Chronic renal failure is clinical syndrome manifested as hypoactivity of renal function that can be caused by manifold diseases. CRF is difficult to be treated and has bad prognosis. In recent years, according TCM physiological and pathological mechanism, doctors have achieved good effects in preventing and delaying CRF in its early and middle stage by adopting the therapeutic principle of expelling toxin, strengthening body resistance, and promoting blood circulation to dissipating blood stasis.

A series of isoindoline derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their double inhibitory activities. All of them were new compounds, and their structures were confirmed by 1H NMR and HR-MS. Preliminary in vitro pharmacological tests showed that all compounds exhibited 5-HT or NE reuptake inhibition activity. Among the tested compounds, compound I-3 exhibited potent inhibitory activity against 5-HT and NE reuptake in vitro, and exhibited potent antidepressant activity in vivo. These compounds designed can be further optimized for finding more potent 5-HT/NE dual reuptake inhibitors and antidepressant candidates as well.

Panax ginseng is the king of herbs and plays important roles in the traditional Chinese medicine industry. In this paper, we summarized the development of ginseng cultivation in China and other main countries, analyzed the effects of ecological factors of soil and climate on ginseng distribution, and investigated the characteristic of main cultivation patterns (conversion of forest to cultivate ginseng soils, cultivated ginseng in the farmland and wild nursery). Aimed at the serious issues in the cultivation, research strategies have been provided to guarantee the sustainable development of the ginseng industry. The patterns of cultivated ginseng in the farmland should be strive to develop; pollution-free cultivation and studies of continuous cropping obstacles should be carried out; ginseng varieties suited to ecological environment of farmland should be bred using modern biotechnology.

Objective To evaluate the left ventricular(LV) torsion and rotation in normal subjects using vector velocity imaging. Methods LV basal and apical short-axis images were captured in 10 healthy individuals to estimate LV torsion and rotation using routine 2-dimensional echocardiography and vector velocity imaging. Results As viewed from LV apex, the systolic basal rotation was clockwise (negative value),and apical rotation was counterclockwise (positive Value). The apical peak systolic rotational velocity was significantly higher than the basal [endo:(150±62)°/s vs (114±65)°/s;epi:(81±40)°/s vs (55±28)°s,respectively,P<0.01]. The peak systolic endocardial rotational velocity and rotation was significantly higher than epicardial rotational velocity and rotation[basal:(-114±65)°/s vs (-55±28)°/s,(-12±6)°vs (-4±1)°;apical:(150±62)°s vs (81±40)°s,(10±4)°vs(6±2)°,respectivelv,P<0.05]. There were no significant differences in the time to peak systolic rotational velocity/rotation between basal endocardium/epicardium and apical endocardium/epicardium. Conclusions Vector velocity imaging can assess LV torsion and rotation non-invasively,and normal LV has a kind of characteristic motion of torsion.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1953;0(01):-
Two cases of incomplete regression of ventral mesogastrium were reported. Their nomenclature, etiology, symptoms and characteristic roentgenologic findings were discussed in relation to anatomical study. Because of its unique etiology and symptoms, charecteristic roentgenologic findings, and effectual remedy, it is suggested that this disease should be distinguished from "abnormal adhesion of fibrous bands" as an independent anomaly called incomplete regression of ventral mesogastrium. The roentgenological findings were: An incisure was found in the upper portion of pars descendens duodeni. It sank deeply and reduced two thirds of the normal diameter of the intestinal lumen to form an eccentrie intestinal stenosis. The intestinal lumen, near the inner border of the incisure was smooth, and there was no sign of serrated image formed by intestinal mucosa. The part of intestinal lumen was not distended in hypotonic radiography. All the above signs were caused by the traction and binding of the nonregressed mesogastrium.

OBJECTIVE:
To explore role of Nods (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain Nod Like receptors) kind of pattern recognition receptors (PRR) in patients with allergic rhinitis.
METHOD:
The mRNA and protein of Nod1, Nod2 of Nalp3 were analyzed in the turbinate mucosa of patients with allergic rhinitis, nasal septum deviation (NSD) nasal mucosa of patients and nasal polyp mucosa with Real-Time RT-PCR, Western blot and immunohistochemistry respectively, and Nod1 expression changes was explored in PBMC with wad explored Western-blot and then the level of IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IFN-γ were detected in serum of AR after desensitization treatment.
RESULT:
These Nods like receptors, mainly found in nasal mucosa epithelial cells, glandular epithelium and inflammatory cells (e. g. plasma cells, eosinophils), were expressed in the nasal mucosa tissues. In AR group, Nod1 (mRNA and protein) expression were lower than NSD group (P<0.05), Nalp3 expression were higher than (P<0.05), while, there was no significant difference of Nod2 (mRNA and protein) between groups. After 6 months desensitization therapy, the change of Nod1 in PBMC was negatively correlated with the change of IL-10 in the peripheral blood, r=-0.88, P<0.05; while, change of Nod1 was positively correlated, with the change of IL-6, r=0.57, P>0.05.
CONCLUSION
Nod1, Nod2 and Nalp3 expression were seen in the two groups, and the Nod1 expression in allergic rhinitis group was lower than other two groups, while, the Nalp3 was higher than other two groups. It showed Nod1, Nalp3 may be involved in the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis. Expression of Nod1 in PBMC reduced after sublingual desensitization treatment. Besides, the change of Nod1 was negatively correlated with the change of IL-10 in PBMC. So,it seemed that Nod1 may regulate IL-10 changes and be involved in sublingual desensitization therapy.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(5):427-428
ObjectiveTo investigate the incidence of skeletal and/or articular malformations in central core disease (CCD) patients, and their risk of malignant hyperthermia (MH) in orthopedics. Methods28 unrelated patients with central core disease collected in the past 23 years were analyzed retrospectively. Results22 patients showed limb muscle weakness, while 6 patients didn't show any clinical symptom. Skeletal and/or articular malformations appeared in 21 patients, including joint contracture in 11, joint dislocation in 9, scoliosis in 12, lordosis in 5 and thoracic deformity in 1. 6 of the 10 patients could not endure orthopedic operation because of MH attack or dubitable MH attack. Calcium-induced calcium release (CICR) test performed on other 8 patients with MH family history or MH attack showed all those patients were MH susceptibilities. ConclusionSkeletal and/or articular malformations are common in CCD, as well as MH attack in orthopedics.
