1.Gene polymorphisms in the nucleotide excision repair pathway and lung cancer susceptibility
Journal of International Oncology 2013;(2):126-130
Nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway is one of the principal ways of the repair of DNA damage. The single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of its key genes such as xeroderma pigmentosum group A (XPA) gene, excision repair cross complementingl (ERCC1) gene and xeroderma pigmentosum group D (XPD) gene may be associated with differences in the DNA repair capacity and may influence an individual's risk of lung cancer, because the variant genotype in those polymorphisms might destroy or alter repair function.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(07):-
Objective To compare the effects of classic intrafascial supracervical hysterectomy(CISH)and laparoscope-assisted vaginal hysterectomy(LAVH)on structure and function of the pelvic floor in women. Methods From March 2003 to December 2005,totally 35 cases of CISH and 44 cases of LAVH were performed in our hospital. The patients were followed up for 22 to 38 months after the operations.During the period, they received physical examination and life quality questionnaire,by which the degree of pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor function were evaluated. Results The incidence of cystocele in CISH group was significantly lower than that in LAVH group [11.4%(4/35)vs 34.1%(15/44),?2=5.481,P=0.019],whereas,no significant difference was found in the incidence of rectocele between the two groups [17.1%(6/35)vs 13.6%(6/44),?2=0.186,P=0.666].Seven(15.9%)patients in the LAVH group developed cervix prolapse, while none of the CISH group had such a situation(P=0.016).Life quality questionnaire showed that 5 patients in CISH group and 16 patients in LAVH group were satisfied with their sexual life [14.3%(5/35)vs 38.1%(16/42),?2=5.456,P=0.019].Conclusion CISH is superior to LAVH in protecting the structure and function of the pelvic floor.

Journal of Regional Anatomy and Operative Surgery 2013;(6):611-612,614
Objective To explore the effects of the therapeutic effects of interventional heated chemotherapy( IHC) for moderate and advanced huge primary hepatocellular carcinoma and compare with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization( TACE) . Methods The 68 pa-tients with moderate and advanced huge primary hepatocellular carcinoma accepted the treatment of IHC were considered as the observation group, and 32 patients managed TACE were regarded as the control group. The therapeutic effects, living quality, secondary surgery rates,The reduced level of serum AFP,survival rate, and toxic side effects of 2 groups were contrasted. Results The effective rate of observation group was obviously higher than that of control group (79. 4% vs 56. 3%,P <0. 05),and secondary surgery rates was increased(70. 6% vs 43. 8%,P<0. 01). The ratio of increased Karnofsky score was more than 20 in observation group, which was obviously higher than that of control group(35. 3% vs 12. 5%,P<0. 01). T The reduced level of serum AFP was more than 50% in observation group, which was higher than that of control group (52. 9% vs 25. 0%,P<0. 01). The survival rate of 12,18,24 months after treatment in control group was in-creased than that in control group individually (P<0. 01). Conclusion IHC is effective for huge primary hepatocellular carcinoma and in-creases the secondary surgery rates, which is one of the safe and effective methods for huge primary hepatocellular carcinoma.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(12):-
Aim To study the effects of luteolin on the expression of TGF-?1 mRNA in rats with pulmonary fibrosis, and elaborate the molecular mechanism of luteolin in pulmonary fibrosis therapy. Methods The model of pulmonary fibrosis was established through instilling bleomycin intratracheally. After luteolin treatment, the pulmonary index and the content of hydroxyproline (HYP) were observed. The levels of TGF-?1 mRNA in pulmonary tissues were determined with RT-PCR. Results The pulmonary index and the content of HYP decreased markedly in pulmonary fibrosis rats treated with luteolin. Furthermore, luteolin inhibited evidently the expression of TGF-?1 mRNA in lung tissues with pulmonary fibrosis. Conclusion The molecular mechanism of luteolin in pulmonary fibrosis therapy was associated with inhibition of the expression of TGF-?1 mRNA.

Objective To evaluate the myocardial protection of warm blood cardioplegic induction during cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) Methods Twenty-eight adult patients undergoing valve replacement ,were devided randomly into two groups : in group test (group T,n=14) the warm (35℃-37℃) blood cardioplegia was infused to induce ECG straight line ,followed by the administration of the cold (6℃-8℃) blood cardioplegia , whereas in group control (group C ,n=14) the cold blood cardioplegia was applied simply The aterial blood samples were taken to measure the plasma concentration of cardiac troponin T (cTnT) with ELISA methods immediately after anesthesia induction, and immediately ,6 h, 24 h after the weaning from CPB The myocardial samples of right atrium were taken to observe the morphology with the transmission electron microscpe Results The rate of restoring spontaneous heart-beat in group T (93%) was significantly higher than that in group C (50%) One case in gruop T (7%) and three cases in group C (21%) required the interim pacemakers No case in group T (0%) and five cases (36%) in group C required the administration of dopamine perioperatively The durations of post-operative mechanical ventilative support and ICU-staying of group T were obviously shorter than those of group C The plasma level of cTnT in group T was obviously lower than that in group C immediately and 6 h after CPB Myocardial morphology in group T got much better outcome than that in group C did Conclusions Warm blood cardioplegic induction during CPB can provide better myocardial protection than cold blood cardioplegic induction

Objective To explore the effect of Renzhu Jianwei Granules(Granule of Semen Coicis and Rhizoma Atractylodis Macro- cephalae for strengthening the stomach)on the patients with precancerous lesions of gastric cancer(PLGC)and its mechanism. Methods The 58 patients of chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)complicated with intestinal metaplasia(IM)and/or dysplasia(Dys) were randomized into treatment group and control group with 29 in each. The treatment group was administered Renzhu Jianwei Gran- ules while the control group was given Weifuchun Tablets. The numbers of positive cells of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)and cy- clooxygenase 2(COX-2)of gastric mueosa before and after treatment were observed. Results The scores of positive cells of CEA and COX-2 of gastric mucosa of both groups were greatly reduced after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Renzhu Jianwei Granules can reduce CEA and COX-2 of PLGC patients, possibly being one of the mechanisms in treating PLGC.

Object To study the effects of gypenosides on MAO and Na/K ATPase activities in brain tissues of aging mice Methods Models of aging mice were prepared by continuous post orbitol injection of 120 mg/kg D galactose for a month, then the effects of gypenosides on MAO and Na/K ATPase activities in brain tissues were investigated Results It was observed that MAO activity was increased and Na/K ATPase activity was decreased in brain tissues of aging mice models significantly; and these effects were reversible respectively by gypenosides ig of 75 and 150 mg/kg Conclusion The result that gypenosides could invert the changes of MAO and Na/K ATPase activities in brain tissues of aging mice, may provide a further explaination of the anti aging mechanism of gypenosides in molecule enzymology
