Angiogenesis is an important pathophysiological process of body response after cerebral ischemia.Angiogenesis is activated in a few hours after cerebral ischemia. It can promote neuronal remodeling and neurological function recovery.Studies have shown that the microvessel density is positively correlated with the long-term survival rate in patients with stroke after cerebral ischemia. This article reviews the regulatory mechanisms and imaging evaluation of angiogenesis after cerebral ischemia.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects and safety of atorvastatin combined with probucol on the vascular elasticity in patienits with hypertension. METHODS:246 hypertensive patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group,123 cases in each group. All patients received conventional antigypertensive treatment, based on it,control group was given 10 mg Atorvastatin tablet,qd;observation group was additionally given 0.25 g Probucol tablet,qd,on the basis of control group. They were treated for 1 year. Clinical efficacy, lipid levels(total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol),cystatin C (Cys-C),C-reactive protein (CRP),elastic parameters of common carotid artery and lower limb artery(stiffness,pressure-strain elastic modulus, compliance, augmentation index, pulse wave velocity)before and af-ter treatment in 2 groups were observed, and the incidence of adverse reactions was compared. RESULTS:Before treatment, there were no significant differences in lipid levels,Cys-C,CRP and elastic parameters of common carotid artery and lower between 2 groups (P>0.05);after treatment, the above-mentioned indexes were significantly improved, and the improvement degree in ob-servation group was superior to control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). And there were no severe ad-verse reactions during treatment in both 2 groups. CONCLUSIONS:Atorvastatin combined with probucol can improve lipid level and elasticity of common carotid artery and lower limb artery, with good safety.

Objective To evaluate the clinical outcomes and report the second-look arthroscopic findings of reconstructed anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) using deep-frozen allograft. Methods Sixty-six patients undergoing ACL reconstruction using deep-frozen allograft in our institute with at least twelve months follow-up from January 2012 to March 2016 were included and received second-look arthroscopy. The patients consisted of 51 males and 15 females with an average age of 30.6 years (range,18 to 55 years) at the time of ACL reconstruction.Knee functions were evaluated by Lysholm score and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score.Knee stability was evaluated by drawer test,Lachman test and KT-1000 arthrometer.Second-look arthroscopic evaluation was performed in all patients, focused on continuity of the reconstructed ACL,the synovial coverage and subjective tension of the graft, and the prevalence of cyclops-like lesion and other changes after reconstruction procedures.Resuits All patients were followed up for average 18.3 months (range,12 to 36 months).Thirty-one patients underwent second-look arthroscopy from 12 to 18 months, and the other 35 patients underwent second-look arthroscopy from 18 to 36 months after ACL reconstruction. No infection, rejection reaction and other serious complication were reported after operation. The knee range of motion was normal in all cases, except that 10° extension limitation in one case. The Lysholm score significantly improved from preoperative 54.95±9.01 to 12 months postoperatively 86.14±5.86,and the IKDC improved from 54.79±9.12 to 85.11±5.77.Lachman test was positive in 8 cases, but negative in 58 cases postoperatively.KT-1000 arthrometer measurement showed that the side-toside difference significantly improved from preoperative 6.70± 1.24 mm to postoperative 1.52± 1.02 mm.Complete discontinuity occurred in 2 cases of the reconstructed grafts, graft tear in 4 cases.Cyclops-like mass was identified in 2 cases. The overall synovial coverage was slightly better in the patients who were followed up more than 18 months than those less than 18 months. However, there was no significant difference among the groups in the field of graft tension. The patients with taut grafts showed statistically better KT-1000 values (1.14±0.35 mm) than those with lax grafts (2.95±1.38 mm). Conclusion Frozen allograft could be a reasonable choice for ACL reconstruction. However, the graft integration and remodeling could tend to be slow.

Purpose Lipotoxicity plays an important role in the progression of diabetes and its complications, and the gold standards for organs' lipid quantification are biopsy or histochemical staining, which are invasive and have their own limitations. Thus, our research was to identify the difference in organ lipid deposition between type 2 diabetic patients and healthy volunteers by using noninvasive three-point T2* corrected Dixon imaging.Materials and Methods Sixty-five type 2 diabetic patients and 34 healthy volunteers were included in this study. All participants underwent three-echo Dixon with 3.0T MR imager.Dixon imaging parameters [hepatic fat fraction (HFF),splenic fat fraction (SFF),pancreatic fat fraction (PFF)] were collected. All of the MRI parameters were compared. The relationship between HFF,SFF,PFF and BMI,age were analyzed. Results The hepatic and splenic lipid percentage in diabetic group [HFF=(5.4±4.3)%;SFF=(3.7± 1.4)%] was significantly higher than healthy volunteers group [HFF=(2.9± 1.3)%;SFF=(3.0± 0.9)%;P<0.05,respectively].However,there was no significant difference in pancreatic fat fraction between diabetic and healthy groups (P>0.05).There were positive correlations between HFF,SFF,PFF and BMI (r=0.379,0.305 and 0.306,P<0.05).Moreover,only the positive correlation between pancreatic fat fraction and age were observed (r=0.261,P<0.05).Conclusion The three-point T2* corrected Dixon revealed the abnormalities of hepar and spleen lipid accumulation in diabetic patients. Thus, the three-point Dixon imaging may potentially aid in evaluating the lipid deposition of abdominal organs.
