This study was aimed to discuss the influence of specific acupoint acupuncture therapy to the serum angiogenesis factor of high fat diet obese mouse models. Mice were randomly divided into the blank control group , acupuncture control group , model control group , and acupuncture treatment group . There were 6 mice in each group . Obese mouse models were induced after 15-week high fat diet . The specific acupoint acupunc-ture therapy was used as an intervention treatment method for 10 days . The enzyme-linked immunosorbent as-say (ELISA) was used in the detection of serum insulin, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor , leptin and the level of nitric oxide in mice . The results showed that the serum insulin , nitric oxide and leptin level in the obese mouse models were increased . However , there were no obvious changes on the vascular endothelial growth factor and soluble vascular endothelial growth fac-tor receptor level . The specific acupoint acupuncture therapy can obviously reduce the level of serum nitric ox-ide and leptin, and improve the content of vascular endothelial growth factor in obese mouse models. However, there were no influence on the level of blood glucose and soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor . It was concluded that the specific acupoint acupuncture therapy method had preferable antiobesity action . Its mechanism of action may be related to the regulation of angiogenesis .

Chinese Medical Journal 2003;116(12):1827-1830
OBJECTIVETo investigate retrospectively the efficacy of cyclosporine A (CsA) in the treatment of membranous lupus nephropathy (MLN).
METHODSTwenty-four patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and biopsy-proven MLN were treated with CsA in combination with prednisone. CsA was given at a starting dosage of 5 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) for 3 months, with a 1 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) reduction every month and then maintained at a dosage of 2 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1). The dosage of oral prednisone differed from person to person according to levels of extra-renal activity. Clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were retrospectively analyzed. Complete remission was defined as having a urinary proteinuria level (Upr) of < 0.4 g/d, and normal serum albumin and serum creatinine (SCr) levels, without SLE activity. Partial remission was defined as having a UPr decrement > 50% of baseline value and a serum albumin value of 30 - 35 g/L, without SLE activity. No response was defined as having a Upr decrement < 50% of baseline value and > 2.0 g/d, or as a deterioration of renal function, or as having active SLE.
RESULTSOne patient could no longer undergo follow-up, and the other 23 patients were treated with CsA and followed up for 6 - 36 months (mean 16.8 +/- 8.4 months). The mean starting dosage of CsA was 4.7 +/- 0.5) mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) and the trough level of the whole blood CsA was 248 +/- 110) micro g/L. Twelve patients (52.2%) achieved complete remission, 10 patients (43.3%) achieved partial remission after CsA treatment, and one patient showed no response. At different CsA treatment timepoint, the complete remission rates were 17.4% (3rd month), 21.7% (6th month), 40% (12th month), 88.9% (18th month) and 100% (24th month) respectively. SCr elevation, when within a normal limit was not observed in most patients during early CsA administration, and at the end of the follow-up all the patients had a normal SCr. Relapse occurred in 33.3% of the patients after withdrawing CsA for 4 - 24 months. No chronic CsA renal toxicity was observed in 4 patients who had a repeat renal biopsy after CsA treatment for 6 - 24 months.
CONCLUSIONSCsA could be regarded as an effective therapy for patients with membranous lupus nephropathy, but its adverse effects, especially its nephrotoxicity, should be carefully monitored during CsA treatment.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2023;22(8):844-848
Objective:To analyze the clinicopathological features of intraabdominal bronchogenic cyst. Methods:The clinical data of 8 patients with intraabdominal bronchogenic cyst admitted in 3 Grade-A tertiary hospitals in Yunnan province between 2014 and 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical and pathological features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of intraabdominal bronchogenic cyst were reviewed. Results:There were 1 male and 7 females with an mean age of 45±12 years (21-65 years). Two patients presented with abdominal pain and 5 asymptomatic patients were found during physical examination. The cysts were located in retroperitoneum in 4 cases, located between the pancreas tail, spleen and the posterior wall of the stomach in 2 cases, located in the posterior wall of the stomach in 1 case, and located close to left adrenal gland in 1 case. Two patients had elevated tumor markers, while tumor markers in the remaining 6 cases were normal. Seven cases underwent laparoscopic complete cyst resection and 1 case had open surgical resection. The wall of most cysts were lined with respiratory epithelium and composed of goblet cells or pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium. The wall of cysts was composed of fibrous connective tissue or smooth muscle bundles, and the cavity contained serous mucous glands. Two cases showed cartilage tissue and one showed the infiltration of large number of inflammatory cells. The mean follow-up time was 31±32 months (range 5-107 months), and no recurrence or metastasis was found during the follow-up.Conclusions:Abdominal bronchogenic cyst is often found in adulthood, and most cases are symptomatic and found during physical examination. The diagnosis mainly depends on pathological examination, and tumor markers are not specific for its diagnosis. Surgery is the best way for treatment.

AIM:We investigated how AT 1-R stimulated by mechanical stresses induces cardiac fibrosis .METHODS:We produced in vivo cardiac pressure overload model in angiotensinogen knockout ( ATG-/-) mice and in vitro mechanically-stretched cell model in cultured neonatal cardiac cells of ATG-/-mice both lack the participation of Ang II .RESULTS: Pressure overload for 4 weeks in ATG-/-mice induced myocardial hypertrophy accompanied by the significant interstitial fibrosis , however , the TGF-β, a key regulatory factor of fibrosis, was not significantly increased in these ATG-/-mice.Meanwhile, the inhibitor for AT1-R significantly inhibited mechani-cal stress-induced cardiac fibrosis in these ATG-/-models whereas inhibition of TGF-βdid not.CONCLUSION:The results showed that mechanical stress-induced fibrotic responses through AT 1-R required the phosphorylation of Smad 2 but not the involvement of TGF-β.
