Objective To observe the intervention effect of Wuxing-Jiangu exercise for different syndrome types of elderly patients with chronic low back pain.Methods A total of 199 patients who met the criteria of chronic low back pain (CLBP) were divided into a Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group (86 cases), a control group (85 cases) and a health education group (28 cases). On the basis of health education, theWuxing-Jiangu exercise group was given Wuxing-Jiangu exercise; the control group was treated with the warm type frequency therapeutic instrument; health education group was only given health education guide. The changes of the score of CLBP patients before and after treatment with different syndrome types were observed.Results After 3 months of treatment, the score of the kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome in the Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group, the control group and the health education group had significant differences (H were12.554, 8.014, respectively;all P<0.01); After 3 months of treatment, the score of kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome in the Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group reduced than before the treatment (Z were -5.975,-5.025, respectively)and 1 month after the treatment(Z were -5.976,-5.026, respectively) (all P<0.01).Conclusion Wuxing-Jiangu exercise can reduce the score of the kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome and improve clinical syndrome.

Objective To investigate the role of mutation of insulin receptor(IR) gene on the development of ischemic cerebral vascular disease.Methods The base variations at exon 17 and 20 of IR gene, by means of PCR SSCP were determined in the 68 cases of atherothrombotic cerebral infarction (ACI), 81 cases of lacunar infarction (LI) and 62 healthy controls.Results There were two alleles of T and C at exon 17 of IR gene. The prevalence of mutant of T allele in ACI patients was more common than that in the controls. The blood pressure and the parameters of blood sugar,lipid metabolism in the patients with mutant were higher than those in the controls with wild type gene. The correlative analysis showed the polymorphism of IR gene was not related statistically to the blood pressure. No base variation at exon 20 was found in the study.Conclusion By promoting the development of atherosclerosis,the mutation at exon 17 of IR gene may participate in the occurrence of ischemic stroke.

Twelve cases of pelvis sarcoma around acetabulum were selected from Department of Orthopaedics, Wuxi Second Hospital, Nanjing Medical University between January 2001 and December 2007 including 5 males and 7 females, aged 51-72 years. According to pathological diagnosis, there were 3 cases of sarcoenchondroma, 2 cases of osteosarcoma, 3 cases of giant cell tumor of bone, 2 cases of adenocarcinoma, and 2 cases of osteoblastoma. According to tumor position by Enneking dividatur sectors, there were 5 cases of Ⅰsector, 4 cases of Ⅱsector, and 3 cases of Ⅲ sector. The Harris score of pre-replacement was 88.5?8.8. All cases were treated by saddle prosthetic replacement successfully, and no accidents happened. The operation time was 2.5-3.5 hours; blood volume was (1 250?407) mL. Twelve cases were followed up for 18 months (range 5-36 months). One case died of tumor metastasis and body exhaustion 5 months postoperation. Infection of incision took place in 1 case, and cured by operation with antibiotic combined with bone cement chain pearls. The Harris scores 4 months post-replacement: 6 cases were between 40-49, 3 cases between 50-59, and 3 cases between 60-69. Twelve cases could walk with double orthosis 3 months postoperation, and 3 cases could walk with single orthosis 6 months postoperation; 1 case walked with near normal walking, but major walking was bad. No artificial joint loosening or dislocation occurred. Although the joint function of major cases treated by saddle prosthetic replacement was not fairly satisfactory, it is a better treating method for malignant tumor whose limbs can be reserved and live their daily life by orthosis.

In this research a strain of isolated Pseudomonas alcaligenes which causes degradation of dexamethasone was acclimated further and its proteins of every position in the bacterium were separated by the osmotic shock method. The separated intracellular proteins which had the highest enzyme activity were extracted by the salting out with ammonium sulfate and were purified with the cation exchange chromatography and gel chromatography. The purified proteins which was active to cause degradation of dexamethasone had been detected were cut with enzyme and were analyzed with mass spectrometry. The results showed that the degradation rate to dexamethasone by acclimated Pseudomonas alcaligenes were increased from 23.63% to 52.84%. The degrading enzymes were located mainly in the intracellular of the bacteria and its molecular weight was about 41 kD. The specific activity of the purified degrading enzymes were achieved to 1.02 U x mg(-1). Its 5-peptide amino acid sequences were consistent with some sequences of the isovaleryl-CoA dehydrogenase. The protein enzyme may be a new kind degrading enzyme of steroidal compounds. Our experimental results provided new strategies for cleanup of dexamethasone in water environment with microbial bioremediation technique.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for contents determination of luteoloside,quercetin and hyperoside in Lonicera japonica. METHODS:HPCE was performed silica capillary column with detection wavelength of 360 nm and separation voltage of 20 kV,electrokinetic sampling,sampling voltage of 15 kV,sampling time of 5 s,operation temperature of 25 ℃.The buffer was consisted of 60 mmol/L sodium tetraborate-50 mmol/L natrium carbonicum-50 mmol/L hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin(pH 9.2). RE-SULTS:The linear ranges of luteoloside,quercetin and hyperoside were 0.06-0.56mg/mL (r=0.9881),0.08-0.56 mg/mL (r=0.9892),0.06-0.49 mg/mL(r=0.9796),respectively. RSDs of precision,stability and reproducibility tests were all lower than 2.0%. The recoveries were 96.12%-99.77%(RSD=1.29%,n=6),95.90%-98.35%(RSD=0.89%,n=6),94.07%-97.45%(RSD=1.33%,n=6),respectively. CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple,accurate,stable and reproducible,and can be used for simultaneous determination of luteoloside,quercetin and hyperoside in L. japonica.

