Objective To discuss the characteristics of knee injury in traffic accidents so as to provide an objective basis for its forensic identification. Methods Retrospective analysis was carried out on 201 cases of knee injury in traffic accidents identified by our department from 2006 to 2009.Results According to the types of knee injury, all cases were divided into bone injury group, soft tissue injury group and bone combined soft tissue injury group.Analysis of the knee joint function in the three groups revealed that there were significant differences between bone injury or bone combined soft tissues injury groups and soft tissue injury group in weight bearing including the normal bearing rate and nonbearing rate( P < 0.05,respectively). ConclusionsIf patients' weight loading, walking functions as well as their gait conditions are introduced into the process of forensic identification for the knee injury in traffic accidents, the identification results will be more reasonable.

OBJECTIVETo establish the differential templates of the skeletal profiles for Shanghainese with normal occlusion in early permanent dentition.
METHODS71 lateral cephalometric radiographs of subjects with normal occlusion in early permanent dentition, aged from 11 - 15 years (37 females and 34 males) were traced. 23 skeletal landmarks were identified on the tracings, which afterwards were scanned on the computer. An x-y coordinate system was established: the tracing superimposed on sella rotated 7 degrees down from the sella-nasion line as the x axis and the vertical line through sella perpendicular to the x axis as the y axis. A special length/depth ratio was designed. The length/depth ratio of each graph were calculated. Steiner analysis was applied to check the difference between genders.
RESULTSThere was no difference between genders. The tracings were divided into three categories: short face, normal face and long face according to the mean and standard deviation of the ratio. The three types of tracings were superimposed on the x axis with sella registered. Three templates were created.
CONCLUSIONSThe differences were apparent when the three templates were superimposed.

Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of preoperative chemoradiotherapy or postoperative adjutant chemoradiotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer. Methods The clinical data of 76 patients with locally advanced rectal cancer from 2011 to 2016 in Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital were retrospectively analysed.A total of 30 cases received preoperative chemoradiotherapy (group A),5 of them received concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with bevacizumab target treatment. The other 46 cases (group B) were given post-operative adjutant chemoradiotherapy. Both group A and group B were treated with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).The chemoradiotherapy regime was as follows:the median of target volume dose was 50.4 Gy (45.0-55.8 Gy);the median of chemotherapy sessions was 26 times (24-28 times).Capecitabine tablets (825 mg/m2,twice a day) were also given on the date of chemotherapy. The clinical data and follow-up results of all patients were compared between the two groups. Results The five-year disease free survival rates of group A and group B were 66.7% and 57.7%,respectively;and the five-year overall survival rates of group A and group B were 81.8% and 73.0%,respectively,no statistically significant difference was found between the two groups (P=0.599,0.489).The anus-preserving rates of patients with tumor below peritoneal reflection in group A and group B were 56.52% and 25.00%,there was statistically significant difference (P=0.045).In the group A,86.6 % patients resulted in down-staging,including 3 cases with complete pathologic response. Conclusion Preoperative chemotherapy could down tumor stage and improve rates of anal preservation and local control without increasing possibility of postoperative complications.Preoperative chemotherapy in combination with bevacizumab target treatment may be more effective in lowering tumor stage.

Objective:To screen differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)in the hippocampus of epileptic rats,pro-viding ideas for further exploring the pathogenesis and drug therapeutic targets of epilepsy. Methods:The epileptic rat model(PTZ group)induced by pentylenetetrazol(PTZ).The protein profiles of hippocampal tissues of the PTZ group and control groups were detected by isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ)combined with LC-MS/MS technology, and the fold changes in the protein expression of the PTZ group versus the control group was considered to be more than 1.5 or less than 0.67,and P<0.05 was taken as the criteria for screening DEPs.Then DEPs were subjected to bioinformatics analyses such as Gene Ontology(GO)functional annotation and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analysis. Results:A total of 80 proteins showed significantly different expression, which included 39 up-regulated and 41 down-regulated.GO analysis showed that the up-regulated DEPs were mainly involved in biological processes such as cellular response to nerve growth factor stimulus, axon develop-ment,cell surface receptor signaling pathway, neuron migration, actin filament depolymerization, and signal transduc-tion,while down-regulated DEPs were mainly involved in biological processes such as tricarboxylic acid cycle, citrate metabolism process,acetyl-CoA biosynthetic process from pyruvate, oxaloacetate metabolism process, and regulation of focal adhesion assembly.KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that up-regulated DEPs were mainly involved in five signaling pathways, including AMPK signaling pathway, regulation of actin cytoskeleton, sphingolipid signaling pathway, phenylalanine metabolism, and insulin signaling pathway; The down-regulated DEPs were mainly involved in six signaling pathways, including the citric acid cycle, carbon metabolism, acetate and dicarboxylate metabolism,meta-bolic pathways, amino acid biosynthesis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis signaling pathways. Conclusion:DEPs from epileptic hippocampal tissues were screened by iTRAQ proteomics, and the metabolic pathways enriched by bioinformat-ics methods for DEPs may be closely related to the pathogenesis of epilepsy.

Objective:
To investigate the expression and significance of NF-κB in oral squamous cell carcinoma and paracancerous tissues.
Methods:
Cancerous and paracancerous tissues about 5 mm outside the tumor boundary were cut from 47 patients with OSCC. NF-κB expression in these tissues were detected by the immunohistochemical SP method and compared with that in 32 normal oral mucosa tissues.
Results :
The average optical density (OD value) of immunohistochemical-positive cells in cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues was higher than that in normal tissues, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.001). There was no significant difference in the OD values between cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues (P=0.356). The rate of NF-κB positive expression in cancer tissue and paracancerous tissue was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa tissue, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.001). There was no significant difference in the rate of NF-κB positive expression between cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues (P=0.117), but the rate of moderate-to-strong positive expression in cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in paracancerous tissues (P < 0.001).
Conclusion
NF-κB may be involved in the development of OSCC.
