The laboratory animal science, a comprehensive discipline researching on experimental animal and animal experimentation, is the life sciences research foundation and the support condition. It has very vital significance to sudy the related discipline especially the life sciences. This article discusses the construction of the status of Laboratory Animal Science course combined with the development of laboratory animal science and contacted with the characteristics of medical colleges and related disciplines.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of stereotactic conformal radiotherapy (SCRT) on 30 cases of thalamic and brainstem tumors. Methods During the period from October 1997 to April 2002, 30 patients, 19 male and 11 female, with an age range from 13 to 68 years (an average of 37 years) suffering from thalamic and brainstem tumors, were treated in our institute. The size of the tumors ranged from 3.5 cm 3 to 73.0 cm 3 with an average of 16.5 cm 3. Eight cases were treated with SCRT after regular radiotherapy, 7 cases were treated with SCRT after surgical resection of the tumor and 15 cases were treated with SCRT only. Results The clinical symptoms of all the patients disappeared thoroughly. Their KPS was significantly improved (P

Objective:To compare the dosimetric differences of the planning target volume(PTV)and the organs at risk(OAR)for postoperative patients with cervical cancer on intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)and conventional 4 fields(4F)or 2 fields(2F)radiotherapy.Methods:Six postoperative patients with cervical cancer were chosen randomly. The next steps were CT scan,PTV and OAR contouring. The treatment protocols were designed into conventional 4F,2F and IMRT by TPS.Finally, the doso distribution and DVH were compared. Results:About the conformability of PTV,IMRT showed a significantly superior dose distribution over conventional 4F(P=0.015),and conventional 4F was superior to 2F(P=0.043).IMRT as compared with conventional 4F or 2F protocols, the received dose of the 50%volume of bladder was reduced by 25.8%and 27.5%,the rectum was reduced by 12%and 14.3%,the small intestine was reduced by 36.5%and 50%.But the differences of the femoral head(left & right)and the ilium have no statistical significance. Conclusion:in postoperative radiotherapy for cervical cancer,IMRT have Inore dosimetric advantages than conventional radiotherapy.

Objective:To investigate the clinical features, the key point of diagnosis and treatment methods of X-linked hyper-IgM syndrome (XHIGM).Methods:The clinical characteristics and laboratory data of a patient aged 23 years who was diagnosed as XHIGM complicated with T-cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia (TLGLL) in Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital in March 2020 were analyzed retrospectively, and the literatures were reviewed. Results:This male patient presented with recurrent infection when he was 17 years old, and was found neutropenia, anemia accompanied by obvious splenomegaly, lower level of IgG and IgA after the visit. The level of IgM was lower than the normal level and the typical XHIGM was manifested with the normal or increased level of IgM, however CD40L homozygous mutation (chromosome: chrX; location: 135730438; variation of amino acid: NM_000074:exon1:c.31C>T:p.R11X; nonsense mutation) was confirmed by next generation sequencing. CD40L heterozygous mutation was detected in his mother, but it was not in his father. The patient was diagnosed as XHIGM. Anemia and neutropenia were alleviated after splenectomy in the patient, who was diagnosed as T-cell large granular lymphocyte elevation and clonal proliferation by flow cytometry, TCR gene rearrangement positive and bone marrow histopathological immunohistochemistry results because of the increasing leukocyte. The patient was eventually diagnosed as XHIGM complicated with T-LGLL.Conclusions:A small number of patients with XHIGM may develop symptoms in adulthood and may present with atypical clinical features of significant reduction in IgG, IgA, and IgM. The confirmed diagnosis of XHIGM is established by identification of CD40L gene mutation. XHIGM gene screening is required in male patients with recurrent infection, IgG level lower than normal and neutropenia. A few XHIGM patients are complicated with T-LGLL.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of community based rehabilitation on chronic schizophrenia. Methods60 patients of chronic schizophrenia were randomly divided into the community based rehabilitation group (the study group) and the inpatients group (the control group). The study used prospective design for 1 year with brief psychiatric rating scale (BPRS),nurses' observation scale for inpatients evaluation (NOSIE) and social disability screening schedule (SDSS).ResultsCompared with the control group at the end of 6 month and 1 year, scores of BPRS, NOSIE and SDSS in the study group were significantly different (P<0.05-P<0.001). The relapse rate of the study group (0%) also lowered than that of the control group( 20%).ConclusionsCommunity based rehabilitation therapy can control the chronic schizophrenia effectively. It also promotes the life quality and social function of patients, and lowers the relapse rate significantly. It is an important rehabilitation method for chronic schizophrenia.

Objective To analyze the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 5 patients with importing yellow fever ,and to explore the preventive and control strategies of infection in hospital .Methods The epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 5 cases of importing yellow fever in Infectious Disease Hospital of Fujian Medical University from March 18th to April 6th in 2016 were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed .Results Five patients were all from Angola Luanda .One of them was vaccinated before going aboard ,and the others were vaccinated 1—10 days before disease onset in Angola .All of them were bitten by mosquitoes ,and their onset date ranged from March 11th to March 27th ,before returned to Fujian .The main clinical symptoms were fever ,chilly ,shivering ,fatigue ,arthrodynia ,headache ,and liver and kidney injury .At manifestations ,two patients had positive nuclear acid of yellow fever virus in serum samples and 3 patients were positive in urine samples .All of these patients were negative for dengue virus and Zika virus testing ,meanwhile no plasmodium was found in blood smears .All patients were cured and discharged . Conclusions There is risk of yellow fever transmission in Fujian Province . Prevention and control of the disease should be focus on improving the ability of finding and coping with the importing cases .Vaccination and hygiene knowledge propagation should be given for those who are going to epidemic country/area .Emergency monitoring and control of mosquitoes are necessary .
