Reccent investigations demonstrated that genetically modified tumor cells could be used as vaccines against cancer. In this light, we introduced human interleukin -2 (IL-2) gene into a poorly immunogenic rat fibrosarcoma cell line WBT, a human lung abenocarcinoma cell line AGZY and a highly metastatie sub - cell line Anip973 derived from AGZY. The transduced cells showed no obvious changes in morphology, growth and colony - forming ability in soft agar.Transduction with IL-2 gene rendered the cells more sensitive than the parental cells and cells transduced with NeoR gene alone to the lysis by cytotoxic lymphocytes. High levels of IFN and TNF were detected in the supernatants of cocultured lymphocytes and tumor cells containing IL-2 gene. Tumorigenicity of WBT/IL-2 cells was greatly reduced in syngeneic rats. Metastatic capacity of Anip973 in nude mice was blocked by the transduction of IL-2 gene, but not the transduction of NeoR gene alone. Inoculation of WBT/IL-2 cells conferred rats resistance to the challenge of parental WBT cells.Splenocytes from WBT/IL-2-inoculated rats restimulated with WBT cells in vitro showed high CTL activity against WBT cells. Our results demonstrated the potential application of tumor cells transduced with IL— gene as active vaccine against cancer.

Objective:Combined laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in the diagnosis and therapy of the female infertity is and advanced means in the gynecologcial field.We analysed the causes and the treatments of the 71 infertile patients.Pelvic adhesions,endometrosis and salpingtis were the main causes of infertity in our 71 cases.Of 71 cases,29 cases were primary infertity,in whichc endometriosis,PCOS and anatomic uterine defect were the main causes,and 42 cases were secondary infertity,in which 35 cases (83%) had previous intrauterine operations.All the patients were treated for the causes.We concluded that combined laparoscopy and hysteroscopy can diagnose the causes of infertity and can observe the tubal patency by hysteroscopic tubal cathertetization and hydrotubation,which will direct the treatments and estimate the results of the therapy.Methods:Infertity;Combined Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy.

Objective To define whether correlation exists between the enlargement of lateral ventricles and motor development delay. Methods Motor development was assessed with Peabody Developmental Motor Scale (PDMS) in 28 children with cerebral palsy. BACKGROUND: There are small amount of hematopoietic stem cells, which are easy to divide in vitro and show the difficulty in applying to transplantation.OBJECTIVE: This paper has focused on the role and means of the Wnt, Notch, Bmi_1, Shh, HOXB4 signaling molecule in the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal and regulation. METHODS: With the key words of "HSC, Wnt, Notch, Bmi_1, Shh, HOXB4" for the search, we searched PubMed database (2002-01/2008-12) in English. Literatures closely related to the hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal related signaling molecules were included. Repetitive research and Meta analysis were excluded.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The computer initially retrieved 216 documents, of which 30 documents for research. Hematopoietic stem cells are self-renewing, have strong differentiation and growth and regeneration capacities, can produce various types of blood cells ancestor cells, are widely used to treat blood diseases, but the hematopoietic stem cell differentiation in vitro demonstrated that the difficulties used in transplantation. How to make hematopoietic stem cells in vitro amplification and processing, while maintaining hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal characteristics is of a key issue. In recent years, different signaling pathways to enhance the ability of hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal signaling molecule have been a research hotspot. The article focused on the role and means of the Wnt, Notch, Bmi_1, Shh, HOXB4 in the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal and regulation and found that both the above-mentioned five signaling molecules can enhance hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal function. There are also a number of factors playing an important role in the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal process, such as endogenous factors, a series of transcription factors Oct-4, Ehox, Nanog, SCL, Runx1 and so on, to explore how their regulatory networks formed by the interaction control self-renewal of hematopoietic stem cells will become a key point in the research of self-renewal of hematopoietic stem cells.

BACKGROUND:Absorbable suture with good biocompatibility and mechanical strength has been extensively used in the clinic. OBJECTIVE: To explorein vitro degradation of different absorbable sutures, to analyze the clinical superiority of absorbable sutures and the influential factors for itsin vitro degradation. METHODS: After retrieval of related literatures concerning degradation and application of absorbable suture material, we retrospectively analyzed relevant articles addressing influential factors for performance and degradation of absorbable suture materials, and comparison of clinical absorbable and nonabsorbable sutures, thereby providing theoretical evidence for clinical application. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Absorbable sutures can be completely degraded and absorbed by the body, with no adverse reaction and no scars after wound healing. Absorbable sutures overcome the shortcomings of nonabsorbable sutures that cannot break down in the body. The absorption of its degradation products in vivo has two pathways: one is the phagocytosis of giant cels and phagocytes in the body, and the other is that the degradation products enter the body fluids and blood. For example, lactic acid is absorbed and excretedvia the systemic circulation. There is a very complicated physiological environment in the human body, and various factors can affect material properties. In addition, the different kinds of materials have different degradation mannersin vivo. Therefore, it is necessary to design, synthesize and process biodegradable polymer materialswith special properties within a certain range to meet the clinical needs.

Luminol dependent chemilumi-nescence (CL) method was used to observe effect of nifedipine on polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) oxygen metabolism in coronary heart disease (CHD). Studied subjects including 24 cases of coronary heart disease non using nifedipine, 26 cases of coronary heart disease using nifedipine group (10.mg tid on 3~7 days), 30 cases of normal drug-free subjects.The results showed that: 1. PMN-CL in using nifedipine CHD group was sigrlifficantly lower, its PMN- CL backgroud, peak value andphargocyte index was signifficantly lower than that in non using nifedipine CHD group. 2. PMN-CL peak value and phargocyte index in using nifedipine CHD group had no signifficantly differences compared with normal group. 3. Parameters of PMN- CL in non using nifedipine CHD group were signifficantly higher than that in normal group.
