Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2016;49(9):648-650
Objective To investigate the characteristics, treatment and prognosis of Rowell's syndrome. Methods Clinical data were collected from 6 inpatients with Rowell's syndrome from July 2009 to July 2015,and retrospectively analyzed. Results All the patients were female,of them,2 developed skin lesions after sun exposure,2 had medication history,1 had Staphylococcus aureus infection before occurrence of skin lesions, and 1 had no obvious precipitating factor.Skin lesions spread from the face to the whole body in 4 cases, from the dorsal hauds to the whole body in 1 case, and were confined to the face, both hands and feet in 1 case. All the 6 patients had chilblain-like lesions in the digit tips, and 5 patients had fever.Among these patients,6 were positive for antinuclear antibodies (granular pattern),4 for anti-Sm antibodies,5 for anti-U 1RNP antibodies,4 for anti-SSA antibodies,2 for anti-dsDNA antibodies, and 1 was positive for both anti-SSA and anti-SSB antibodies.Histopathological examination revealed hyperkeratinization, mild hyperplasia, partial necrosis, many dyskeratocytes, liquifaction degeneration of basal cells in the epidermis, and perivascular infiltration of lymphocytes in the superficial dermis. After admission,1 patient was finally diagnosed with subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE),and 5 with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).All the 6 patients were treated with prednisone at a dose of 0.6-1.0 mg·kg-1 ·d-1,and 1 was also treated with gamma globulin (200 mg/d).During the process of glucocorticoid tapering, hydroxychloroquine was administered at 0.2 g twice a day.During 1-year follow-up,neither erythema multiform nor chilblain-like lesions recurred in 5 patients, and 1 patient was lost to follow-up.Conclusions Rowell's syndrome frequently occurs in women.Glucocorticoids are a mainstay of its treatment, and their tapering should be slower in patients with Rowell's syndrome than in those with lupus erythematosus.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of combined anterior and posterior approaches in treatment of severely unstable lower lumbar burst fractures. Methods A retrospective case series study was made on clinical data of 14 patients with lower lumbar burst fractures collected from August 2009 to August 2014.There were 12 males and 2 females, with a mean age of 39 years.Seven fractures occurred at L3,five at L4,and two at L5.Nine patients were associated with injury to the posterior ligament complex (PLC).According to the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) classification, the spinal injuries were rated as grade B in two patients, grade C in four, grade D in five and grade E in three. All patients underwent posterior pedicle screw fixation combined with anterior spinal canal decompression and titanium mesh or iliac bone grafting.Lumbar lordosis angle, vertebral height, spinal canal decompression,ASIA grade and complications were evaluated after operation. Results Two patients experienced cerebrospinal fluid leakage postoperatively, which were healed after 2 weeks' local pressure treatment.Three patients experienced recurrent lumbar pain postoperatively, which were relieved after the removal of internal fixation 18 months after operation. All patients were followed up for 12-36 months (mean,18 months).Compared to the detection before operation, final follow-up showed improved lumbar lordosis [(30.2 ± 7.3) ° vs.(41.3 ± 6.5) °],decreased loss of the anterior vertebral height [(62.3 ± 21.5) % vs.(11.8 ± 7.8) %] and reduced canal compromise [(65.7 ± 30.5) % vs.(21.9 ± 12.7)%] (all P < 0.05).ASIA grade was significantly improved at the final follow-up,including grade C in one patient, grade D in three and grade E in ten (P < 0.05).Follow-up showed no apparent graft loosening, pseudarthrosis, implant breakage and severe kyphosis. Conclusion Combined anterior and posterior approaches to treat severely unstable lower lumbar burst fractures can effectively reconstruct the height and stability of the vertebral body, restore the spinal canal volume, and attain satisfactory clinical outcome.

Objective To study the quantitative expression and the correlation of the NF-κB p65,COX-2 and MMP-9 Drotein in the hypopharyngeal carcinoma tissue. Methods FCM method was performed to detect the quantitative expression of the NF-κB p65,COX-2 and MMP-9 protein in 48 cases of hypopharyngeal carcinoma fresh sample and 48 cases of para-carcinoma tissue.Fluorescence Index wasdeftned as the quantitative expression index of the three proteins. Results The quantitative expression of the NF-κB p65,COX-2 and MMP-9 in hypopharyngeal carcinoma tissues(1.16,1.32 and 1.26) was remarkably higher than in para-carcinoma(1.03,1.04 and 1.04).The quantitative expression of three proteins in metastasis group was obviously higher than in non-metastasis group. The expression of NF-κB p65 and COX-2 protein in hypopharvngeal carcinoma tissues was positively related (P<0.05). Conclusion The high expression of NF-κB p65 and COX-2 is closely related in hypopharyngeal carcinoma tissues.NF-κB p65 might improve the expression of COX-2.

A medical studies have indicated that there would be a defense response from human body after TBI,which mainly comes with inflammatory reaction. Human body's resistance seems likely to be enhanced, during this process, by inflammatory cytokines leading to rehabilitation of the cellular organization. However,a strong Inflammation from the whole human body may be caused due to the excessive activation, which, instead, worsens secondary brain injury. This article discusses the relationship between cytokines and traumatic brain injury.

Guangdong province assumes the task of pilot exploration and demonstration for building the preventive health service system of Chinese medicine. In the pilot process of preventive treatment of disease, a health pro-ject of Chinese medicine, sectoral agreements and policy studies are focusing issues. This paper explores the pre-ventive health service system building of Chinese medicine in G uangdong province , from following aspects such as access policy of service agencies, access policy of professional service staff, evaluation mechanism and verify sys-tem, the revision of existing medical subjects of medical institutions, health insurance policies and compensation policies, price policies, proactive technology policies and fiscal policies, incentive policies for the introduction of private capital .

Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition 1997;0(03):-
Objective: To apply the NRS2002 to screen the nutritional status of preoperative patients and investigate the nutrition support in the perioperation and clinical outcomes. Methods: 127 selective operational cases(including general surgery, thoracic surgery, gynecology and orthopedic) were recruited to adopte the NRS2002 which issued by CESPN in 2006,and the nutrition support, energy and nutriment in the perioperation, complications, length of stay and drug costs were investigated. Result: 30.7% patients needed nutrition support, with general surgery(28.3%) being higher than thoracic surgery(2.4 %),gynecology(0%) and orthopedic(0%).The nutritional risk in elderly, carcinoma, abdominal operation patients were 18.1%,19.7% and 18.1% seperately, which was higher than others(P