Objective To investigate the prenatal or intrapartum risk factors,resuscitation and its outcomes among full term but dying newborns after severe asphyxia (Apgar score was 0～1 at 1 min after birth).Methods Totally,39 dying full-term newborns,who were admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Shenzhen Maternity&Child Healthcare Hospital,Southern Medical University from January,2003 to June,2014 were analyzed retrospectively.Information on perinatal influencing factors and outcomes of resuscitation were collected and analyzed with Chi-square test.Results All of the babies were divided into died (n=7,18％,one refused to further treatment) and survived group [n=32,among which 15 suffered from hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE) (seven mild,seven moderate and one severe case)].Fetal heart beat was undetectable in more babies in the died group than in the survived group [2/7 vs 0％(0/32),x2=4.695,P=0.028].There were 19 infants with Apgar score ≤ 5 at 5 min,and seven of them died (7/19).The other 12 survived with HIE occurred in eight cases (four mild,three moderate and one severe case) and the rest four babies did not report any neurological complications.Among the ten infants with Apgar score ≤ 5 at 10 min,seven died or refused to treatment and the other three survived with moderate HIE.Conclusions Most of the dying term babies may have promising outcomes after effective resuscitation,especially for those with Apgar score over 5 at 5 min.However,for those dying term babies with Apgar score remains ≤ 5 at 5 min,management after resuscitation should be strengthened to reduce the occurrence of any sequelae or complications.

By using a combination of various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography over silica gel and Pharmadex LH-20 and reversed-phase HPLC, two minor new compounds, labda-12, 14-dien-6beta, 7alpha, 8beta, 17-tetraol (1), 2, 3-cis-6-acetyl-5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethylvinyl)-2, 3-dihydrobenzofuran-3-ol angelate (2), and a minor new natural product 6-methoxy-4-methyl-3, 4-dihydro-2H-naphthalen-1-one (3) have been isolated from an ethanolic extract of Heteroplexis micocephala. Their structures were elucidated with spectroscopic data analysis including 2D NMR experiments.

Objective To explore the molecular and cytogenetic abnormalities in multiple myeloma (MM).Methods The la-boratory data of bone marrow smears were retrospectively analyzed in 61 patients of MM.24 hours short-term culture of bone marrow and R banding technology were performed in 31 patients.Among these patients,10 cases were selected for de-tecting the IgH gene expression by the interval FISH method.Results The proportions of myeloma cells were 0.19~0.94 in bone marrow smears of 61 patients.In 31 patients,25 patients had enough metaphases for analysis,in which 19 cases (71.3%)had abnormal clones,8q24,11q13,13q14 and 17p13 were important structural abnormalities,where 14q32 rear-rangement was the most characteristic abnormal structure,6 patients were detected IgH gene rearrangement.Conclusion Bone marrow smear combined with other laboratory examinations could make the diagnosis of MM,chromosomal abnormali-ties may help to explore the pathogenesis of MM,and provide a theoretical basis for the early diagnosis,treatment and prog-nosis of this disease.

Objective To explore the effect of mouse proliferation-associated protein 2G4 (p38-2G4) high-expression on the proliferation and erythriod differentiation of murine erythroleukemia ( MEL ) cells.Methods To establish the recombinant lentivirus vector p 38-2G4-pLJM1, the p38-2G4-pLJM1 was cotransfected into HEK293T cells to obtain lentivirus with pCMV-VSV-G and pCMV-dR8.2.Lentivirus were infected into MEL cells to establish the stably p 38-2G4 high-expressed MEL cells.Western blotting was used to analyse the high-expression efficiency.MTT assay and benzidine staining were applied to detect the cell viability and hemoglobin synthesis of the stable cell line in presence /absence of inducers.Results Western blotting showed that the p38-2G4 high-expression stable cell strain had a higher expression of p38-2G4 as compared to the control group ( MEL) ( P <0.05).MTT result showed that there was no difference between the p38-2G4 high-expression cell strain and the control group (P>0.05), but the hemoglobin synthesis had been reduced as compared to the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion p38-2G4 high-expression does not affect the cell viability of MEL cells , but inhibits the erythriod differentiation of MEL cells in three independent experiments .
