1.Correlation between formation of portal vein tumor thrombus and liver cancer stem cells metastasis
Journal of International Oncology 2008;35(7):527-530
Recent studies about stem cells show that the formation of portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT)is closely relative to the metastasis of liver cancer stem cells induced by portal vein microenvironment.Liver cancer stem cells first detach from the primary tumor, extravasate to extracellular matrix, stimulate angiogenesis or intravasate and migrate through the systemic circulation, evade host defense mechanisms, migrate to specific blood vessel sites through chemo-taxis and attach to blood vessel wall, then extravasate through blood vessel and home to specific microenvironment and to form PVTT.
2.Procedure optimization and realistic option——To evaluate the improvement of efficiency in the new Administration Measures for the Diagnosis and Verification of Occupational Disease
China Occupational Medicine 2022;49(2):121-125
Improving the efficiency of occupational disease diagnosis and verification is conducive to protecting the rights and
interests of workers, better realizing the legislative value pursuit of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention
and Control of Occupational Diseases, and truly demonstrating the spirit of legal fairness and justice. In 2021, the Administration
Measures for the Diagnosis and Verification of Occupational Disease was revised and implemented. The working procedures of
occupational disease diagnosis are adjusted and optimized, and the efficiency of diagnosis of occupational disease is greatly
improved. They include items such as new provisions specifying working time limits; optimize the working mode; the diagnosis of
occupational disease attribution applies to presumptive causality is emphasized and the logical thinking of inversion of burden of
proof is carried out. However, the work efficiency of occupational disease diagnosis does not make a great breakthrough in
quality, mainly manifests in three aspects: difficult to confirm labor relationships, raising the threshold of occupational disease
diagnosis, the administrative field investigation is empty and the diagnosis of occupational disease is complicated. There are
many pre-procedures in occupational disease diagnosis, which restrict the efficiency of diagnosis. In the future, attention needs to
be paid to promote the independent work of occupational disease diagnosis institutions, and through the revision of the Law of the
People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases. Occupational disease diagnosis institutions
should be empowered to confirm labor relationship, so as to lower the threshold of diagnosis of occupational disease and
maximize the protection of the rights and interests of workers.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2006;26(6):731-4
In this study, we examined the effects of aspirin on the growth rates, subcellar distribution of beta-catenin protein, the expression of beta-catenin/TCF signaling pathway target gene cyclinD1 mRNA, and cell cycle of Jurkat cell line (Human T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia). Our results showed that the treatment with aspirin inhibited the growth of Jurkat cell line. Jurkat cells treated with 3 mmol/L of aspirin could significantly decrease nuclear localization of beta-catenin, and at 5 mmol/L of aspirin, the nuclear localization of beta-catenin was undetectable. QRT-PCR showed that the target gene cyclinD1 mRNA expression was gradually decreased with the dosage of aspirin. Aspirin induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest in Jurkat cells. We are led to conclude that aspirin acts through beta-catenin-independent mechanisms. The effects of aspirin include down-regulation of beta-catenin nuclear localization and G0/G1 cell cycle arrest, which might serve as a means of growth inhibition in aspirin-treated human Jurkat cell line.

Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2021;40(1):45-49
Objective:To master the current status of iodine nutrition of residents in Tongchuan City and provide basis for policy adjustment of relevant department. Methods:In 2019, the cross-sectional survey method was used to divide 5 sampling areas in the 4 districts (counties) of Tongchuan City according to the east, west, south, north, and middle, and each area sampled 1 township (street, including at least 1 street), each township (street) selected one elementary school, each elementary school selected 42 non-boarding students aged 8 - 10, and each township (street) selected 21 pregnant women as the survey subjects. Home salt samples and urine samples were collected, salt iodine and urinary iodine were monitored, and thyroid examinations were performed on students. Results:A total of 1 260 salt samples were collected, including 2 non-iodized salt and 1 240 qualified iodized salt; the median salt iodine was 24.32 mg/kg; the coverage rate of iodized salt, the qualified rate of iodized salt, and the edible rate of qualified iodized salt were 99.84% (1 258/1 260), 98.57% (1 240/1 258) and 98.41% (1 240/1 260), respectively. A total of 840 urine samples were collected from students, the median urinary iodine was 196.19 μg/L. The medians urinary iodine of students aged 8, 9, and 10 were 182.59, 222.16, and 190.36 μg/L, respectively. The median urinary iodine of male and female students were 211.27 and 186.76 μg/L. A total of 840 students were tested for thyroid, thyroid rate was 1.79% (15/840) by B-ultrasound. A total of 420 urine samples were tested of pregnant women. The median urinary iodine was 155.05 μg/L. The medians urinary iodine of pregnant women in the first, second and third trimester of pregnancy were 166.79, 176.11 and 129.82 μg/L, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference in urine iodine content of pregnant women in different pregnancy periods ( H = 9.317, P < 0.05). Conclusions:The iodine nutrition level of residents in Tongchuan City is generally suitable. Pregnant women's urinary iodine shows iodine deficiency in the third trimester. Monitoring of iodine nutrition of pregnant women should be strengthened, classified guidance and scientific iodine supplementation should be adhered, to ensure the appropriate level of iodine nutrition for pregnant women.
9. Defunctioning stoma in low anterior resection for rectal carcinoma: A clinical analysis of 113 cases
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;29(7):804-808
Objective: To discuss the relationship between defunctionign stoma in low anterior resection for rectal carcinoma and the incidence of anastomotic leakage. Methods: Totally 270 patients who received low anterior resection for rectal carcinoma (with the distance between anastomosis and anal edge being 6 cm or less) from Jan. 2005 to Oct. 2006 were included in the present study. Defunctioning stoma was performed in 113 (41.9%) patients considered with high risk of anastomotic leakage. The clinicopathological data were used to construct database. SPSS 10.0 software was used to analyze the incidences of anastomosis leakage in patients with and without receiving defunctioning stoma. Results: There were 20(7.4%) leakages in the 270 cases. The symptoms included abdominal pain(37%) increase of pulse(53%), fever(47%), leukocytosis(53%), pelvic fluid properties change(68%), anal discharge of bloody fluid (26%) and others (10%). The average age of patients with leakage was 57.8 years. No death was caused by anastomotic leakage. Four(3.5%) leakages happened in defunctioning stoma group, and 16 (10.2%) leakages happened in non-stoma group(P = 0.04). Eighteen(75%) of the 24 patients with preoperative radiotherapy history received defunctioning stoma and none of them had leakage. Two of the 6 cases who had preoperative radiotherapy history receiving no defunctioning stoma had anastornotic leakages; the fisher exact probability test showed P = 0.054. The leakage rate was 4.9% (7 cases) in 142 cases who had received protective measures during low anterior resection and the rate was 10.2% (13 cases) in the rest 1.28 cases who had not received any protective measures (P = 0.10). Leakages subsided with conservative treatment in the 4 patients with stoma, but 8 patients without stoma had severe symptoms and required surgical intervention; one developed peritonitis. The average fasting periods were significantly different between the 2 groups (P<0.01). The postoperative obstruction incidence (P=0.24) and hospitalization stay(P=0.91) were not significantly different between the 2 groups. Conclusion: Anastomotic leakage is still the most important complication of anterior resection for rectal cancer, and a defunctioning stoma can undoubtedly reduce the rate of anastomotic leakage in high-risk patients. It is suggested that all the anterior resection cases with anastomotic height of or less than 6 cm should be considered for defunctioning stoma.
