The levels of platelet-activating factor (PAF) in cerebrospmal fluid (CSF) of patients with acute cerebral infarction were measured by the method of PAF-induced platelet aggregation quantitative analysis. The results indicated that the levels of PAF in CSF of patients with acute cerebral infarction were significantly increased (P

Objective To compare the effect of motor development massage and neural development approach on the children with cerebral palsy. Methods The children with cerebral palsy were selected with layered matching as they accepted motor development massage or neural development approach, and reviewed with their score of Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-66). Results There were 24 children in each group. The GMFM-66 score increased after treatment in both groups, but there was no statistical difference between these groups. Conclusion The gross motor function can be improved in the children with cerebral palsy with motor-development massage and neural development approach similarly.

Aim To study the effect of novel AChE inhibitors, 2-phenoxy-indan-1-one derivatives (YKY-1~7), against glutamatic acid-induced neurotoxicity in PC12 cells and on learning & memory impairment in dementia model mice induced by A?25~35 icv Methods The PC12 cells were preincubated with different concentrations of YKY-1~7 for 24 h and subsequently treated by glutamatic acid, at the high concentration of 2 mmol?L-1 for 15 min to induce cytotoxicity. The cell viability was assessed with MTT method.. Dementia model mice were made by intracerebroventricular injection (icv) of aggregated A?25~35. From the next day, the model mice were administered YKY-7 (2.5, 5, 10 mg?kg-1, ig) for 10 consecutive days and sham control mice or A? model control mice received daily ig saline. After the final treatment, the passive avoidance learning was tested, regional cerebral blood flow at cerebral cortex was assessed, and the activity of AChE in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus and blood serum were determined. Results Six out of the seven YKY compounds appeared to be effective against glutamatic acid-induced neurotoxicity in PC12 cells, with YKY-7 demonstrating the most activity. YKY-7 significantly ameliorated the learning and memory ability in dementia model mice induced by A?25-35 icv, slightly and selectively inhibited the cortical and hippocampal AChE, and gently increased the blood flow at cerebral cortex. Conclusion Some of 2-phenoxy-indan-1-one derivatives reported here have protective effects against glutamatic acid induced neurotoxicity in PC12 cells, and improve the learning and memory impairment induced by A?25-35, which may be partly attributable to its selective inhibition of AChE activity in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the method of medial transposition of the radial nerve in plate fixation of lower segment fracture of humerus.
METHODSFrom January 2010 to December 2013,31 patients with medial transposition of the radial nerve in plate fixation of lower segment fracture of humerus, including 18 males and 13 females ranging in age from 26 to 58 years old with a mean of 37 years old. The time between injury and operation was 1 to 8 days with an average of 4.5 days. According to AO classification, 7 fractures were type A1, 3 fractures were type A2, 6 fractures were type A3, 2 fractures were type B1, 4 fractures were type B2, 2 fractures were type B3, 4 fractures were type C, 3 fractures were type C2. No patients had any signs of radial nerve injury. The results were evaluated with DASH (disability of arm-shoulder-hand) Questionnaire by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) which 0 indicated normal upper extremity function, and 1 to 100 indicated varying degrees of damage to the function of the upper extremties.
RESULTSThere was no neurologic complication or postoperative wound infection in this series. The followed-up period ranged form 8 to 15 months (means 11 months) postoperatively. The clinical outcomes were evaluated with DASH Questionnaire, the score before operation was 76.2±11.8, the final follow-up score was 8.2±7.4, the final follow-up score was significant higher than before operation (P<0.01). The function of the upper extremities recovered satisfactorily.
CONSLUSIONThe method of medial transposition of the radial nerve in plate fixation of lower segment fracture of humerus can avoid iatrogenic radial nerve injury effectively.

Objective To investigate changes in the intraocular pressure(IOP) and anterior chamber angle in patients with chronic renal failure before and after hemodialysis. Methods Fifty?eight patients(116 eyes) with chronic renal failure were measured with Goldmann applanation tonometer and anterior segment optical coherence tomograph. The patients were divided into three groups based on gonioscopy results:the narrow angle group(22 eyes),the Iris neovascular group(3 eyes)and the open angle group(91 eyes). IOP was measured by Goldmann applanation tonometer in patients in the three groups before and after hemodialysis. Anterior chamber angle opening distance (AOD) was detected by anterior segment optical coherence tomograph before and after hemodialysis. The blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, albumin were also determined before and after hemodialysis. All changes in the parameters were analyzed with a paired t test. Results The IOP in narrow angle eyes and in neovascular eyes increased significantly after hemodialysis ,while the IOP in open angle eyes showed no significant changes. The AOD decreased significantly after hemodialysis. The blood urea nitrogen and creatinine decreased significantly in 58 patients, while albumin increased after hemodialysis. Conclusion The IOP in narrow angle eyes and in neovascular eyes increased after hemodialysis ,correlating with the resistance increase of aqueous outflow pathway and the change of plasma osmotic pressure. As a result ,it is recommended that the condition of eye of patients with chronic renal failure should be checked ,and patients should receive appropriate controlling measure or treatment before hemodialysis.

Objective To investigate radiation dose diffent type of anesthesia affected radiation dose when we do interventional therapy for child patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).Methods From 201 1 to 2014,we collected 50 children(3-6 years old)with PDA which received interventional therapy were included in the study. They were divided into two groups:group A (25 cases,male/fe-male=7/18,mean weight=1 5.32 kg±2.41 5 kg)underwent interventional therapy of PDA under general anesthesia, and group B (25 cases,male/female=13/12,mean weight=1 6.40 kg±2.056 kg)using local anesthesia. The surgery were operated by the same doctor,we used DSA children cardiovascular film AE mode (ped CARD)to monitor the surgery, image frames 1 5-30 f/s,used the non-ionic contrast agent (Iodixanol 320 mg I/mL)and recorded the child cumulative incidence of skin surface dose (AK),dose area product(DAP),and time of fluoroscopy, and do statistical analysis. Results All 50 cases were performed the surgery successfully. There were no significant difference of age, weight and gender between groups (age:t=1.924,P =0.06;weight:t =1.703,P =0.095;gender:χ2 =3.00,P =0.083).The cumulative incidence of skin surface dose (AK),dose area product (DAP)and time of fluoroscopy were (0.061±0.025)Gy,(5.08±2.19)Gy·cm2 and (3.15±1.16)min in A group, and (0.094±0.046)Gy,(8.41±3.587)Gy·cm2 , (6.86±3.27)min in B group. The sequence and image number of two groups were same. There were significantly differences of cumulative incidence of skin surface dose (AK),dose area product (DAP)and time of fluoroscopy between two groups (AK:t =3.152,P =0.003;DAP:t =3.957,P =0.000;time of fluoroscopy:t =5.346,P =0.000).The radiation doses of A group significantly lower than B group, compared with B group, the radiation dose were 40 percent [(1-5.08/8.41)%]lower in A group, the 1.1 7 times discrepancy of time of fluoroscopy between two group [(3.1 5-6.86)/3.1 5].Conclusion Radiation dose is associated with type of anesthesia. Compared with local anesthesia, radiation dose reduced 40% using general anesthesia during interventional therapy for PDA.
