OBJECTIVETo search for a simple and effective surgical approach to the management of moderate to severe pediatric concealed penis in children.
METHODSWe used Devine's technique via incision between the penis and scrotum in the treatment of 68 cases of moderate to severe pediatric concealed penis. The patients were aged 3 -13 (mean 6.5) years, 30 with moderate and 38 with severe pediatric concealed penis.
RESULTSThis strategy achieved good near- and long-term effects and satisfactory appearance of the penis, which was similar to that of circumcision. At 3 months after surgery, the penile length was 3 - 5.2 cm, averaging (2.35 +/- 0.35) cm.
CONCLUSIONDevine's technique via incision between the penis and scrotum is a simple and effective surgical option for moderate to severe pediatric concealed penis in children.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2015;35(11):1351-1355
OBJECTIVETo explore potency material bases of Xuebijing (XBJ) formula, and to analyze its effects at the molecular network level.
METHODSTotally 16 sepsis-related targets were selected and classified into three categories such as inflammation, immune, and coagulation referring to biological roles. Then molecular database of chemical compositions in XBJ formula were constructed to explore mutual actions with inflammation, immune, and coagulation targets.
RESULTSDanshen root and safflower, with more effector molecules with immune and coagulation targets, have extensive anticoagulation and anti-inflammation effects. The former 10 molecules with better mutual actions with sepsis targets were sequenced as tryptophane, danshensu, gallic acid, salvianolic acid D, protocatechuic acid, salvianolic acid A, danshensu C, vanillic acid, rosmarinic acid, phenylalanine. There existed two phenomena in XBJ formula as follows. One component had stronger actions with multi-targets, for example, danshensu had actions with 13 targets. Meanwhile, different components acted on the same target protein, for example, 8 molecules acted with MD-2.
CONCLUSIONXBJ formula had certain potential synergistic effects with sepsis targets, which could provide certain referential roles for findina new type anti-septic drugs.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2006;26(9):635-638
OBJECTIVETo probe the safe depth and angle of needling the point Yaotu for treatment of prolapse of intervertebral disc.
METHODSCT technique was used for scanning investigation of the depth and angle of needling the point Yaotu.
RESULTSWhen the acupuncture needle was inserted vertically to the external space of intervertebral foramen of human body with arrival of qi, the tip of needle could reach to 73 mm deep, which is the best needling depth and angle.
CONCLUSIONThe needle vertically inserting to the external space of intervertebral foramen at the point Yaotu is proper in treatment of prolapse of intervertebral disc.

Objective:
To compare the short-term and long-term outcomes of robotic rectectomy and laparoscopic rectectomy for rectal cancer based on propensity score matching.
Methods:
The clinical data of 106 patients who underwent robotic or laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer at Department of General Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January 2015 to December 2015 were retrospectively collected. Propensity score matching method was used to perform 1∶1 matching between robot and laparoscopic rectal cancer radical surgery. Thirty-two patients in robot group and 32 patients in laparoscopic group were successfully matched. There were 15 males and 17 females in the robotic group, aging (56.2±7.5) years, 19 males and 13 females in the laparoscopic group, aged (55.5±7.6) years. The clinical outcome of the two groups were compared using

OBJECTIVETo examine the urinary level of tissue factor (uTF) and its procoagulant activity (PCA) in patients with diabetes mellitus, and explore the relationship between uTF and renal damage in diabetes mellitus.
METHODSEighty-six patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were divided into 3 groups according to urine albumin excretion (UACR), namely normal albuminuria group, microalbuminuria group and macroalbuminuria group. The levels of uTF, PCA, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (CRE), serum cystatin C (CYSC), glycohemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) were measured in all the patients and 21 healthy controls.
RESULTSCompared with normal control, the diabetic patients showed significantly increased levels of uTF and PCA. The urinary TF-PCA was positively correlated to BUN, CYSC, CRE, UACR, fasting glucose and hs-CRP, but not to uTF; only hs-CRP, UACR were positively correlated to uTF.
CONCLUSIONuTF is probably implicated in the development and progression of diabetic nephropathy.

Objective To analyze the etiology of rabies in Hunan province and the genetic characteristics of rabies N gene isolated from 2008 to 2009.Methods Direct immunofluorescence assay (DFA) and nested PCR were employed to detect the monitoring samples including brain tissues of dogs and saliva, serum or urine which were collected in 2008 to 2009,from the rabies patients.Positive samples were sequenced by ABI3730 gene analyzer for the full length of the N gene target. The homology and hpylogeography of the rabies virus were analyzed after the phylogenetic tree was constructed by Blast,Clustal W and Mega 4.0 software. Results Of the 1451 tissue samples from the dogs' brain,31 were positive under DFA and the positive rate was 2.14%.The DFA positive samples were redeteeted by RT-PCR and the positive rate was 1.17%.56 samples of saliva, serum and urine samples were detected by RT-PCR from the rabies patients, with 3 positives and the positive rate was 5.36%.The length of nest PCR products were 255 bp.The rates of homology to the nucleotide and the amino acid of rabies N gene were 87.2%-87.9% after compared to the pasture strain. The phylogenetic tree was successfully built and 20 strains isolated lately belonged to the rabies gene type Ⅰ.Conclusion The epidemic situation of human and dogs rabies in Human were relatively stable, with all the isolated rabies virus belonging to genotype Ⅰ,without any variation.
