OI To research the new interhemispheric approach treatments of removing different large or huge sellar region tumor. Methods To remove 36 cases of different infiltrated-growth large or huge sellar region tumors by interhemisphefic approach microsurgery. Results In the 36 cases, total removal was achieved in 29, subtotal in 5 and most-partly in 2, and without any severe complications or death occured. 12 in 18 functional pituitary adcnoma were followed up, 10 cases got recovery on hormone level, and the level in 2 cases reduced ob ously. 2 cases recurred, both received γ-knife treatment. Conclusion The new interhemispheric approach surgery is important for large or huge invasive sellar region tumor.

Objective To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture at Sanyinjiao (SP6) and Yinlingquan (SP9) on muscle repair in the gastrocnemius muscle damaged rats and its possible mechanism. Methods 30 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into blank group (n=10), model group (n=10) and electroacupuncture group (n=10). The latter 2 groups were modeled with gastrocnemius muscle crush injury. The electroacupuncture group received electroacupuncture at Sanyinjiao and Yinlingquan for 14 days. Their gastrocnemius was observed with HE staining, and the expressions of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in gastroc-nemius tissues and the serum were determined with immunochemical assay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results Compared with the model group, there was less damage in the electroacupuncture group, with more expression of bFGF and IGF-1 in tis-sues (P<0.01) and serum (P<0.05). Conclusion Electroacupuncture can promote muscle repair after gastrocnemius muscle damage in rats, which may be related to the increase of the bFGF and IGF-1 expression in gastrocnemius tissue and serum.

Hedgehog pathway is an osteogenesis-related signaling pathway . During embryonic development , it regulates the growth and proliferation of progenitor cells and tissue formation. This pathway can be activated during liver injury. Activated Hedge-hog signaling pathway is involved in many aspects of liver wound-healing responses, including hepatic progenitor cell pro-liferation, myofibroblast transdifferentiation, apoptosis of various types of liver cells, inflammatory reactions, and vascular remod-eling. This article reviews the research progress in the role of Hedgehog signaling pathway in liver injury and the underlying mechanisms. The potential drug targets are also discussed. This review is to provide novel insights into antifibrotic research and therapeutic targets.
