Aim To explore the effects of lipoteichoic acid (LTA) induced delayed preconditioning (PC) on hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R) injury of cultured human coronary artery endothelial cells (HCAECs), and to investigate the potential role of endogenous nitric oxide (NO) participated in the protective mechanism. Methods HCAECs were incubated for 2 h in a hypoxic atmosphere and reoxygenated for 4 h in a normoxic atmosphere. The delayed PC was induced by pretreatment with LTA assessed by the percentage of cellular injury with Trypan blue exclusion and by the amount of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in culture media. The NO level of the culture media was measured detect the expression of eNOS mRNA by RT-PCR method after cells were recovered from different points. Results LTA pretreatment significantly decreased the percentage of the killed cell and the concentration of LDH in media. Also, LTA pretreatment obviously raised the concentrations of NO in culture media. The protective effects of LTA were abrogated by pretreatment with N-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA).Moreover, the expression of eNOS mRNA was significantly upregulated after HCAECs exposure to LTA for 4 h following 2 h or 4 h recovery. Conclusion LTA could induce the delayed protection against H/R induced endothelial injury and dysfunction of cultured HCAECs. NO produced by eNOS acts initially as a trigger and subsequently as a mediator of delayed PC.

To explore the potential of lipoteichoic acid (LTA) induced cardioprotection against ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in isolated rat hearts and whether endogenous nitric oxide (NO) participates in the protection, the rats were pretreated with LTA (1 mg/kg, i.p.) 24 h before the experiment, and the isolated hearts were subjected to 30 min no-flow normothermic global ischemia and 60 min reperfusion after a 20-min stabilization period by the langendorff method. Cardiac functions were evaluated at the end of stabilization, and at 30 min, 60 min of reperfusion. The amounts of MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase (CK-MB), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) and total NO oxidation products in the coronary effluent were measured spectrophotometrically at the end of reperfusion. It was revealed that pretreatment with LTA could significantly improve the recovery of cardiac function, reduce the release of CK-MB and LDH, and increase the concentrations of NO in coronary effluent. The protective effects were abrogated by pretreatment of the rats with L-NAME. It was concluded that LTA could induce the delayed cardioprotection against I/R injury, and endogenous NO may be involved in the mechanisms.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2021;55(10):1042-1047
Objective:To analyze imaging features of lymphoepithelial carcinoma (LEC) of salivary gland through conventional CT, MRI and functional MRI.Methods:From March 2010 to March 2020, a total of 75 patients with salivary gland LEC who were initially diagnosed and confirmed by postoperative pathology were retrospectively collected in the Ninth People′s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical College. The preoperative CT and MRI findings were analyzed. Information including location, size, shape, boundary, density/signal intensity and enhancement degree of lesions were evaluated by conventional CT and MRI. The ADC value and time-intensity curve (TIC) pattern of lesions were measured from DWI and dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE)-MRI.Results:Among 75 cases of LEC in salivary gland, 56 cases had solitary lesions, 38 cases were round/oval or irregular, 34 cases were irregular morphology. Only 1 case exhibited calcification and 5 cases had necrotic regions. In 68 cases with CT images, 28 cases showed moderate enhancement and 30 cases showed intense enhancement. In 12 cases with MRI, 11 cases showed iso-intensity on T 1WI and 12 cases showed slightly hyperintensity on T 2WI. After contrast injection, 11 cases showed homogeneous enhancement and all of the 12 cases showed intense enhancement. The ADC value of LEC in salivary gland was (0.68±0.05)×10?3 mm 2/s and the TIC type of all the 12 cases was type Ⅱ (fast rising platform type). Conclusion:The LEC of salivary gland is single, has homogeneous texture, moderate enhancement and low ADC value. DCE-MRI shows type Ⅱ TIC curve. Morphological features combined with functional MRI features are helpful for accurate preoperative imaging diagnosis and differential diagnosis.

【Objective】 To explore the relationship between the storage time of leukodepleted red blood cells and transfusion adverse reactions by analyzing the occurrence of transfusion adverse reactions of patients after leukodepleted red blood cells transfusion from four hospitals. 【Methods】 By using the electronic medical record management system, the collection and transfusion dates of leukodepleted red blood cells from four hospitals in Enshi Prefecture from 2018 to 2022, as well as the information on transfusion adverse reactions, were retrieved. 【Results】 From 2018 to 2022, a total of 697 61 bags of leukodepleted red blood cells were transfused in four hospitals, resulting in 166 cases of transfusion adverse reactions, among which 93 were allergic reactions, 63 were non hemolytic febrile reactions, and 10 were others, with a total incidence rate of transfusion adverse reactions at 0.24%. The average storage time of leukodepleted red blood cells with and without transfusion adverse reactions was (20.25±6.31) and (19.88±5.50) days, respectively. With a storage time of 7 days as the threshold, the incidence of transfusion adverse reactions was the lowest for a storage time of 15~21 days. The incidence of transfusion adverse reactions of leukodepleted red blood cells in two groups (with storage days ≤21 days and >21 days) was not statistically significant(P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 Allergic reactions were the main type of transfusion adverse reaction caused by leukodepleted red blood cells, and the incidence of transfusion adverse reactions decreased and then increased with the prolongation of the storage time of leukodepleted red blood cells. There was no significant difference in the incidence of transfusion adverse reactions with leukodepleted red blood cells stored for ≤ 21 days and >21 days.
