Objective: To investigate the effects and underlying mechanism of polysaccharides from Radix Saplshnikoviae on the immune factors in rats with allergic rhinitis induced by OVA.Methods: Firstly, 0.3mg OVA, 30mg Al(OH)3 and 1ml saline were mixed and intraperitoneally injected for the initial immunization, and then 200μg OVA (4%) was given once a day by nasal dripping since the 15th day for the second immunization to establish the allergic rhinitis model.Fifty SD rats were randomly divided into the allergic rhinitis (AR) model group, the polysaccharides from Radix Saplshnikoviae (600 mg·kg-1, 300mg·kg-1, 150 mg·kg-1) groups, the positive (Biyankang, 400 mg·kg-1) group and the normal control group.After the 14-day intragastric administration, blood was collected from abdominal aorta and serum was obtained.The levels of immune factors and inflammatory factors in serum were examined by radioimmunoassay.Results: The positive group and the polysaccharide groups could inhibit the typical symptoms of allergic rhinitis including sneezing, nasal scratching and running nose in varying degrees, and alleviate the inflammatory reaction symptoms.After the drug intervention, the positive group and the polysaccharide groups could down-regulate the expression of immune cell factors IL-4, TNF-A, VCAM-1 and IL-5, enhance IL-12 and INF-γ expression levels, and suppress the generation and release of inflammation factors IgE, HA, LTC4 and PGD2, and the differences were significant when compared with the model group (P＜0.05).The dose-effect relationship was not too obvious among the polysaccharide from Radix Saposhnikoviae groups respectively at high, medium and low dose, and the high dose group was best among them.Conclusion: The polysaccharides from Radix Saplshnikoviae exhibit curative effect for AR, which can down-regulate the serum levels of IL-4 and IL-5, up-regulate the serum levels of IFN-γ and IL-12, adjust Th1/Th2 lymphocyte subsets balance and body immune response and reduce nasal mucosa allergic inflammation, and the underlying mechanism may be related with reducing the generation and release of immune factors in AR induced by OVA.

BACKGROUND:Radiotherapy alone is not suitable for tumor-caused vertebral fractures and neurological dysfunction. In recent years, 125I radiation particles have been widely used in a variety of primary or secondary tumors and achieved good results. Percutaneous kyphoplasty can restore vertebral height efficiently, remodel spinal stability, and relieve pain.
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate safety and effectiveness of percutaneous kyphoplasty combined with 125I in patients with metastatic spinal tumors.
METHODS:A retrospective study was conducted to review 30 cases of metastatic spinal tumors undergoing percutaneous kyphoplasty combined with 125I from March 2011 to July 2012. Symptoms, signs, and imaging findings were col ected and analyzed. Al the patients had a refractoriness back pain. CT scan showed osteolytic changes in the vertebrae. The visual analogue scales, WHO standards for pain relief and Owestry disability index were recorded to analyze the clinical symptoms outcome and recovery of neurological function, and the change of height in abnormal vertebrae was measured. The fol ow-up time was 1 day, 1 month and 6 months postoperatively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Operations in al the 30 patients were done successful y. Al patients got a conspicuous pain relief in 24 hours after operation, and nospinal injury or compression was found. There were significant differences in scores of visual analogue scales, pain levels, Owestry disability index, and the height of vertebral bodies before and after operation (P<0.05). During postoperative fol ow-up of 1 and 6 months, scores of visual analogue scales, pain levels, Owestry disability index, and the height of vertebral bodies showed no difference from those at 24 hours postoperatively (P>0.05). Bone cement leakage occurred in the anterior longitudinal ligament (n=2) and intervertebral space (n=2), and no serious complications occurred. Percutaneous kyphoplasty combined with 125I is a safe and effective way to treat metastatic spinal tumors, which can quickly ease the pain caused by spinal tumor, recover the abnormal vertebral height, reduce complications and improve life quality of patients.

Objective To investigate the nursing professional values of different nursing groups and probe into the influencing factors.Methods By cluster and stratified sampling,a total of 583 participants including nursing students and registered nurses were investigated by Nursing Professional Values Scale.Results Nursing students and registered nurses hold a higher level of nursing professional values.Nursing professional value scores of nursing students were significantly higher than registered nurses.There was statistical difference between different nursing groups.Working years and monthly income were important influencing factors.Conclusions Nursing educators and administers could choose effective methods according to the condition to improve nursing professional values.

