Exposure to traffic-related air pollutants(TRAP)has been implicated in airway allergic diseases.Recent findings include epidemiologic and mechanistic studies that shed new light on the impact of TRAP on allergic rhinitis(AR)and the biology underlying this impact.These studies have found that oxidative stress induced by TRAP could affect the axis of epithelial cell-dendritic cell-T cell towards a T-helper 2 immune response,which is the major mechanism between TRAP and AR.Further,epigenetics and microRNA might be involved in this process.Our review will summarize the most recent findings in each of these areas.

Background and purpose: Sorafenib, a multiple targeted agent, can inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis of diverse tumor cell in vitro. It has extensive biological activities, but the pancreatic cancer effect of monotherapy is poor. This may be related to nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) pathway activation in cancer. Therefore, it is necessary to combine with Pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (PDTC, a NF-κB activation inhibitor) to enhance curative effect. To investigate the influences of cell proliferation, cell cycle and expression of NF-κB via their acting on human pancreatic cancer PANC-1, and explore their possible mechanism. Methods:The experiment groups were divided into sorafenib group with different concentrations (1.5, 3.0, 6.0, 12.0 μmol/L), PDTC group with different concentrations (10.0, 25.0, 50.0, 100.0 μmol/L) and combination group with low concentration (3.0 μmol/L sorafenib+25.0 μmol/L PDTC). Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of cryosurgery by using fiber optic bronchoscope for the treatment of middle or late stage central lung cancer.Methods Cryosurgery was performed on 31 patients with middle or late stage central lung cancer,who could not received open surgery,with liquid CO2 by using fiber optic bronchoscope.The effectiveness was monitored.Via the bronchoscope,a cryo-probe was inserted to the center or margin of the tumor.The cryotherapy was persisted for 30 to 120 seconds at-50 to-70 ℃.And then,the tumor was removed before the ice-ball on the point of the probe thawed.The procedure was repeated for several times till the airway was reopened.Results After 1 to 6 times therapies(2.5 times on average),the improve rates of cough,hemoptysis,dyspnea,and chest pain were 74%(23/31),87%(27/31),87%(27/31),and 58%(18/31),respectively.The rates of "markedly effective"and "effective" were 61%(19/31)and 39%(12/31)respectively.The pulmonary function of the patients was also improved:the FEV1 rose from(1.21?0.22)L to(1.72?0.35)L(t=21.843,P=0.001),and the FVC was increased from(1.86?0.31)L to(2.26?0.43)L(t=33.703,P=0.001).Conclusions Cryosurgery by using a fiber optic bronchoscope is an effective and minimally invasive method to reopen the airway,control the obstructive pneumonia,and improve dyspnea and hemoptysis.

Objective To detect the expression levels of serum alpha fetal protein (AFP),carbohydrate antigen 199(CA-199) and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) in a rat model of liver cancer and elderly liver cancer patients,and explore its clinical significance.Methods A rat model of liver cancer was successfully established by intraperitoneal injection of a low dose of diethylnitrosamine (DEN).The expression levels of serum AFP,CA-199 and CEA in rats were determined and compared during the development of liver cancer.Blood samples were collected from elderly subjects with normal liver and elderly liver cancer patients(n=80,each).The expressions of serum AFP,CA-199 and CEA were determined and compared between healthy elderly patients and elderly liver cancer patients.Results Serum levels of AFP,CA-199 and CEA were higher in liver cancer rats than in normal rats [(4.21±1.32) μg/Lvs.(1.05±0.33) μg/L,(3.78±1.04) kU/L vs.(1.00±0.28) kU/L,(3.54±0.92) μg/Lvs.(1.10±0.37) μg/L,t=9.493,8.609,7.675,respectively,all P=0.000].Serum AFP,CA-199 and CEA levels were higher in elderly patients with liver cancer than in elderly subjects with normal liver [(66.89±9.33) μg/L vs.(2.56±1.09) μg/L,(116.89±43.33) kU/L vs.(5.56±1.26) kU/L,(5.83 ± 1.56) μg/L vs.(1.17 ± 0.51) μg/L(t=14.379,17.470,10.677,respectively,all P=0.000).The positive rate of joint detection of AFP,CA-199 and CEA was higher in elderly patients with liver cancer than in elderly subjects with normal liver [77.50％ (62/80) vs.1.25％(1/80),x2 =17.260,P=0.000].Conclusions The joint detection of AFP,CA-199 and CEA can help increase the diagnostic rate of liver cancer in elderly patients.

ObjectiveTo compare the clinical effectiveness and adverse effects following low doses versus traditional doses of amphotericin B liposome (L-AmB) in the treatment of patients with invasive pulmonary fungal infections (IPFI) after renal transplantation.MethodsA total of 26 postrenal transplantation patients with IPFI between Jan. 2005 and Mar. 2011in Zhujiang hospital received L-AmB treatment identified low doses group (0.2-0.5 mg·kg-1·d-1,n =19) or traditional doses group (1-5 mg· kg-1,d-1,n =7) were reviewed.ResultsThe treatment duration in low doses group and traditional doses group was 20.3 +12.7 and19.3 ±13.2 days respectively (P＞0.05).The effective rate in low doses group and traditional doses group was 84.2％ and 57.1％ respectively (P＞0.05).The overall dosage was significantly less in the low doses group (414.7 ± 241.7 mg) than in the traditional doses group (1158.8 ± 928.0 mg) (P＜0.05).The incidence of adverse effect was significantly lower in the low doses group than in the traditional doses group (21.1％ vs.85.7％,P＜0.05).ConclusionThe effectiveness of low doses of L-AmB protocol in the treatment of IPFI postrenal transplantation patients was similar to that of traditional doses of L-AmB protocol,but the incidence of adverse effects in low doses of L-AmB protocol was significantly lower.

