Four fractions (starches, water insoluble proteins, water soluble fractions and residue) were separated from oats by means of filtration and repeated high speed centrifugation, and the lipids were extracted by acid-hydrolysis as well. Then each group of experiment hyperlipemic mice, caused by high lipid diet, were fed with these fractions for 10 days respectively. The results showed that the effectiveness of the residue fraction which was rich in dietary celluloses and lipids was similar to the whole oats on depressing bl-ood-lipid and that the water insoluble proteins were effective too. The lip-ids, however,were important but not unique effective composition in the residue of oats.

Objective To observe the effect analysis of inverting suture and 8-character-pattern suture after laparoscopic myomectomy for the operation and postoperative complications. Methods The data of of 142 patients with laparoscopic myomectomy were analyzed retro-spectively. According to the different suture methods,they were divided into inverting suture group (85 cases) with straight mattress inverting suture and 8-character-pattern suture group (57 cases). The operation time, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative complications between two groups were compared. Results The operation time and intraoperative bleeding of varus suture group were less than those of 8-character-pat-tern suture group, single tumor posterior uterine wall parts of operation time and intraoperative bleeding than patients with the anterior wall of the uterus and uterine bottom, 1 cases of pelvic related operation infection after operation in eight suture group,abdominal and pelvic mucosa adhesion in 2 cases,the complication rates between two groups were statistically difference (P<0. 05). Conclusion Laparoscopic myomec-tomy with direct mattress inverting suture can shorten operation time, play a good hemostasis in the operation and reduce the incidence of pel-vic infection and abdominal and pelvic mucosa adhesion.

OBJECTIVE: A case of half sibling was determined with multiple genetic markers, which could be potentially applied for determination of half sibling relationship from same father. METHODS: Half sibling relationship was detected by 39 autosomal STR genetic markers, 23 Y-chromosomal STR genetic markers and 12 X -chromosomal STR genetic markers among ZHAO -1, ZHAO -2, ZHAO -3, ZHAO -4, and ZHAO-5. RESULTS: According to autosomal STR, Y-STR and X-STR genotyping results, it was determined that ZHAO-4 (alleged half sibling) was unrelated with ZHAO-1 and ZHAO-2; however, ZHAO-3 (alleged half sibling), ZHAO-5 (alleged half sibling) shared same genetic profile with ZHAO-1, and ZHAO-2 from same father. CONCLUSION It is reliable to use multiple genetic markers and family gene reconstruction to determine half sibling relationship from same father, but it is difficult to determination by calculating half sibling index with ITO and discriminant functions.

Objective To explore the effect of sodium arsenite (iAs3+) and sodium hydrogen arseuate (iAs5+) exposure on rat multidrug resistance protein 2 (MRP2) expression,and the correlation of liver arsenic and its methylation products,and to provide a basis for further elucidating the mechanism of arsenic toxicity.Methods Seventy wistar rats were randomly divided into seven groups,10 rats in each group.Control group was administrated with deionized water.Sodiun arsenite high-dose group,middle-dose group,low-dose group were administrated with different concentrations of sodium arsenite:20.0,6.7 and 2.2 mg/kg BW every day,respectively.Animals were sacrificed 90 days later by cervical dislocation to collect liver,the expression of MRP2 in the membrane of hepatocyte was determined by Western blotting.HPLC-HGAFS was employed to determine the content or level of arsenic and its methylation products.Correlation between expression of MRP2 and arsenic methylation products was analyzed using Pearson's linear correlation method.Results The MRP2 protein levels of control group,iAs3+ and iAs5+ high-,middle-,low-dose groups were 1.21 ± 0.13,1.85 + 0.09,1.65 + 0.19,1.61 + 0.18,1.69 + 0.04,1.42 + 0.19,1.27 ± 0.10.Compared to control group,MRP2 protein levels of iAs3+ high-,middle-,low-dose group and iAs5+ high-dose group were increased (P ＜ 0.05); Compared with the low-dose group,MRP2 protein levels of iAs3+ and iAs5+ high dose groups were increased(P ＜ 0.05); Comparing the matched doses group of iAs5+ and iAs3+,MRP2 protein levels of iAs3+ high-,middle-,low-dose group were higher than iAs5+(P ＜ 0.05).Meanwhile,there was a significant positive relationship between the expression of MRP2 and the content of iAs3+,MMA and DMA in iAs3+ exposed group(r =0.575,0.678,0.395,all P ＜ 0.05).There was also a significant correlation between the expression of MRP2 and MMA and IMA in iAs5+ exposed group(r =0.593,0.643,all P ＜ 0.05).There was no significant relationship between the expression of MRP2 and the content of iAs5+in iAs5+ exposed group.Conclusions The expression of MRP2 is increased with increasing dose of arsenic exposure,thus resulting in compensatory changes on MRP2 expression in the liver cell membrane.MRP2 efflux may play an important role in the metabolic pathways of iAs3+.The level or load of arsenic methylation in liver is closely related with MRP2 expression.

In recent years, more and more Chinese herbal extracts with mild, high safety and small irritation are applied to cosmetics as the natural additives. This has become a new hot spot. The recent application advances of Chinese medicine raw materials in cosmetics are overviewed according to their main functions. This review will provide useful references for the future development and application of Chinese medicinal herbs cosmetics.

The contamination of extrinsic harmful contaminants including mycotoxins, heavy metals and pesticides, etc, brings serious risks to traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), further to human health. Due to their unique photoluminescence, chemiluminescence, electrochemical and electrochemiluminescence properties, semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) nanoparticles are widely used to immobilize bioprobes and biosensors, etc. In this review, the luminescence characteristics and specific ligands of QDs probles which are used to determine contaminants were summed up. Then, the applications of QDs-coated novel probes in the determination of mycotoxins, heavy metals and pesticides were discussed in detail. In addition, the contamination levels and characteristics of extrinsic harmful residues in TCMs were investigated. Further, the maximum levels of those contaminants in TCMs were compared with those set by various countries. Finally, the future development trends and problems of QDs-coated probes in the determination of those extrinsic residues in TCMs were prospected.