Purpose:To explore the expression of human c kit receptor protein (c kit R, CD117) in acute leukemia (AL). The focus of the study was put on the value of the expression of c kit R in diagnosis for acute non lymphoid leukemia (ANLL).Methods:Flow cytometry (FCM) was used to determine the expression of the transmembrane c kit R on mononeuclear cell in bone marrow in 24 patients with acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL) and 47 patients with acute non lymphoid leukemia (ANLL). Results:There was no significant difference between expression of c kit in healthy individuals and patients with ALL. The expression of c kit in patients with ANLL was significantly higher than that of healthy individuals and that of patients with ALL ( P

AIM:To explore the changes of the subsets and HLA-DR expression of dendritic cells and their concerning cytokine levels in peripheral blood of patients with breast cancer.METHODS:The subsets of the precussors of dendritic cells(pDC)in the peripheral blood of 57 cases of patients with breast cancer before operation and a week or six months after operation and 20 cases of healthy controls were analyzed by four-color FCM.The levels of IL-12p40,IL-10,IFN-? and IL-4 in the plasmas were tested by ELISA.RESULTS:Among 57 cases of patients with breast cancer,2 cases in Ⅲ phase and 4 cases in Ⅳphase expressed deficiency of pDC,the ratios of pDC1/pDC2 in the other cases inⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ phase were respectively 1.62?0.59,1.41?0.63,0.91?0.32,0.81?0.29 before operation,which were markedly lower than those in controls(1.94?0.44).The ratios of pDC1/pDC2 in the cases inⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ phase were 1.71?0.47,1.52?0.54,1.04?0.36 a week after operation,which were the same as those in pre-operation,but markedly lower than those in controls.The ratios of pDC1/pDC2 in the cases inⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ phase were 1.92?0.72,1.63?0.65,1.28?0.34 six months after operation,which were markedly higher than those in pre-operation,meanwhile,to compare with controls,those were still lower for patients in Ⅱ,Ⅲ phase except in Ⅰphase.No difference between patients and controls in the expression of HLA-DR of pDCs and the levels of IL-12p40,IL-10,IFN-?,IL-4 in plasmas and the ratios of IL-12p40/IL-10,IFN-?/IL-4 was observed.CONCLUSION:The ratios of pDC1/pDC2 in peripheral blood of patients with breast cancer inⅠ-Ⅳ phase are decreased.Parts of patients in Ⅲ,Ⅳ phase are deficiency of pDCs.HLA-DR expression of DCs and the ability of DCs which secret the concerning cytokines do not change as pDC subsets change.pDC subsets improve markedly inⅡ,Ⅲ phase patients and recover to the normal level inⅠphase patients after operation.

Objective To explore the compare of complete and incomplete radical debridement for thoracolumbar spinal tuberculosis.Methods Data of 296 patients with spinal tuberculosis from January 2000 to January 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.All patients were divided into two groups according to completeness of debridement:complete debridement group (group A) and incomplete debridement group (group B).There were 162 cases in group A including 86 males and 76 females,with an average age of 38.74± 17.26 years.There were 134 cases in group B including 73 males and 61 females,with an average age of 35.64± 18.21 years.All paticnts had undergone anterior debridement,focal graft implantation,anterior or posterior deformity correction,and internal fixation.Regular follow-up was required in the two groups.Results Residual sclerotic walls (36.54％),multipie cavities (34.62％),affected bony bridges (13.46％),sequestmm (3.37％),abscess (7.21％) and other lesionses (4.81％) were found in the group B.The first three factors were made up 84.62％ of the total.The mean follow-up time was 76.13±8.32 months in the group A and 79.24±5.49 months in the group B.The symptoms,C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate were improved more obviously in group A than those in group B.Six months after operation,tuberculosis healing rate in group A and group B was 29.01％ (47 patients) and 4.48％ (6 patients),respectively.The mean healing time was 4.36± 1.27 months in the group A and 9.15±2.53 months in the group B,with significant differences.The mean the time of chemotherapy was 5.21± 1.38 months in the group A and (10.45±2.15) months in the group B,with significant differences.Reoperation rate in group A and group B was 0.62％ (1/162) and 4.48％ (6/134),respectively.Conclusion Sclerotic bone,multiple cavities,and bony bridges are parts of foci in spinal tuberculosis.Clearing tuberculous foci with sclerotic bone,multiple cavities,and bony bridges can increase the curative effect,shorten the time of chemotherapy and reduce the side effects of drug,thus early resumption can be achieved.

Objective To determine the effects of non-thermal biological effect of low frequency pulsed electromagnetic field (LFPEF) with 15 Hz and 30 mT on ulcer wound during the plateau stress ulcer cure.Methods Thirty male Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to three equal groups:control,normal cure group (NC) and exposure treatment groups (ET).The plateau rats stress ulcer models were constructed with the combination method of a hypoxic and low-pressure acclimation and the stimulation of absolute ethyl alcohol irrigating stomach.The LFPEF equipment generated the LFPEF of 15 Hz,40％ duty cycle and 30 mT to expose and treat the rats' stomach of ET group with the frequency of 3 hours each day.After 6 days of exposure treatment,the stress ulcer cure situation of each group was evaluated by the methods of macroscopic observation,the gastric juice pH values detection and ulcer index (UI) measurement.Results After 6 days of model,the macroscopic observation showed that the ulcer of NC group was worse than the that of ET group (P＜0.05).The pH values and UI of ET group were significantly different with those of NC group,and closed to those of the control group.Conclusion The nonthermal biological effect of LFPEF could promote the plateau stress ulcer cure.

