Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 2016;37(3):403-407
Objective To explore the effects of angled abutments on the anterior maxilla implant restoration. Methods We analyzed the biomechanical properties of implants of different sizes (Φ3.5 mm,4.0 mm and 4.5 mm in diameter;L11.5 mm and L13 mm in length)after connecting different angled abutments (0°,10°,20°,and 30°) using finite element method. Results The stresses and strains of loading parts of restorations increased and their distribution became more concentrated as the angle of abutment increased.Cortical bone of Φ3 .5 implants with smaller angle (10°or less)andΦ4.0 implants with abutments had the risk of overpassing the bone elastic threshold when the angle approached 30°.However,the cortical bone elastic deformation was within a safe range at all angles inΦ4.5 group. Conclusion We should consider the diameter of the implant when selecting angled abutments. The angled abutments are not suitable for small diameter implants. The bite force should be under control when needed. The larger angled abutments can be applied in the standard and major diameter implants and it is necessary to avoid occlusal overloading.

Objective To examine the expressions of serum growth hormone (ghrelin), leptin (LP), in sulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP3) in children with id-iopathic short stature (ISS), and their significance. Methods A total of 40 patients with ISS were selected from May. 2012 to Oct. 2014 in Fuyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital, while a total of 40 children in good health were selected as the control group. Serum ghrelin and LP levels were measured by ELISA. Serum IGF-1 and IGF-BP3 levels were detected by chemiluminescence immune assay. Results were analyzed statistically. Results The height, weight, BMI, GH, serum LP, IGF-1, and IGFBP3 levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, while serum ghrelin expression level was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The correlation analysis showed that ghrelin and LP were negatively correlated(r=-0.611, P<0.01), ghrelin and IGF-1 levels were negatively correlated(r=-0.520, P<0.05), Ghrelin and IGFBP3 were pos-itively correlated (r=0.586, P<0.01), IGF-1 and IGFBP3 was negatively correlated (r=-0.576, P<0.01), and LP and IGFBP3 were negatively correlated (r=-0.609, P<0.01). Conclusions It shows that ghrelin, LP, IGF-1, and IGFBP3 levels in children with ISS are related to growth hormone secretion status. The interactions between ghre-lin and insulin-like growth factor axis regulate growth and development of children.

Objective To observe the effect of auricular-plaster therapy on non-incisional pain from post-laparoscopic surgery. Methods Sixty patients with non-incisional pains from laparoscopic surgery were divided into experimental group (n=30) and control group (n=30).The patients of control group after laparoscopic surgery were routinely given the oxygen inhalation for 6 hours and encouraged to do off-bed activity earlier.Besides the above-mentioned treatment, the patients of experimental group were additionally given auricular-plaster therapy. The patients of two groups were compared in terms of pain intensity and duration.Result The pain duration in the experimental group was significantly shorter and the pain density was significantly lower than that of the control group (bothP<0.05).Conclusion Auricular-plaster therapy can significantly reduce the duration and intensity of non-incisional pain from gynecological laparoscopy.

Objective:To study the influences of angled abutments connected with small diameter implants in anterior maxilla restora-tion.Methods:Simulation models of angled abutment with small diameter restoration in anterior maxilla were established, the biome-chanical properties of the models were studied by finite element method(FEM)analysis. Results:Following the increase of the abut-ment angle, the stress and strain of all parts increased linearly and more concentrated, while appropriate prosthetic crown could share some load.Cortical bone elastic deformation exceeded the threshold when the abutment angle was bigger than 8 °.Conclusion:With abutment angle increase, stresses and strains will increase and will be more concentrated, which is unfavorable for load conduction.Ap-propriate crown can reduce the adverse effects of angled abutment.Angled abutment should not be used for d 3.5 implant.

Objective To study the influence of carboxymethyl-chitosan(CM-chitosan)on chondro- cyte apoptosis induced by recombinant human interleukin-1?(rhIL-1?)and explore its mechanism. Methods Rabbit chondrocytes were isolated and cultured.Chondrocytes were pretreated with different concentrations of CM-chitosan for 1 h,then 10 ng/ml IL-1?were added into the culture medium. After 24 h,the apoptotic rates of chondrocytes were measured by flow cytometry with AnnexinⅤ-FITC and PI staining. The morphology of nuclei was observed by fluorescent microscopy with Hoechst 33342 staining. The mitochondrial membrane po- tentials were tested by confocal laser scanning microsocopy with Rhodamine-123 and ATP contents were mea- sured by luciferase reaction. Results CM-chitosan could inhibit chondrocyte apoptosis and restore the func- tion of mitochondria induced by IL-113 in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion CM-ehitosan can inhibit chondrocyte apoptosis by protecting mitochondrial function.

Objective To retrospectively investigate and compare the clinical features in type 2 diabetic patients with various lesions of diabetic nephropathy. Methods One hundred and fifty patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus were registered from December 1990 to April 2004,among them 73 cases of diffuse glomerulosclerosis (DIF)and 77 nodular glomerulosclerosis(NOD)were all proven by renal biopsy.Data such as the durations of diabetes mellitus and hypertension, body mass index(BMI),diabetic retinopathy,HbA_1c,plasma albumin, proteinuria, urine N-acetyl-?,-glucosaminidase,urine osmolarity, ereatinine clearance rate(Ccr)were collected and compared.Results(1)Compared with the patients with DIF,the patients with NOD had longer duration of diabetes mellitus[(122.0?8.1 vs 56.0?7.8)months,P
