Aim To study the anti-tumor activity of PQEP and it s immunomodulation effect.Methods The pharmacological activity of PQS was measured using mice transplanted H22 and MFC tumor. Tumor-inhibiting a ctivities, weight of immune organ, nature killer cells activity and lymphocyte p roliferation ratio were investigated.Results PQEP showed antitumo r and immunomodulation activities in different degrees.Conclusion The anti-tumor activity and immunomodulation are closely linked. The anti- tumor effect of PQEP due to activation of the immunocompetence of the body.

Aim This research was performed to study the anticancer effects of Panax quinquefolium effective parts (PQEP) in human chronic myeloid leukemia (K562). Method After K562 cells were routinely cultured,MTT assay was performed for cytotoxicity test. Cytotoxicity of PQEP (6.25～400 mg?L -1) in K562 cells was increased in a dose-and time-dependent manner. To explore the mechanism of cytotoxicity, we used several measures of apoptosis to determine whether these processes were involved in PQEP-induced leukemic cell death.Results PQEP induced the cell shrinkage, cell membrane blebbing, chromosomes condensation and DNA fragment. In addition, the flow cytometric analysis revealed PQEP (10～400 mg?L -1) dose-dependently increased apoptotic cells with hypodiploid DNA contents. Conclusion These results indicate that PQEP can control leukemic K562 cells through apoptosis and may have a possibility of potential anticancer activities.

Objective To develop multimedia network testing system on"three-primary" Training.Methods Java was used to develop the application program,MySQL was used to establish database of test questions.The stable communication protocol(SOAP,Web service,etc.) and link were applied.Results With this system,random test questions and choices are provided;questions are answered by human-computer interaction;answer time is restricted;the paper is automatically scored;database of test questions is managed openly;test paper is automatically set.Conclusion This testing system is highly automatic,secure,impersonal,extensible,stable,open and efficient.

Objective To prepare a radiofrequency (RF) ablation probe guided by endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) and to evaluate its efficacy and safety. Methods A modified 19-gauge needle ( Olympus) was used, which was electrically insulated with shrink tubing, with the tip of lcm naked. The insulation was tested, and the current signal was stable. Three rabbits were anesthetized with 8% chloral hydrate ( 3 ml/kg) intraperitoneally, fixed on the dissecting table. A standard neutral pad was applied to the thigh of the rabbit to complete the electrical circuit, both the pad and the needle electrode connected with RF generator. After anesthesia was ready, the needle was advanced through the gastric wall into the liver. Ablations were performed three times in the same zone. Extent and tissue lesion were measured after ablation. Results Ablation could be successfully performed by the needle electrode, with brown lesions surrounded by normal hepatic tissue. The mean diameter of the ablated zone in the liver was 1.0 cm× 1.2 cm. After ablation,specimens along the passage were subjected to NADH staining, and no lesions were found. HE and NADH staining showed no viable cells in the central ablation area. Conclusion With the advance of the technology and selection of materials, an EUS-guided needle electrode can be made. This preliminary animal trial demonstrates that radiofrequency ablation can be performed effectively and safely by using this EUS-guided needle electrode.

Objective To study the quantitative expression and the correlation of the NF-κB p65,COX-2 and MMP-9 Drotein in the hypopharyngeal carcinoma tissue.Methods FCM method was performed to detect the quantitative expression of the NF-κB p65,COX-2 and MMP-9 protein in 48 cases of hypopharyngeal carcinoma fresh sample and 48 cases of para-carcinoma tissue.Fluorescence Index wasdeftned as the quantitative expression index of the three proteins.Results The quantitative expression of the NF-κB p65,COX-2 and MMP-9 in hypopharyngeal carcinoma tissues(1.16,1.32 and 1.26) was remarkably higher than in para-carcinoma(1.03,1.04 and 1.04).The quantitative expression of three proteins in metastasis group was obviously higher than in non-metastasis group.The expression of NF-κB p65 and COX-2 protein in hypopharvngeal carcinoma tissues was positively related (P＜0.05). Conclusion The high expression of NF-κB p65 and COX-2 is closely related in hypopharyngeal carcinoma tissues.NF-κB p65 might improve the expression of COX-2.

Purpose:To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of vindercine(VDS)in the interven- tional treatment of hepatic and pulmonary carcinomas.Materials and Methods:30 cases of mid-ad- vanced hepatic and pulmonary carcinomas,among them,13 eases of primary hepatic carcinomas,7 cases of matastic hepatic carinomas and 10 cases of primary pulmonary carcinomas,were treated by selective arterial infusion chemotherapy.The combination chemotherapeutic regimens conpored of VDS together with 5-Fu,MMC,carboplatin or Vp16.Results:The response rate for all cases was 60%,for primary hepatic carcinomas 61.5%,for metastic hepatic carcinoma 42.9% and for primary pulmonary carcinoma 70%.Myelosuppession was the main toxicity and 70% patients had the gastrointertional reac- tions as nusea,vomiting etc.Conclusion:VSD is a more effective drug for pulmonary carcinoma,but for hepatic carcinoma,the efficacy of VDS was unmarkable from other drugs.

