1.Minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases with magnetic anchor
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2011;10(3):173-175
With the development of minimally invasive surgery, great developments have been made in laparoscopie techniques and digestive endoscopy. However, laparoscopy may cause injury by abdominal puncture, and digestive endoscopy is a painful examination for patients and is difficult to localize the tumor.Magnetic anchor makes use of magnetic attraction in positioning, and it improves laparoscopy and endoscopy by external magnetic field or magnetic handle.Nowadays, combined application of magnetic anchor and laparoscope and endoscope in the treatment of digestive diseases has been accepted by many medical centers, and further researches need to be carried out to realize the aim(small trauma, little pain and quick recovery)of minimally invasive surgery.

This paper is to report the polymorphism of raw materials of clopidogrel bisulfate at home and abroad. By the analysis of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and powder X-ray diffraction (p-XRD), samples are roughly classified into two groups, except one patent material. And the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) examination showed more detailed information for these materials. The results of the study could provide comprehensive basis for the quality evaluation of clopidogrel bisulfate.

Objective To explore the role of somatosensory evoked potentials elicited by paraspinal stimulation in the detection of spinal cord lesions. Methods Patients with clinically suspected spinal cord lesions underwent somatosensory evoked potentials(SEPs)and spinal cord conduction velocity(SCCV)test using paraspinal stimulating method.96 patients aged 15 to 75 years old with suspected spinal cord lesions of various aetiologies were tested.36 patients had demyelinating disease of the spinal cord,26 had sub-acute combined degeneration of the spinal cord,19 had myelopathy,10 had acute myelitis,5 had spinal cord corhpression. Results Paraspinal stimulation elicited somatosensory evoked potentials were Performed on all 96 patients,68 of whom underwent spinal MRI as well.SEPs and SCCV were found abnormal in a high ratio in all kinds of spinal cord lesions ; in general,78 among the 96 patients had abnormal SEPs with a sensitivity of 81.25%.27 out of 36 with demyelinating disease of the spine had abnormal SEPs with a sensitivity of 75.00%,23 out of 26 with subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord had abnormal SEPs with a sensitivity of 88.46%,8 out of 10 with acute myelitis had abnormal SEPs,15 patients with myelopathy having abnormal findings, all 5 patients with spinal cord compression had abnormal SEPs.42 of 68 patients undergoing MRI revealed to be abnormal,in which 35 patients also had abnormal SEPs.The other 26 patients had normal spinal MRI,in which 21 patients had abnormal SEPs.Conclusions Paraspinal stimulation somatosensory evoked potentials and spinal cord conduction velocity may objectively document the abnormalities of electrophysiology, which occurs earlier than those of anatomy and radiological finds, therefore it may detect the dysfunction of spinal cord at an early stage. It is even more useful in the detecting of the metabolic myelopathy, which can hardly be detected by MRI.This technique is simple, inexpensive, and maybe useful in the diagnosis for patients with suspected spinal cord lesions.

Objective To investigate the expressions and mutual relationship of Galectin-3 andβ-catenin in endome?triosis (EM). Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect expression levels of Galectin-3 andβ-catenin and their mutual relationship in expression was also examined. Samples were collected from ectopic endometrium of patients with en?dometriosis (ectopic endometrium group, n=34), eutopic endometrium of patients with endometriosis (eutopic endometrium group, n=34) and normal endometrium from people without endometriosis (control group, n=30). Results The expressions of Galectin-3 were seen in 88.2%, 85.3%, 50.0%of cases in ectopic endometrium group, eutopic endometrium group and control group respectively. On the other hand, the expression ofβ-catenin were seen in 55.9%, 52.9%, 26.7%of cases in ecto?pic endometrium group, eutopic endometrium group and control group respectively. In EMs patients, the expression of Galec?tin-3 andβ-catenin were significantly higher in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium than those in normal endome?trium group(P<0.05). Expression of Galectin-3 was positive correlated with expression ofβ-catenin(rs=0.512, 0.428, P<0.01). Conclusion Galectin-3 andβ-catenin may play important roles synergistically in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2010;16(3):273-274
ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the social disability and emotion disorder of the patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Methods168 patients with IBS were assessed with Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale. The patients with SDSS≥2 were divided into 2 groups, and accepted the medical routine therapy and explanatory psychotherapy for 2 months, while the patients in the research group (n=35) received the antidepressive. Then they were assessed with SDSS again. ResultsThe incidence of social disability in IBS patients was 40.5%, and increased in those who combined with anxiety and/or depression. The SDSS score of the research group was lower than that of the control group after the treatment. ConclusionThe social disability can be found in the patients of IBS, especially in those with emotion disorder, and can be improved by the antidepressive.
