1.Object identification and data extraction in XRII images for C-arm based surgical navigation
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(48):9443-9446
It is a key technique of C-arm based surgical navigation to recognize circular objects and extract their geometric data from XRII images. Previous methods possess low detecting & extracting accuracy and low reliability. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid object detecting algorithm. Firstly, an improved Circle Hough Transform (CHT) was used to obtain the accumulative space, and the section of the space was used to acquire a binarized image. Secondly, connected component analysis method was used to recognize circular objects and extract their areas and center coordinates. In the improved CHT, mask and integral operator were redefined. In the connected component analysis, a new circle measurement was used. Results of the study showed that the proposed algorithm possesses high detecting ratio, high detecting accuracy, and reliability.

Objective To explore the characteristics of P300 of subjects with attention deficit/hyperactive disorder(ADHD).Methods 34 children with ADHD were selected as ADHD group and 32 healthy subjects were selected as the health control group. They were matched in age, gender, degree of education. The auditory Oddball paradigm was applied, the event-related long latency components (N2 and P3) from Cz and Pz were measured in each test. Results Compared with the health control group,at the Cz electrode, children with ADHD showed a significandy prolonged latency of target N2 [(277.2 ± 20.3) ms vs (259.0 ± 14.9) ms,t =3.70,P < 0.01] and decreased amplitude of target P3[(4.1 ± 1.6) μμV vs (5.7 ±2.0) μμV,t =3.57,P< 0.01].At the Pz electrode, the patient showed a significantly prolonged latency [(342.4 ± 26.3) ms vs (324.6 ± 15.5) ms,t =3.33,P < 0.01] and decreased amplitude of target P3 [(4.1 ± 1.9) μV vs (7.4 ± 2.2) μV,t =6.54,P < 0.01],decreased amplitude of non-target P2 [(3.0±1.l)μμV vs (3.7 ±1.3) μV,t =2.30,P<0.05].Conclusion This study provides direct evidence that ADHD subjects have abnormal indices of endogenous P300,which is suggested that P300 might be potentially objective indicator applied in evaluation of cognitive dysfunction in ADHD children.

BACKGROUND:Ultrasound therapy can relieve pain and improve the movement function in patients with knee osteoarthritis, but there lacks of consistency in the literatures of ultrasound therapy.
OBJECTIVE:To further identify the effectiveness of ultrasound therapy in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
METHODS:Twenty-four rabbits were randomly divided into three groups:normal group, model group and ultrasound group. The rabbit in the normal group received no intervention;rabbits in the model group received anterior cruciate ligament transaction to establish the knee osteoarthritis model without any treatment;the rabbit in the ultrasound group received ultrasound therapy after modeling for 10 minutes once time, once per day, 0.3 W/cm2 , 1 MHz and treated for 10 times. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was conducted for histological observation of rabbit articular cartilage;western blot and reverse transcription PCR assessment were used to assess the expressions of caspases-3 and caspases-8 in rabbit articular cartilage, while Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling was used to assess the ratio of chondrocytes apoptosis of rabbit knee articular cartilage.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The normal rabbit cartilage tissues and chondrocytes were neatly arranged in column;the middle cartilage layer of the model was thin;the chondrocytes were arranged disorderly and became less. After ultrasound therapy, the chondrocytes were rearranged neatly, and the number was increased. Compared with the normal group, the Mankin scores in the model group and ultrasound group were higher;the apoptotic rate of chondrocytes was higher in the model group and ultrasound group than in the normal group, and was also higher in the model group than in the ultrasound group. Compared with the normal group, the expressions of caspases-3 and caspases-8 were higher in the model group and the ultrasound group, while decreased after ultrasound therapy. The results indicate that ultrasound can improve the structure of cartilage tissues, decrease the expressions of caspases-3 and caspases-8 and reduce the apoptosis rate of chondrocytes. It is effective for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with ultrasound therapy.

Objective To characterize the static balance and limits of stability (LOS) of postmenopausal women and evaluate the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD) and balance. Methods Sixty women more than 12 months past menopause and aged 50 to 60 years were included in the study.Group 1 (n =20) consisted of women with normal BMD,group 2 (n =20) women with osteopenia, and group 3 (n =20) women with osteoporosis. The static balance of all the participants was evaluated in upright postural situations for 60 s with the eyes open and with the eyes elosed.Their LOS was quantified using a force platform. Results There was no significant difference in static balance parameters or LOS among the 3 groups. The static balance parameters were not significantly different in either the eyes-open or eyes-closed situation in the osteoporosis and osteopenia groups. The medial and lateral LOS were greater than the anterior and posterior limits in all 3 groups. The anterior LOS was greater than the posterior limits among the women with osteopenia and normal density. Conclusion In postmenopausal women aged 50 to 60 years,BMD did not show any significant association with static balance or LOS.Postmenopausal women had better postural control in the mediolateral than in the anteroposterior direction. In postmenopausal women with osteoporosis, postural control in the anterior direction deteriorates from age 50 to 60.

Objective:To establish and evaluate the effect of graded training mode of clinical nutrition nursing in general hospital. Methods:A clinical nutrition nursing group was established, including core management group, quality control group, education and training group and liaison nurse group. Hierarchical training and practice of clinical nutrition nursing was conducted throughout the hospital, and effect of training was evaluated. Results:The nurses' nutrition knowledge increased from (66.60±9.72) to (85.06±7.85) points, nutrition attitude increased from (72.38±5.55) to (92.50±5.10) points, nutrition behavior increased from (66.87 ± 6.83) to (88.76 ± 7.60) points, and the differences were statistically significant ( t values were -15.520, -11.128, -12.238, P<0.01). The nutritional risk screening rate and nutritional intervention rate of patients were improved to 100%, and the academic level of nurses in nutritional nursing was further improved. Conclusion:The application of graded training mode of clinical nutrition nursing can improve nurses' nutritional knowledge and skills, improve nurses' professional and academic level, and improve patient clinical outcomes.

Objective:
To explore the effect of individualized nutrition intervention mode based on dysphagia screening in postoperative patients with cerebellopontine angle occupying lesion.
Methods:
By developing nurses training, selecting special screening and evaluation tools, developing screening methods and individualized nutrition intervention measures and meal spectrum, making screening and intervention flow chart, and starting to be implemented in postoperative patients with cerebellopontine angle occupying lesion in July 2017. Forty-six patients with cerebellopontine angle occupying lesion in the previous year were reviewed as the control group, who were given routine treatment and nursing; One year after implementation, Another 48 patients were set as the experimental group, and were given individualized nutritional care based on screening of dysphagia.
Results:
The incidence rate of dominant aspiration(0), pneumonia (4.17%, 2/48) and diarrhea (2.08%,1/48) in the experimental group was lower than 4.35% (2/46), 21.74% (10/46), 19.57% (9/46) in the control group, especially the difference of incidence rate of pneumonia and diarrhea was statistically significant (pneumonia:
