Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Edaravone on transient ischemic attack and serum superoxide dismutase and malondialdehyde levels in the elderly.Methods Ninety eight cases with transient ischemic attack treated in our hospital were chosen as the objects, which were randomly divided into observation group and control group (n=49 for each).Patients in observation group were treated with Edaravone combined with conventional therapy, and patients in control group were treated with conventional therapy.The clinical effect and levels of SOD and MDA were analyzed and compared between the two groups.Results The effective rate and total efficiency were higher in observation group than in control group (79.6％ vs.55.1％, 95.9％ vs.83.7％, x2 =6.914 and 4.354, P=0.008 and 0.032).The SOD level was higher and the MDA level was lower in observation group than in control group (both P＜0.001) after treatment.Conclusions Edaravone could improve the symptoms of transient ischemic attack in the elderly, and increase the activity of SOD and reduce MDA level, which is helpful to reduce lipid peroxides, alleviate free radical toxicity, and improve the anti-oxidation ability.

Objective To evaluate the in vivo efficacy of modified platelet(PLT) additive solution(PAS-ⅢM) with trehalose as a substitute for plasma for the storage of platelet concentrates at low temperature(10℃).Methods Rabbit platelet concentrates were collected and stored in different media and temperature conditions,plasma(22℃),70%PAS-ⅢM/30% plasma(10℃) and plasma/trehalose(-85℃).Platelets in plasma(22℃) on storage day 3,in 70%PAS-ⅢM/30% plasma(10℃) on storage day 3,7,9,and in plasma/trehalose(-85℃) thawed on day 20 were transfused to rabbit thrombocytopenia model.The in vivo recoveries and survivals of the three preserved platelets and fresh platelets were measured and evaluated after transfusion into rabit model of thrombocytopenia.Results The survival of platelets stored in 70% PAS-ⅢM/30% plasma(10℃) on day 9 was lower than that of fresh platelets(P0.05).Recovery and survival of frozen platelets were significant lower than those of the other groups(P

Objective To investigate the characteristics of HBsAg and HBcAg in combination pulsed monocyte-derived DCs(MoDC) derived from patients with HBV-associated hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods MoDCs were generated from 20 HBV-associated HCC patients,and pulsed with recombinant human serum albumin(rHSA)as conDC(control DC),or pulsed with HBsAg andHBcAg in combination as scDC.Phenotypic patterns of MoDCs were characterized by flow cytometry,and the levels of cytokines releasedby MoDCs were analyzed by ELISA,and frequencies of IFN-γ-producing antigen-specific autologous T cells were measured by Elispotassay.HBV-specific CD8 T cells proliferation was determined by pentamer staining.Results 1.The levels of MHC and costimulatorymolecules expressed on scDC were significantly higher than those on immature MoDC(imaDC)in two groups,and the levels of MHC andcostimulatory molecules expressed on imaDC,conDC and scDC in HBsAg+,anti-HBe+,anti-HBc+patients(1-4-5 positive group)were significantly higher than those in HBsAg+,anti-HBc+patients(1-5 positive group);2.The levels of IL-12 and IL-10 produced byscDC were higher than those produced by imaDC and conDC in both groups,and the levels of IL-12 produced by imaDC,conDC and scDCin 1-4-5 positive group were higher than those in 1-5 positive group.3.The frequencies of IFN-γ-producing T cells induced by scDC werehigher than those by conDC in 1-4-5 positive group.4.scDCs from 4 cases of HLA-A2+patients in 1-4-5 positive group could induceautologous T cells to generate HBVcore18-27-specific CD8 T cells.Condusions HBsAg and HBcAg pulse in combination couldsubstantially reverse the impaired function of MoDCs in HBv-associated HCC patients,and boost MoDC to induce HBV-specific T cellsresponse,especially in HBsAg+,anti-HBe+ and anti-HBe+ patients.

ObjectiveTo observe the effects of acupuncture combined with massage on shoulder subluxation and motor function recovery of the upper extremities in patients with hemiplegia after stroke.Methods60 hemiplegic patients were randomly divided into two groups for treatment with acupuncture cooperates with massage or usual rehabilition, respectively. The recovery of the patient's shoulder subluxation and movement function of upper extremities were evaluated 2 months after treatment. ResultsThe shoulder subluxation and movement function of the upper extremities were improved after treatment with both therapies (P<0.01), and acupuncture cooperates with massage showed better effect (P<0.01). ConclusionAcupuncture cooperates with massage can facilitate the recovery of shoulder subluxation and motor function of the upper extremities after hemiplegia.