Objective To evaluate the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of primary duodenal carcinoma. Methods The clinical data of 41 cases with primary duodenal carcinoma admired during 2000-2007 were analyzed retrospectively. Results Clinical manifestation was not specific, including abdominal pain, abdominal distention, jaundice, bowel obstruction or bleeding. The correct diagnosis rate of endoscopy, duodenography, ultrasound and CT was 86%, 90%, 20% and 33% respectively. 23 cases underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy, 6 cases received segmental duodenectomy, 9 cases received bypass operation and 3 cases underwent biopsy. Overall postoperative 5-year survival rate was 18%. Univariate analysis revealed that the operation types, tumor histology, depth of tumor invatian, lymphatic invasion correlated with prognosis. Multivariate analysis showed that only the operative types, depth of tumor invasion and lymphatic invasion were independent prognostic factors. Conclusions Duodenography and endoscopy are major methods for diagnosis of primary duodenal carcinoma. Pancreaticoduodenectomy is the choice of therapy for primary duodenal carcinoma.

Objective To examine whether speckle tracking imaging(STI) could provide for the assessment of acute cardiac rejection. Methods Hearts from Brown Norway rats or Lewis rats were transplanted into other Brown Norway rats. Isografts and groups of allografts either untreated or treated with cyclosporin A (CsA) at a low dose (3 mg ·kg-1 ·d-1) or high dose (10mg · kg-1 ·d-1) from 1　day before transplantation were compared at posttransplantation day 7. Results Echocardiography-derived left ventricular post wall thickness was increased only in untreated allografts. The left ventricular eject fraction was significant lower in the allografts compared with isograft, but allografts treated without or with low-dose CsA showed similar results. The radial systolic radial strain rate showed a lower value in untreated allografts than other grafts,but there was no significant differences between allograft treated with high- or low-dose CsA and isografts. The circumferential strain and circumferential strain rate was comparable among the 4 groups. However the radial strain exhibited a clear gradient in these groups [(2. 8 ± 1.3)％ in untreated allografts, (5.2 ± 0.9)％ in allografts treated with low-dose CsA, (6.3 ± 1.8 )％ in allografts treated with high-dose CsA,and (12.7 ± 7.9) in isografts, P＜0.001]. The radial strain exhibited a clear correlation with the severity of rejection ( r =-0.812, P＜ 0.0000). Conclusions The radial strain decreased as the severity of rejection worsen. STI offers promise as a noninvasive method for detecting transplant allograft rejection.

Objective This study was to analyze the early and long-term effect of completion pneumonectomy.Methods Retrospective analysis was made on the patients who underwent completion pneummonectomy in Shanghai Chest Hospital.Results There were totally 56 cases patients underwent completion pneumonectomy during January 2003 to July 2013.Among them,45 patients received CCP,and other 11 patients received RCP.CCP refers to the complete removal of lung tissue remaining after an initial ipsilateral partial pulmonary resection.RCP refers to the complete removal of residual lung due to the severe complications after pneumonectomy.The mortality and morbidity rate of CCP were 4.4％ and 33.3％ respectively.In the case of CCP,the incidence of benign lesions is significantly higher than the incidence of malignant tumor(80.0％ vs 27.5％,P =0.04).The mortality and morbidity rate of RCP were 27.3％ and 90.9％ respectively.In the case of RCP,higher postoperative mortality often occurs in aged patients (P =0.046) and patients with preoperatie mechanical ventilation (P =0.03).Overall five-year survival rate for patients with benign lesions was 80％,and for malignant lung cancer patients,the number was 30％.Survival time differs according to the TNM staging(a median of 60.0 months,35.0 months,10.0 months,stage Ⅰ,stage Ⅱ,stage Ⅲ,P ＜0.01),and survival rate was higher when the time interval(between the initial pulmonary resection and the completion pneumonectomy) ＞ 2 years(a median of 60.0 months,18.0 months,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Completion pneumonectomy is a high-risk surgery,especially RCP.Advanced age and preoperative mechanical ventilation are associated with higher postoperative mortality rate for RCP.As for CCP,higher postoperative risk exists in patients with benign lesions,but the survival rate is also higher.In patients with malignant lung tumor,survival rate is higher when the time interval (between the initial pulmonary resection and the completion pneumonectomy) ＞2 year.
