Asian Nursing Research 2020;14(4):206-211
Purpose:
To investigate the relationship between rumination, coping strategies, and subjective well-being (SWB) and test the mediating effects of coping strategies on rumination and SWB in patients with breast cancer (BC).
Methods:
This cross-sectional study assessed rumination, coping strategies, and SWB using the General Well-being Schedule, the Chinese Event-Related Rumination Inventory, and the Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire in BC patients admitted to a tertiary general hospital in China.
Results:
SWB was positively associated with the total score for rumination (r = .32, p < .01), deliberate rumination (r = .75, p < .01), and confrontation (r = .58, p < .01). The relationship between rumination and SWB was mediated by confrontation (indirect effect = .74).
Conclusion
BC diagnosis can affect patient's SWB. These findings indicate that rumination and confrontation have direct and indirect effects on SWB. Therefore, psychological interventions focused on improving coping may increase SWB. Notwithstanding, larger longitudinal studies are needed to further examine the relationship between cognitive processes, coping strategies, and SWB.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2006;31(9):728-731
OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of drug properties on the encapsulation effiency (EE) and drug release of transfersomes for a proper transfersome preparation.
METHODTo prepare the transfersomes of colchicines (CLC), vincristine sulfate (VCR) and mitoxantrone hydrochloride (DHAD) with the same materials and methods, and then measure their EE. To find out the relationship between drug properties like solubility, molecular weight and charges, and EE. To performe the drug release experiments of various types of transfersomes in vitro, and compare their differences.
RESULTVCR and DHAD are lipophilic or hydrophilic, owing positive charges and large molecular weight, as a result, their EE are high, while CLC is amphipathic, neutral, and of small molecular weight, its EE is very low. As DHAD can insert into the membrane of transfersome, the drug release of DHAD-T in vitro is much slower than that of VCR-T.
CONCLUSIONTo prepare transfersomes with high EE, drugs that are lipophilic or hydrophilic, high molecular weight and opposite charges to the membrane should be chosen. Interaction between drugs and membrane will influnce the rate of drug release.

Objective To compare the mid-term clinical results of primary implantation of a selfexpanding nitinol stent and primary percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) for long range arteriosclerosis obliterans of the superficial femoral artery. Methods From December 2005 to February 2007,109 patients who had moderate-severe claudication or chronic limb ischemia (CLI)due to stenosis or occlusion of the superficial femoral artery were treated by endovascular technology. 53 patients (73 limbs) were treated by primary stenting and 56 patients (76 limbs)by PTA. We compared the clinical data of stenting group and PTA group at 6,12 and 24 months. Results The mean length of the treated segment was (16± 8)cm in the stenting group and(15±7)cm in the PTA group. At 6 months, the rate of restenosis on duplex ultrasonography was 13.7% in stenting group and 30.2% in PTA group (X2=4.09, P<0.05);at 12 months the restenosis rates were 25.5% in stenting group and 46.9% in PTA group(X2=4.75, P<0.05);at 24 months the restenosis rates on duplex ultrasonography were 38.1% in stenting group and 65.9% in PTA group(X2=6.66, P<0.01). Rutherford stages in stenting group were significantly better than those in PTA group. Conclusion In the mid-term, primary implantation of a self-expanding nitinol stent yielded results that were superior to those with PTA for arteriosclerosis obliterans or long range stenosis of the superficial femoral artery.

Objective To explore the effect and safety of transcranial approach for spheno-orhital meningioma. Design Retro- spective case series. Participants Thirty-two patients being operated with transcranial approach. Twenty-four cases were meningothelial meningiomas, 3 cases were fibrous meningiomas, 1 case was psammomatous meningioma, 2 cases were atypital meningiomas, 2 case were malignant meningiomas. Methods All patients underwent frontal-temporal craniotomy, the involved sphenoid wing bone and peri- orbit were removed to prevent recurrence. The superior orbital fissure and optic canal were decompressed, the dural and periorbital de- feet were repaired by autogenous temporal fascia or artificial dura. Main Outcome Measures Preoperative and postoperative exoph- thalmus and eyeball movement, the extent of tumor resection, the ratio of recurrence. Results The extent of tumor resection: 8 cases were Simpson gradeⅡ, 20 cases Simpson gradeⅢ, 4 cases Simpson grade IV. After surgery, proptosis were improved in all patients, ophthalmoplegia was found in 6 eases. There was no operation-related death or other significant complication. Tumor recurred in 6 cas- es. Conclusions Adequate exposure of the tumor and bony decompression of the cranial nerves can result from transcranial approach, all the involved bone should be removed in order to prevent recurrence. This approach is relatively safe and the ptoptosis are improved significantly. Complete surgical resection is difficult because of the involvement of the orbital apex, superior orbital fissure and cav- ernous sinus.
