1.Traumatic False Aneurysm: Report of Two Cases.

False aneurysm is one of the complications of untreated arterial injury. Most traumatic aneurysms in the extremities are false, and they are usually caused by penetrating trauma. The pathogenesis of false aneurysm is initiated by a damaged artery that allows hemorrhage into surrounding soft tissue, an encapsulated hematoma is then formed, which undergoes organization, with invasion of fibrin and con-nective tissue, and the endothelialization of its central cavity, which communicates with the arterial defect, forming the false aneurysm. We experienced two cases of traumatic false anerysm of a left anterior tibial artery and a right radial artery, which were treated successfully by end-to-end anastomosis in the former and a saphenous vein graft in the latter.

2.A Case of Vibrio cholerae Non-O1/O139 Gastroenteritis.

Vibrio cholerae non-O1/O139 strains are the organisms that are biochemically indistinguishable from V. cholerae but do not agglutinate in Vibrio cholerae O1 and O139 antisera. V. cholerae non-O1/O139 strains are associated with gastroenteritis and extraintestinal infections such as bacteremia, peritonitis and wound infections. Gastroenteritis by V. cholerae non-O1/O139 is uncommon in Korea. We isolated V. cholerae non-O1/O139 from a stool specimen of a one year-old female with diarrhea and high fever.

3.Loss of Distal Femur Combined with Popliteal Artery Occlusion: Reconstructive Arthroplasty Using Modular Segmental Endoprosthesis: A Case Report.

Severe injury to the knee and the surrounding area is frequently associated with injury to ligaments of the knee joint and structures in the popliteal fossa. This case involved a popliteal artery occlusion, severe bone loss of distal femur, loss of collateral ligaments, and extensor mechanism destruction of the knee. Initially, prompt recognition and correction of associated popliteal artery injury are important for good results after treatment. After successful revascularization, treatment for severe bone loss of distal femur and injury of the knee joint must be followed. We treated this case by delayed reconstruction using modular segmental endoprosthesis after revascularization of the popliteal artery. This allowed early ambulation. At 36 months after surgery, the patient had good circulation of the lower limb and was ambulating independently.

4.Osteochondromas of the Bilateral Tali.

Benign and malignant tumors are found in the foot, although the incidence is low. The most common bone tumor in the foot is osteochondroma, which is thought to develop in bones that form through the process of enchondral ossification. In particularly, osteochondromas in the foot mostly occur in metatarsal bones and phalanges. It is seldom found in talus. It is usually confused with osteophyte or enthesis. We report an osteochondroma case confirmed by roentgenographical and pathological investigation, after removing the masses form bilateral tali of a 19-year-old male patient presented with bilateral ankle joint pain for three years.
