BACKGROUND:There are many methods that can repair Pilon fracture, but the effects are not ideal. With the development of science and technology, fundamental change of fracture fixation principle and innovation of technology and idea has brought new opportunities for Pilon fracture repair. Biological immobilization technology can further reduce the further damage to blood supply of bone outer membrane on the fracture end, do not disturb biomechanical environment of fracture healing, and is the new trend of present research and development. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of locking compression plate fixation for repair of Pilon fracture using biological fixation technique. METHODS:Clinical data of 76 patients with Pilon fracture treated using locking compression plate fixation in the Nanhai District Economic Development Zone Guanyao Branch of the People’s Hospital from June 2008 to December 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 49 males and 27 females, at the age of 39.5 years on average (range from 19 to 60 years). According to Ruedi-Algower classification, there were 54 cases of type II and 22 cases of type III. In accordance with biological fixation technique, locking compression plate fixation was applied to treat Pilon fracture. Folowing treatment, they were regularly folowed up. Reduction quality was assessed by Burwel-Charnley radiological criteria. X-ray films were reviewed to observe fracture healing. During final folow-up, ankle function was evaluated according to Baird-Jackson score. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 76 patients were folowed up for 6 to 24 months. Reduction quality assessed by Burwel-Charnley radiological criteria was as folows: anatomic reduction of 68 cases, reduction of 8 cases, 71 cases of one-stage wound healing, and 5 cases of wound healing after dressing change, with the rate of one-stage healing of 93%. Fractures of al patients were healed. The healing time was 4 to 8.5 months, averagely 6.25 months. During final folow-up, ankle function assessed by Baird-Jackson score was as folows: there were 69 excelent cases, 5 good cases and 2 average cases. These results indicate that locking compression plate fixation for Pilon fracture obtained good stability, could effectively avoid the damage of fracture end blood supply, shorten the healing time; it was simple to operate, had smal injury to soft tissue, and was an effective fixation method to repair Pilon fracture.

Objective To investigate the effects of salvianolate lyophilized injection(SLI) on neural functional recovery and the expression of microtubule associated protein-2(MAP2) after focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in the diabetic rats. Methods Diabetes model was made by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) and cerebral ischemia-reperfusion model was developed by Longa suture occluded method in the middle cerebral artery of diabetic rats. The rats were randomly divided into five groups: sham operation group, model group, SLI (21.0 mg.kg-1,10.5 mg.kg-1) treatment groups, and edaravone (6 mg.kg-1) treatment group.3 hours after ischemia, rats were respectively given normal saline or drugs followed by the injection once a day for 14 days and the neurological impairment was assessed.2 h after the last injection, the rats were decapitated and the brains were collected. The expression of MAP2 protein and mRNA in the bilateral hippocampal ischemia and infarcted area was detected with immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR.Results Severe neurological dysfunction was found in diabetic rats that had been subjected to cerebral ischemic injury (1.850±0.457).A significant improvement on neurological function was found in the SLI treatment groups (1.581 ± 0.314, 1.345 ± 0.425) compared with model group(P<0.01, P<0.05).Moreover,the expression of MAP2 in ischemia bilateral hippocampal CA1 and penumbra was represented by the average optical density value respectively (0.743±0.250,0.561± 0.224).In the hippocampal CA1 region, the number of MAP2-positive cells (0.781 ± 0.420 , 0.851 ± 0.136) in the treatment group showed significant increase than those in model group (P<0.01, P<0.05).In the ischemic penumbra region, the number of MAP2-positive cells (0.753±0.235,1.203±0.326) in the treatment group showed significant increase than those in model group (P<0.01, P<0.05).Conclusion The SLI can promote the post-injury neurocognitive function in diabetic rats. The increase of MAP2 expression may be involved in the mechanisms.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2019;40(1):100-103
Objective:
To reveal the relationship between physical fitness and body fat percentage (BFP) among female college students.
Methods:
During March 2017, BFP and fat free mass were measured among 633 randomly selected healthy female college students. All subjects were divided into five groups based on BFP: low weight, normal weight, high body fat, grade I obesity and grade II/III obesity. Grip strength, leg strength, back strength, vital capacity, maximal oxygen uptake, reaction time, sitandreach, back scratch and standing on one foot with closed eyes were tested.
Results:
There were significant differences between all groups in grip strength, back strength, vital capacity, the absolute and relative value of VO2max, back scratch on both sides and standing on one foot with closed eyes(P<0.05). Grade I obesity group showed significant higher vital capacity, but lower relative value of VO2max, back scratch in both sides compared with normal group. Significant differences were observed in relative value of maximum oxygen uptake and back scratch in both sides between high body fat group and grade I obesity(P<0.05). Moreover, grade II/III obesity group showed significantly higher grip strength, back strength, vital capacity and absolute VO2max, but lower relative VO2max, back scratch in both sides and standing on one foot with closed eyes compared with normal and high body fat groups(P<0.05). There were significant differences in all the indicators except back strength and the relative VO2max between grade II/III obesity and grade I obesity group(P<0.05).
Conclusion
The results showed that physical fitness of female college students with normal body fat percentage is significantly better than that of obese peers. Body fat percentage confers damage for cardiopulmonary endurance fitness and upper limb flexibility fitness when higher than 30% and for balance fitness when higher than 35%.

Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of microRNA-10b(miR-10b)on idiopathic short stature(ISS).Methods A total of 54 children with ISS and 54 healthy children were collected. The serum expression of miR-10b was detected by RT-qPCR,and the relationship between serum miR-10b expression and clinical data of children with ISS was analyzed.miR-10b inhibitor,si-TGFBR1 and their negative control transfection C28/I2 cells were used.CCK-8 experimental detection was used to detect C28/I2 cell proliferation.Western blot assay was used to detect gnome related transcription factor 2(RUNX2),collagen type X alpha 1 chain(COL10A1),transforming growth factor beta receptor 1(TGFBR1),SMAD3 and pSMAD3 protein expression. The target of miR-10b was screened in StarBase database, and the targeting relationship between miR-10b and TGFBR1 was verified by dual luciferase reporter gene assay. Results The serum expression of miR-10b was higher in the ISS group than that of the healthy control group, and the higher the miR-10b expression, the more obvious the decrease of child height,IGF-1 and alkaline phosphatase(P<0.05).Compared with the NC group, the cell proliferation ability and RUNX2,COL10A1,TGFBR1,and pSMAD3 protein expression were up-regulated in the miR-10b inhibitor group(P<0.05).StarBase database suggested that miR-10b had a binding site of TGFBR1,and dual luciferase reporter gene assay confirmed that TGFBR1 interacted with miR-10b(P<0.05).Compared with the si-NC group, the expression of TGFBR1 was down-regulated and the cell proliferation ability was decreased in the si-TGFBR1 group(P<0.05).Conclusion miR-10b inhibits chondrocyte proliferation and hypertrophy in idiopathic short stature by targeting TGFBR1/SMAD3 pathway.
