Chinese Journal of Geriatric Heart Brain and Vessel Diseases 2014;(6):599-601
ion:Objective To study the effect of enteral nutrition on cardio-pulmonary function in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) .Methods Fifty-eight elderly COPD patients were randomly divided into treatment group (enteral nutrition group ,n=29) and control group (free diet group ,n=29) .Their nutrition parameters (BMI ,serum total protein ,al-bumin and prealbumin) ,LVEF and pulmonary function (FEV1 ,FVC ,FEV1/FVC) were assayed before and after treatment .Results The BMI ,serum levels of total protein ,albumin and prealbu-min were significantly higher in treatment group after treatment than before treatment ( P<0.05) .However ,no significant difference was observed in these parameters in control group after treatment .The LVEF ,FVC ,FEV1 and FEV1/FVC were significantly higher in treatment group than in control group after treatment (P< 0 .05) .Conclusion Enteral nutrition in combination with conventional treatment can improve the nutrition and cardio-pulmonary function in elderly COPD patients ,thus shortening their hospital stay time .

AIM: To explore the effects of mindfulness- based stress reduction ( MBSR ) on anxiety, compliance and visual function in primary open angle glaucoma( POAG) patients. ·METHODS:Totally 64 patients, who were treated with topical medication and were diagnosed with POAG in the department of ophthalmology at Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, were randomly divided into the intervention group ( n=32 ) and the control group ( n=32 ) . Both groups received conventional mental health education while the intervention group was complemented with MBSR intervention. The patient's anxiety status, compliance rates and MD before and after the intervention were evaluated. ·RESULTS:After the MBSR intervention, the scores of HAMA of the intervention group were significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0. 01). The compliance of patients in intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P<0. 01). ·CONCLUSION:The MBSR intervention can effectively relieve the anxiety of patients and improve the compliance in primary open angle glaucoma patients. It can be promoted and put into clinical application.

Objective To discuss the effectiveness of Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant.Method Six cases of deaf children implanted Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant during the March,2004 to September,2005 were analyzed retrospectively.Result All cases were implanted successfully without complication. All deaf children acquired hearing of some degree when implant devices were operated in one month later. Also All cases were getting their speech intelligibility improved by hearing and speech rehabilitation. Conclusion The effectiveness of Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant is related to the age of deaf children with cochlear implant. The early deaf children get cochlear implant and hearing and speech rehabilitation, the better they have speech intelligibility.

Objective To investigate the correlation between serum tumor markers levels with the disease condition activity and the tumor occurrence in the patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods Serum tumor marker CA199,CA153 levels were de-tected in 35 patients with RA (RA group)and 31 healthy controls(normal control group).ESR and CRP were examined and the disease activity (DA)was assessed by the DAS28 score in the RA group. The serum tumor markers levels and the positive rates were compared between the RA group and the normal control group. The correlation between the serum tumor markers levels with ESR,CRP and DAS28 score was analyzed. Results Serum levels and positives rate of CA199,CA153 in the RA group were higher than those in the control group(P <0.05).The serum CA153 level had a positive correlation with the ESR,CRP and DAS28 score in the RA group(P <0.05),but the serum CA199 level had no significant correlation with them. Conclusion The serum levels and positive rates of CA199 and CA199 could be increased in the patients with RA,moreover the increase of serum CA153 level is corre-lated with DA of RA.Therefore the serum tumor marker CA153 level may be used as one of reference indexes for evaluating the DA in the patients with RA.

Objective: To investigate the gene expresssion changes in normal and degeneration cervical intervertebral disc in rats, providing information for clinical diagnosis and treatment of cervical intervertebral disease. Methods: The models of cervical intervertebral disc degeneration in rats caused by imbalance between the dynamic and static forces was established.cDNA microarray chips containing 512 cDNAs were used to investigate the gene expression pattern in cervical intervertebral disc of rat.The results were scanned and analyzed by computer image analysis, and then subjected to standardization, ratio and clustering analysis. Results: Eighteen genes expressed in cervical intervertebral disc were screened out, comprising 11 up regulated and 7 down regulated ones, respectively. This genes expression in cervical spondylosis was similar to other reports. Conclusion: Signal transduction pathways plays an important role in the process of cervical intervertebral disc degeneration.Investigation on the gene expression pattern is helpful for studying degeneration of cervical intervertebral disc pathogenesis.

Objective To explore how to improve the immunogenicity of short epitope peptides of triggering melanoma MART 1 specific CD8 +T cell responses Methods Therapeutic peptides based on the immunodominant MART 127 35, HIV Tat49 57CCP sequence and a tetanus toxoid universal Th epitope were designed and synthesized The immunological functions were studied in PBMCs from HLA A2 + melanoma patients Results The results demonstrated that the peptides could trigger vigorous MART 1 specific CD8 + CTL activities in vitro The function of peptide containing MART 127 35 and tetanus universal Th epitope was more vigorous than that of MART 127 35 peptide, and the immunogenicty of the peptides with HIV Tat49 57CCP sequence, MART 127 35 and tetanus universal Th epitope was the most vigorous Conclusion Linkage of HIV Tat49 57CCP sequence and a tetanus universal Th epitope could dramatically improve the immunogenictiy of the MART 127 35 epitope peptide

Objective To establish the quality standard of Qingshen Granules. Methods Thin-layer chrmatography was used to identify Rheum officinale Baill., Hedyotis Diffusa Wild. and Coptis chinensis Franch.. The contents of rhein, emodin and chrysophanol were determined by HPLC. The HPLC consisted of Kromasil C18 (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm), methanol-0.1% phosphonic acid (70∶30) as mobile phase, flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, detection wavelength at 245 nm, and the column temperature was 30 ℃. Results The results of TLC showed that relevant spots were clear without interference against the negative sample. The calibration curves for rhein, emodin and chrysophanol were found to be linear within the range of 0.003 3-0.42 μg (r =0.999 9), 0.008 0-0.51 μg (r=1.000 0), 0.009 9-0.32 μg (r=1.000 0), respectively. The average recoveries were 98.84%, 99.04% and 100.35% with RSD of 1.30% (n=6), 1.34% (n=6) and 1.89% (n=6), respectively. Conclusion The methods are accurate and quick in qualitative identification and quantitative assay, and can be used for the quality control of Qingshen Granules.