Objectives To investigate the correlation between HIF-1α expression level and clinical pathological characteristics of ovarian carcinoma in the elderly.Methods The expression levels of HIF-1α in normal ovary tissue,benign ovarian tumor tissue,borderline ovarian tumor tissue and ovarian cancer tissue were detected in the elderly by immunohistochemical method.And the correlations between HIF-1α expression level and clinical pathological characteristics of ovarian carcinoma were analyzed in the elderly.Results The HIF-1α expression was almost nothing in normal ovarian and benign ovarian tumor tissues,low in the borderline ovarian tissues,and high in the ovarian cancer tissue(Z=11.324,P =0.002).The IOD value of tissues was higher in borderline ovarian tumor tissue[(2.58 ± 0.65) × 105] and ovarian cancer tissue [(5.95 ± 1.02) × 105] than in normal ovary tissue[(1.90±0.35) × 105]and benign ovarian tumor tissue[1.95±0.41) × 105] (F=15.711,P=0.001).The expression of HIF-1α in the tissues was lower in ovarian cancer with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ,high or moderate differentiation and non-metastatic lymph node than in ovarian cancer with stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ,low differentiation and metastatic lymph node (x2 =4.714,6.121,6.364;P =0.030,0.013,0.012).Conclusions The expression of HIF-1α is up-regulated in ovarian cancer in the elderly compared with normal ovarian tissues,which may be related to occurrence,development and clinical prognosis of ovarian cancer.

It is to investigate the effect of two kinds of Houttuynia Cordata Injection on preventing and treating H1N1 influenza virus infection in mice. Pneumonia model was set up by intranasal infection of the normal and immunocompromised mice with influenza virus FM1 and PR8. The two injections were administered before and after the administration of virus, separately, and the lung index was observed. The results showed that the two preparations have obvious therapeutic effect on normal mice infected with influenza virus FM1 and PR8. And to FM1, the new injection's effect is better at small dosage. The results also showed that the two preparations have obvious prophylactic effect on immunodepressed mice infected with influenza virus FM1 and PR8. And to PR8, the old injection's effect is better at small dosage. Houttuynia Cordata Injection can improve the mice pneumonia caused by influenza virus H1N1 and decrease the lung index markedly. It has a remarkable preventive and therapeutic effect on H1N1 influenza virus in mice.

Aim To study the pharmacodynamics of antianxietic compound prescription capsule ( ACPC ) on acute stress in rats and the influence upon the ex-pression of ERK/CREB signal pathway and brain-de-rived neurotrophic factor ( BDNF) in the cerebral cor-tex and hippocampus of rats. Methods The elevated plus maze ( EPM ) test was applied to observe the effects of ACPC on acute stress rats administered 7 d low-, medium- and high-dose ( 0. 75 , 1. 5 , 3 g · kg-1 ) . The expression of ERK/CREB signal pathway and BDNF in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of rats were studied by using Western blot method. Re-sults In EPM, high-dose of ACPC increased signifi-cantly the rat open arm time ( OT%) ( P<0 . 05 ) and the percentage of open arm entries ( OE%) ( P <0. 05). In Western blot, the medium-dose of ACPC reduced significantly p-ERK1/2 expression in hippo-campus ( P <0. 05 ) , and high-dose group decreased significantly the expression of p-ERK1/2 and p-CREB in the cortex and hippocampus of rats ( P <0. 05 ) . High-dose group increased significantly the expression of BDNF in the cortex and hippocampus of rats ( P<0. 05 , P<0. 01 ) . Conclusion ACPC has anti-anxie-ty effect in the model of EPM, and its mechanism may be related to the ERK/CREB signal pathway and in-creased BDNF expression.

The specific primers and Taqman probe were designed and synthesized according to the UL31 gene sequence available in GenBank(EF417996).The fragment is 76 bp.A Taq Real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR assay was established for detection of Duck Plague Virus DNA based on DNA copy obtained from attenuated vaccine strain as a positive template.The sensitivity of the test for DEV is 2.1 × 100-2.1 × 109 copies.The minimum detection limit is 2.1 copies(2.1 fg).Tissues,excrement and blood of 4 ducks challenged with DEV were detected repeatly 3 times by this method.All results were positive (3/3).The specificity of the assay was proven based on no amplification by detecting DNA from normal duck cells,duck viral hepatitis virus,Pasteurella,E.coli,S.gall inarum,Newcastle disease virus,goosling plague virus et ai.The whole process of the test could be completed within 4 hours.It brings about quantification detection of DEV DNA.
