce THP-1 cells to secrete IL-8 in vitro in a time- and dose-dependent manner.

Objective To explore the efficacy and value of the one-off cure of the serious cervical erosion by Microwave combined with idophor. Methods Eighty patients with serious cervical erosion enrolled in our department from 8,2003 to 10,2005 were randomly allocated to group A as test group and group B as control group. Both groups were treated with microwave. But every one or three days, cervix and vagina of group A was scrubbed by idophor. After three months, every group was re - examined to observe the efficacy and side -effect of the one-off cure. Results The one-off cure rate in group A(95%)was significantly higher than in group B(77.5%). There was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The average days of took off scab in group A(9.66)had a signifi- cantly deeper invasion than in group B(13.87)(P<0.05).Conclusion On cure of the serious cervical erosion by microwave combined with idophor can shorten the took off scab period and improved the one - off cure rate. The convenient method can be used widely.