OBJECTIVE: To make an animal model of cervical spondylosis (arthralgia syndrome type) with stimulation of wind, cold, and dampness. METHODS: Twenty-four 8 months old male New Zealand white rabbits were randomly allocated into four groups: normal control group, light stimulation group, moderate stimulation group and severe stimulation group. The wind speed was 10.8-13.8 m/s, the temperature was (5+/-0.5)degrees centigrade, and the humidity was 100%. The rabbits of light, moderate, and severe stimulation groups were kept in the above-mentioned environments for 4 hours everyday, and for a total of 32, 64, and 128 hours, respectively. The intervertebral discs were stained with HE method, and observed with a light microscope. Prostaglandin E(2) (PGE(2)), 6-ketone-prostaglandin F1alpha (6-K-PGF(1alpha)) and thromboxane B(2) (TXB(2)) contents were measured by ELISA. Fas and Bcl-2 expressions were examined by immunohistochemical avidin-biotin peroxidose complex technique. Interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) mRNA expressions were examined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS: The nucleus pulposus of rabbits in the light and moderate stimulation groups shrunken, and in the severe stimulation group, the anulus fibrosus loosed or ruptured, and the cartilage end-plate became proliferated. Compared with rabbits in the normal control group, the PGE(2) content rose in the light stimulation group, the contents of PGE(2), 6-K-PGF(1alpha), and TXB(2) increased, the expressions of IL-1beta and TNF-alpha mRNAs and Fas were up-regulated, and the expressions of TGF-beta mRNA and Bcl-2 were down-regulated in the moderate and severe stimulation groups. The expression of Fas was up-regulated mostly and Bcl-2 was down-regulated mostly in the severe group. CONCLUSION: Moderate and severe stimulations of wind, cold and dampness can lead to degeneration of cervical intervertebral discs of rabbits. The model corresponds to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine about arthralgia syndrome caused by wind, cold and dampness.

Drug reservation wag investigated in 2077 community residents.We found that most drugs were obtained from the hospitals(83.78%),kept at a relatively lower place(69.23%),packed in box(75.25%),and did not meet the storage requirement(72.60%).Half of the overdue drugs(median time,12 months)were used for internal treatment.This study suggests that there might be unsafe drug storage in communities.

Objective Follow-up monitoring was carried out in infants infected with cytomegalovirus (CMV) so as to find out whether breastfeeding could bring about changes of CMV viral load.Methods Saliva of the neonates born in Changzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from Nov.2010 to Feb.2012,was collected for CMV screening.Premature infants,or the infants with seriously infectious diseases and deformities were excluded,such as severe intrauterine infection,congenital immune deficiency disease and so on.The full-term infants with aymptomatic infection were divided into the artificial feeding group and the breastfeeding group,and followed up for 6 months.During the 1st,the 3rd and the 6th month after their birth,their saliva and their mother's breast milk were collected.The method of realtime fluorescent quantitative PCR was adopted to test the changes in the viral load of CMV-DNA in the saliva and breast milk.Meanwhile,head B-ultrasound test,otoacoustic emission hearing screening,liver function test,blood routine analysis and so on were performed.Results Among infants from both artificial feeding group and breastfeeding group,during the 1 st,the 3 rd and the 6th month after birth,no significant changes in the DNA viral load of saliva and breast milk cytomegalovirus were found (t =2.832,3.161,3.475,all P ＞ 0.05).And in breastfeeding group,the cytomegalovirus DNA viral load in breast milk were 3.125 × 103 ±2.017 × 102 (the 1st month),2.688 × 103 ±2.251 × 102 (the 3rd month),3.016 × 103 ±2.613 × 102 (the 6th rmonth),also no significance during the time (F =1.725,P =0.667).Meanwhile,the head B-ultrasound,otoacoustic emission hearing screening,liver function test,blood routine analysis,etc showed no clinical significance (F =1.725,P =0.667).Conclusions In the CMV-infected neonates,even if CMV in breast milk is tested to be positive,breastfeeding can continue without causing secondary symptoms of infection.

Objective To investigate the importance of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance in the development of quinolone resistance in clinical isolates of gram-negative bacteria.Methods A total of 541 consecutive clinical isolates of gram-negative ba- cilli resistant or intermediate to ciprofloxacin were screened for the qnrA gene by PCR.Conjugation experiments were carried out with azide-resistant E.coli J53 as a recipient.The aac(6')-Ib-cr gene was detected.The mutations in the quinolone-resist- ance-determining region (QRDR) of the gyrA and parC genes were identified in qnrA positive strains.Results qnrA was identi- fied in 7 of the 541 strains.Among the qnrA positive strains,5 were Enterobacter cloacae.No qnrA was detected in nonfer- menters.Quinolone resistance was transferred in 4 of 7 qnrA positive strains.Transconjugants had 12-to 125-fold increases in MIC of ciprofloxacin relative to that of the recipient.Seven strains contained qnrA with a nucleotide sequence identical to that originally reported.Two transconjugants with higher ciprofloxacin MICs contained aac(6')-Ib-cr gene.Mutations occurred in the QRDR of the gyrA and parC genes in 5 PCR-positive clinical strains.Conclusions Transferable plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance associated with qnrA is highly prevalent in clinical strains of Enterobacter spp.aac(6')-Ib-cr gene and mutations in the quinolone targets may co-exist with qnrA,which may contribute to the further increase of resistance to quinolones.
