Objective To investigate the effect of interleukin-17 (IL-17) in the gastric cancer cell migration and invasion via regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and its potential function. Methods (1) Human gastric cancer cell MGC-803 lines in the logarithmic growth phase were stimulated by 0, 1 ng/mL, 10 ng/mL,100 ng/mL and 1μg/mL of IL-17 for 48 hours, and the phenotypic changes were observed. The concentration of IL-17 was selected for follow-on experiments based on the most obvious phenotypic changes.Gastric cancer cell MGC-803 which were stimulated by 100 ng/mL of IL-17 and PBS for 48 hours were allocated into the experimental group and control group, respectively.(2) The expressions of E-cadherin and Vimentin mRNA in gastric cancer cells were assayed through real-time PCR (RT-PCR).(3) The relative expressions of E-cadherin and Vimentin proteins in gastric cancer cells were assayed by the Western blot.(4) The scratch test and Transwell detection were also utilized to study the migration and invasion of gastric cancer cell MGC-803 in vitro.Measurement data with normal distribution were presented as-x ± s and comparison between groups was analyzed using the t test. Results (1) There were significant phenotypic changes in the gastric cancer cell after the different concentration of IL-17 stimulated gastric cancer cell MGC-803 for 48 hours.Cells were changed from polygonal and tight junction to spindle and loosely junction with a deterioration of cell adhesion.Cell phenotypes were gradually changed as the concentration of IL-17 was changed from 0 to 100 ng/mL.Phenotypic changes were the most obvious when 100 ng/mL of IL-17 was used, but these were non-significant as the concentration of IL-17 increased to 1 μg/mL with the death and floating of some cells.(2) The relative expressions of E-cadherin mRNA and Vimentin mRNA in RT-PCR were 0.45 ±0.13 and 1.06 ±0.23 in the experimental group and 2.39 ±0.55 and 1.23±0.41 in the control group, respectively, with significant differences (t =3.811, 2.923, P <0.05).(3) The results of Western blot showed the relative expressions of E-cadherin and Vimentin proteins were 0.86 ± 0.17 and 1.56 ± 0.29 in the experimental group and 1.01 ± 0.12 and 0.56 ± 0.17 in the control group, respectively, with significant differences (t =3.551, 3.601, P < 0.05).(4) Cell migration in the 2 groups were detected by the scratch test at 36 hours after scratch test, and the width of scratch in the experimental and control groups were (0.76 ± 0.13) mm and (0.40 ± 0.15) mm, showing a significant difference (t =3.095, P < 0.05).Transwell detection showed number of transmembrane cell in the experimental and control groups were 159 ±28 and 94 ± 18, respectively, with a significant difference (t =3.307, P < 0.05).Conclusion IL-17 can promote the migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells via stimulating alteration of EMT.

Objective To investigate the patterns of change in thyroid functional parameters ( serum TSH,FT3, and FT4 ) in patients with papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) before and after the initial 131I treatment for thyroidal remnant ablation. Methods Seventy-four PTC patients, treated with 3.7 GBq 131 I therapy, were divided into two groups, group A with serum TSH<30 mIU/L and group B with serum TSH ≥30 mIU/L the day before 131I treatment. Five days after the treatment, the patients were re-examined for serum FT3, FT4, and TSH levels. Results In group A (22 cases), 5 days after the 131I ablation treatment, FT4significantly increased by 88% and FT3 by 87%, while TSH decreased by 87% (all P<0. 05 ), and 45% (10/22)cases manifested the signs of transient thyrotoxicosis. In group B (52 cases)after treatment, individual variance of FT3 and FT4 was obvious, with FT4 decreased by 13% and FT3 decreased by 14% ( both P<0. 05 ), while TSH slightly increased by an average of 6% ( P>0.05 ). Conclusion After the initial 131 I ablation therapy for thyroidal remnant, the thyroid hormone levels in some PTC patients significantly increase while in others may slightly decrease in the early stage. The supplementary and suppressive therapy after 131I ablation for PTC patients might be individualized depending on the thyroid hormone determination.

Objective To evallhte factors affecting blood loss during mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy using ureteroscope and pneumatic intracorporeal lithotripsy(MPCNL). Methods 1156MPCNL procedures in 885 patients from July 2002 to October 2006 were reviewed. Various patientrelated and intraoperative factors were assessed for association with total blood loss using multivariate regression analysis. ResuIts The average hemoglobin drop was(14.2+8.3)g/L.The overall blood transfusion rate was 1.5%. Approximately 0.6%of patients required angiography embolization to control intractable bleeding. Multivariate regression analysis showed that the occurrence ot operative complications(6=0.496,P<0.001),size of the tract(b=0.405,P<0.001),mature nephrostomy tract(6=0.377,P<0.001),multiple tracts(6=0.326,P=0.005),size of stone(b=0.210,P=0.015),operative time(6=0.139,P=0.027),renal parenehymal thickness(b=0.128,P=0.035),prior stone intervention(b=-0.121,P=0.038),diabetes(b=0.110,P=0.051),and bacteriuria(b=-0.095,P=0.058)were significant predictors of blood loss.Factors such as age, sex, side, obesity, hypertension, renal function, operating surgeon, anaesthesia, calix of puncture, number of attempts to successful puncture, urine from puncture needle may not affect the blood loss. Concluslons Maneuvers that may reduce blood loss include reducing the operative time, decreasing the occurrence of intraoperative complications, reducing the tract size and tract number, and staging the procedure.Staging the procedure of MPCNL is a judicious decision in case of a large stone burden, intraoperative complications,multiple-tract,lager tract or diabetes.

Objective:
To determine the hemoglobin level and blood pressure and the factors that influence their recovery in relocated workers who were unfit for duties at high altitude.
Methods:
The physical examination data of 693 relocated workers who previously worked at high altitude were dynamically monitored from January 2006 to June 2015 in order to examine the recovery of hemoglobin level and blood pressure.
Results:
The rate of hemoglobin recovery was 81.37% among the 161 relocated workers with abnormal hemoglobin levels, and the rate of blood pressure recovery was 69.51% among the 164 relocated workers with abnormal blood pressure. The rates of hemoglobin and blood pressure recovery were decreased in individuals aged 40 years and older. The peak recovery time of hemoglobin was 11-15 months following relocation, and that of blood pressure was 5-7 months and 11-13 months following relocation. The half-year blood pressure recovery rate and 2-year hemoglobin recovery rate following relocation were significantly higher in workers who worked at 2500-3000 m altitude than in those at ≥3000 m (
