Objective Preparation of a stable and reliable atrioventricular blockage ( AVB) animal model is of great im-portance to anti-arrhythmic drugs and biological engineering research .The aim of the article was to establish a rat model of AVB in-duced by chemical ablation, providing an effective animal model for the development of new drugs . Methods 60 adult SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups(n=15): normal saline (NS) group, Verapmil (Ver) group, chemical ablation group 1 and chemical ablation group 2.0.9%NaCl (5 mg/kg) was injected into caudal vein of each rat in NS group .Verapmil (5 mg/kg) was injected into the caudal vein in Ver group.Anhydrous ethanol(50μL)was injected into atrioventricular groove area in chemical abla-tion group 1.Anhydrous ethanol(50μL) was injected into atrioventricular node area in chemical ablation group 2.The electrocardio-grams of the rats were examined by electrophysiological recorder.HE staining and Connexin 43 (CX43) immunohistochemical tech-nique were applied to atrioventricular junctions of the rats . Results A rat model of AVB was successfully established .Compared with NS group([45 ±2.24]per field of view), there was a significant decrease in the CX43 expressions of chemical ablation group 1 and group 2 ([15.20 ±2.23]per field of view, [22.10 ±4.70]per field of view)(P<0.05).Concerning NS group and Ver group, myocyte tissues of the atrioventricular nodal region were detected to remain in order without obvious changes and the expres-sion of CX43 immunoreactive protein was obvious under light microscope. As to chemical ablation group 1 and group 2, myocyte tissues were in degenerative necrosis and the expression of CX43 im-munoreactive protein was in lighter staining.Compared with Ver group, the incidence rate(73.3%, 60.6%) and the mortality rate (33.3%, 26.7%)of third-degree AVB decreased remarkably(P<0.05). Conclusion Chemical ablation can be induced to estab-lish a stable and reliable rat model of AVB , providing an effective
animal model for the research and development of new anti-arrhythmic drugs.

The status of marine bioresources and the marine eco-environment issues were summarized and discussed, and the strategies for the development of Chinese marine bioresources in the future were proposed. The degradation of marine eco-environment and unreasonable exploitation of the resources resulted in acute decline of Chinese marine bioresources. The feasible stratagies for the sustainable use of marine bioresources should be to intensify the basic research on marine bioresources science, to strengthen the protection of the marine environment and conservation of marine living resources, and to exploit and utilize marine bioresources scientifically and reasonably by using high-technology including marine biotechnology.

Chinese Journal of Epidemiology 2011;32(12):1216-1220
Objective To describe the prevalence of aggressive behavior among preschool children and its related family factors. Methods 1234 preschool children in ten kindergartens were rated on their aggressive behavior by their parents, using Child Behavior Checklist(CBCI),Parent Behavior Inventory(PBI)and a general questionnaire. Results The overall prevalence of aggressive behavior among preschool children was 12.9%(95% CI:11.0-15.0)according to the CBCL assessment, with the rate being slight higher(13.7%,93/680)in boys than in girls(11.9%,66/554).Data from logistic regression analysis showed that parents' hostile/coercive parenting style(OR=2.396,95%CI:1.636-3.510)and inconsistent parenting attitude between parents and grandparents(OR=1.867,95% CI:1.287-2.710)would lead to more aggressive behaviors in preschool children.Compared with childen without difficulty in falling asleep, those who often(OR=3.415,95% CI:1.901-6.135)or sometimes(OR=2.147,95% CI:1.256-3.671)had problem falling asleep at night had more aggressive behaviors. On the other hand, factors as:watching TV less than 1 hour each day (OR=0.252,95% CI:0.136-0.467),father in older age(OR=0.703,95% CI:0.503-0.983)and participating in regular outdoor activitiess(OR=0.6 1 7,95%CI:0.399-0.955)were protective factors to the aggressive behaviors of the children. Conclusion The prevalence of aggressive behavior in preschool children was high which called for more attention.Intervention programs targeting the family should consider the influencing factors as ways of parenting, consistent attitude on parenting in the family etc.to reduce the occurrence of aggressive behavior among preschool children.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(08):-
piRNA(Piwi-interacting RNA) is a novel class of small single strand RNA that were recently isolated from testes of the mammals, associate with PIWI proteins, and are organized into distinct genomic clusters. These RNAs are typically 30 nt long, strikingly different from microRNAs in their length, expression pattern, and genomic organization. piRNA has a role in RNA silencing via the formation of an RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) with Piwi proteins, these piRNA complexes (piRCs) have been linked to transcriptional gene silencing of retrotransposons and other genetic elements in germ line cells, particularly those in spermatogenesis.Recent researches and progresses of piRNAs are reviewed.

To investigate the suitable site environment for Atractylodes lancea, field trials in different niches was carried out, and the seedling growth, biomass and volatile oil components in different microhabitas was studied. The study found that the survival rate, plant height, volatile oil content of those which growing under the bamboo were significantly higher than those exposed in the open field. The survival rate understory was (76 ± 15.1) %, plant height understory was (77 ± 14. 8) cm and the summation of the four kinds of volatile oil content understory reached up to 4.09%; The same evaluation values of these indicators of the four faces in the open field respectively: survival rate is 30%, plant height was (77 ± 14.8) cm and the summation of the four kinds of volatile oil content was 2.24%. But, the yield of the understory (41 ± 22.3) g was significantly lower than those four faces in the open field (104.5 g) on the contrary. For the four open field towards, the yield of the east facing, which organic matter and other nutritional conditions were better than others, was significantly higher than those in the other facings. A. lancea was found to be an anti-poor and shading-like or growing in east facing slope herb through the correlation analysis of light, temperature, soil and leaf nutrients with seedling growth, biomass and volatile oil components. It also reminds us that the understory herb with high survival rate, low incidence, low management costs, and high medicinal ingredients, although it's production is not so high, but it can be improved by increased organic fertilizer. So the ecological planting patterns which can intercropping herbs with the forest was proposed.

Objective To investigate the histological changes of the right ventricular remodeling in Xinjiang Mar-mota baibacina which are adapted to high-altitude hypoxia .Methods Hematoxylin and eosin and Masson staining was used to examine the pathological changes and degree of fibrosis , and immunohistochemical technique was used to detect connexin 43 ( CX43) expression in the right ventricular myocardium .Results In the right ventricular myocardium , cardio-myocyte hypertrophy and increased amount of collagen fibers were observed .The right ventricular hypertrophy index and weight index of Marmota baibacina were significantly higher , and expression of CX43 was significantly reduced than that of normal rats ( P<0.05 for both ) .Conclusions High-altitude hypoxia induces right ventricular remodeling in Xinjiang Marmota baibacina. It can be used as an ideal animal model for studies on the mechanisms of hypoxia adaptation on high -altitude plateau .
