Objective To investigate the effects of the polluted organic substances in urban water environment and genetoxicity of the organic pollutants in drinking water on DNA damage in primary cultured hepatocytes in rats. Methods Qualitative analysis of the organic extracts from source water and drinking water in five waterworks in city C with GC/MS was conducted and the effects of organic extracts on DNA damage in primary cultured hepatocytes in rats were tested with single cell gel electrophoresis assay. Comet length means and percentage of tail cell were observed. Results A total of 98 organic pollutants were detected in all samples including 60 in source water and 58 in drinking water. The pollutants were mainly esters, ketons, phenols, benzenes and the derivatives. Comet length means was found to be significantly higher ( P

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(10):-
Objective To evaluate the role of early growth response gene1 (Egr-1) in liver injury in taurocholate-induced acute pancreatitis rat model. Methods Twenty-four male rats were divided into 4 groups. Egr-1 immunohistochemistry staining and pancreatic pathologic scoring were assessed, and the serum levels of AST, LDH, TNF-? and IL-1 ? were measured. Egr-1 mRNA levels of primary hepatocyte culture stimulated with TNF-? and pretreated primary hepatocytes with PD98059 followed by TNF-? stimulation were also observed. Results Egr-1 expression of liver correlated with degree of liver injury in acute pancreatitis in rat, and high Egr-1 mRNA expression of primary hepatocyte was observed when hepatocyte injury occurred. After pretreated with PD98059, TNF-?-stimulated hepatocytes showed a lower level of Egr-1 mRNA compared with hepatocytes without pretreatment. Conclusions Egr-1 may play an important role in liver injury in acute pancreatitis, and this effect depended partly upon extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) pathway.

Nonconvulsive status epilepticus (NCSE)is a peculiar kind of status epilepticus, which is not un-common in children, but it always be misdiagnosed due to its unnoticeable clinical signs. So far, there is no international unifying diagnose standard of NCSE.Therefore, electroencephalography(EEG)monitoring is recommended. Now,the progress in this field of clinical manifestation and EEG features of NCSE was reviewed.

Objective To study the related influencing factors of MCF 7 cells proliferation test in vitro to provide some criteria for the standard detection of environmental estrogens (EE) by cell proliferation test of MCF 7 cells in vitro . Methods The sensitivity to E 2 stimulation of different sources of MCF 7 cell lines was detected. Cell proliferation test was performed on the screened sensitive cells in different culture conditions. Results In the estrogen free medium, C cell line of MCF 7 was more sensitive to E 2 stimulation than A and B cell lines ( P
6.Effect of Early Bilateral Limbs Rehabilitation on Stroke Patients
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(6):494-495
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of early bilateral limbs rehabilitation on nerve function of stroke patients.Methods60 cases of acute stroke were divided into unilateral group and bilateral group with 30 cases in each group. Cases in bilateral group were treated by training healthy side and sick side limbs alternatively and electric stimulating bilateral limbs at same time. Cases in unilateral group were treated only on sick limbs (both training and electric stimulating). After 4 weeks treatment, neurological deficit evaluation (NDE), motor function and activities of daily living of all cases in two groups were assessed.ResultsAfter treatment, scores of NDE, Fugl-Meyer Motor Assessment Scale and Barthel index of patients of bilateral group were 9.9±4.52, 71.21±22.43 and 78.6 ± 20.17 respectively. Those of patients of unilateral group were 13.46±9.2, 52.21±17.68 and 54.2±16.34 respectively. There was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.01) after 4 weeks treatment.ConclusionEarly rehabilitation can improve nerve function of stroke patients and the effect of bilateral limbs rehabilitation is better than that of unilateral limbs rehabilitation.

This research uses six Agrobacterium rhizogenes R1601, R15384, R1000, A4, R1025 and R1 to infect silymarin explants to induce hairy roots and silibin. All of the six A. rhizogenes can induce Silybum marianum to generate hairy roots and the A. rhizogene A4 shows comparatively high infection on the plant. This research determines the condition to induce silymarin hairy roots by the factors of infection time, pre-culturing, co-culturing and pH value. The fact that MS liquid medium fits the proliferation of silymarin hairy roots is determined. Through PCR molecular identification, it can be seen that the DNA plasmids in the A. rhizogenes are successfully integrated into the genome of transformed roots. Using liquid chromatography, it is determined that the silibin content in silymarin hairy roots is 2.5 times that in the plant In this research, the silymarin hairy roots culturing system is established, which lays a foundation for the study of culturing silymarin hairy roots and producing silibin.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2015;(1):36-43
Objective:To observe the effect of rapid point pressure on clinical effect and pulmonary function of patients with chronic persistent bronchial asthma.
Methods:A total of 60 confirmed chronic persistent bronchial asthma cases were randomly allocated into two groups, 30 in each group. Cases in the treatment group were treated with rapid point pressure, 1 h for the initial treatment, and 40 min for the ensuing treatments. The treatment was done once a day for 40 d. Cases in the control group were treated with Compound Methoxyphenamine Hydrochloride Capsules, 2 capsules for each dose, 3 times a day. The treatment lasted for 7 consecutive days. A 1-year follow-up was made for both groups.
Results:After treatment, the scores of each symptom and total symptom scores for the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05);the total effective rates in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group in each time frame; and there was a between-group statistical significance in total effective rate after 7 d of treatment (P<0.01). After 40-day treatments, there were statistical significances in the forced expiratory volume in 1 s percentage of predicted value (FEV 1%) and inspiratory capacity (IC%) in the treatment group (P<0.05); however, there were no statistical significances (P>0.05) in forced expiratory volume in 1 second to forced vital capacity ratio (FEV1/FVC), peak expiratory flow rate (PEF%) and maximum midexpiratory flow rate (MMEF%); and there were no statistical significances in pulmonary function parameters in the control group. In addition, as for pulmonary function parameters, there were no intra-group statistical significances in differences before and after treatment (P>0.05).
Conclusion:Rapid point pressure can alleviate patients’ TCM symptoms and improve their FEV%and IC%.