Objective To assess the clinical application values of HC visual laryngoscope in emergency tracheal intubation for severe craniocerebral trauma patients with basilar fracture.Methods Retrospective analysis was used to review 60 patients of severe traumatic brain injury with basilar fracture in emergency resuscitation room who needed the hospital emergency tracheal intubation.There were 30 patients operated with visual HC laryngoscope (the observation group), and the other 30 patients underwent common direct laryngoscope (the control group).The index of the degree of exposure,intubation time,success rate of intubation were compared between the two groups.ResultsThere were 28 cases (93.33%) of Cormark-Lehane grading Ⅰ to Ⅱ in observation group,which was significantly higher than 20 cases (66.67%) in the control group(P< 0.05).The average intubation time in observation group was (34.3±6.7) seconds,and it was shorter than (44.5±5.7) seconds in the control group (P<0.05).In observation group,26 cases (86.67%) were of one-time successful intubation,which was higher than 19 cases (63.33%) in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionHC visual laryngoscope in emergency tracheal intubation for severe craniocerebral trauma patients with basilar fracture can improve the success rate of intubation,shorten the intubation time,reduce adverse reactions,and it is worthy of clinical application.

A strain ZG0656 producing a-amylase inhibitor was isolated from soil in this study. Polyphasic taxonomic studies were performed, including appearance characteristics, culture characteristics, phenotypic characteristics, cell walls chemical composition, nearly complete 16S rDNA sequence alignment with those of representative Streptomyces species. These results revealed that strain ZG0656 represents a novel variation of Streptomyces coelicoflavus, for which we propose the name S. coelicoflavus var. nankaiensis. After fermentation in a 10 L fermentor, alpha-amylase inhibitors were accumulated in the harvested broth of strain ZG0656. The alpha-amylase inhibitors we obtained were identified as aminooligosaccharides after concentration, resin-adsorption, gel-filtration, and desiccation. They could intensively inhibit alpha-amylase, depress postprandial blood glucose elevation obviously. Thus, the a-amylase inhibitors are expected to act as drugs or functional food against diabetes.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect of low-dose once-daily tadalafil combined with Shuganyiyang Capsules in the treatment of mild-to-moderate erectile dysfunction (ED).

METHODSNinety patients with mild-to-moderate ED were equally randomized to groups A, B and C to receive Shuganyiyang Capsules, tadalafil, and tadalafil + Shuganyiyang Capsules, respectively. The scores of the patients on IIEF-5 and SF-PAIRS (15-Item Short Form of Psychological Interpersonal Relationship Scales) were recorded before and at 1 and 3 months after treatment.

RESULTSThe IIEF-5 scores of groups A, B and C were 10.13 +/- 1.55, 11.00 + 1.60 and 10.73 +/- 1.91 before treatment, and 13.77 +/- 2.11, 17.77 +/- 2.13 and 17.17 +/- 3.84 at 1 month after treatment, significantly higher in B and C than in A (P <0. 001) , but with no remarkable difference between B and C (P =0. 411). At 3 months after treatment, the IIEF-5 scores were 15.77 +/- 2.05, 18.07 +/- 2.24 and 19.37 +/- 3.76 in the three groups, dramatically higher in B and C than in A (P <0.001) as well as in C than in B (P<0.05). The scores on sexual self-confidence, sexual spontaneity and time concerns in SF-PAIRS were 3.90 +/-0.80, 8.67 +/- 1.94 and 14.43 +/- 1.92 before medication, 5.83 +/- 1.02, 9.90 +/- 1.75 and 11.17 +/- 1.68 at 1 month and 6.73 +/- 0.98, 11.07 +/- 2.08 and 10.67 +/-1.60 at 3 months after medication in group A; 4.17 +/- 0.87, 9.37 +/-1.43 and 14.47 +/-1.57 before medication, 6.47 +/-0.78, 10.83 +/- 2.18 and 10.20 +/-1.56 at 1 month and 6.83 +/-0.91, 11.30 +/- 1.88 and 9.47 +/- 1.57 at 3 months in group B; and 4.23 +/-0. 94, 9.50 +/- 1.89 and 14.67 +/- 2.91 before medication, 8.03 +/- 1.67, 13.43 +/-1.10 and 9.70 +/-1.21 at 1 month and 8.93 +/- 1.78, 14.70 +/- 1.26 and 8. 87 +/- 0. 97 at 3 months in group C. Compared with the baseline, the SF-PAIRS scores of the three groups were all significantly improved after treatment (P <0. 05) , and markedly higher in C than in the other two groups (P <0.05).

CONCLUSIONLow-dose once-daily tadalafil combined with Shuganyiyang Capsules is obviously effective in the treatment of mild-to-moderate ED, which not only improves the patients'erectile function, sexual self-confidence and sexual spontaneity, but also reduces their time concerns.
