Objective To explore the influence of the fetal microchemirism in the thyroid tissue on the Graves' disease(GD) animal model. Methods Mice in experimental group were injected with Ad-TSH289(5?108IU) to construct the GD animal model, and when the immunization was over, the experimental group was randomly divided into three parts again: two groups were mated with male mice until two weeks of pregnancy or two weeks post-partum while the other group was simple immunized with Ad-TSH289 only.SRY was tested by real-time PCR.Thyroid tissue was stained with HE for pathological examination. Results Histological examination of the thyroid gland revealed that 61.8% of simple immunized mice had goiter, the success rate of GD animal model was 38.5% in pregnancy group, but 76.9% in postpartum groups(P

Objective: To investigate the antitumor effect of lactobacillus peptidoglycan (PG) and explore its possible mechanisms. Methods: The inhibition for colon tumor growth, and the influence on the activities of CTL, NK, PM?, IL-1, IL-2, TNF-?, IFN-?and nitric oxide secretion were investigated in mice by cell culture, DNA agrose gel electrophoresis, respectively. Results: Growth in vivo of CT26 colon tumor was significantly inhibited by ip injection of PG. PG also induced significantly the activities of IL-1, TNF-?, IFN-?, CTL, NK, PM?and the production of nitric oxide, but had no effect on the activity of IL-2. Conclusion: The peptidoglycan derived from lactobacillus inhibited the colon tumor growth through activation of murine immunity. The antitumor effect of PG maybe partly if not all, induced, by the enhanced production of IFN-?, TNF-?and NO, through activation of NK cell and PM?. Key word: peptidoglycan; antitumor; immunity; cell activity; cytokine

Objective:To examine the expression of odontoblast related proteins in dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs)induced by BMP-7.Methods:DPSCs were cultured in the common culture medium or medium supplemented with 1 00 ng/ml BMP-7.Electron microscope,CCK8 and immunohistochemical staining were carried out to estimate the cell morphology and differentiation.Results:In-duced by BMP-7,the morphology of DPSCs was not changed, the proliferation of DPSCs was slower than that of the cells without BMP-7 treatment.DPSCs were negative for the expression of DSPP,DMP-7 and ALP.However,DPSCs were found strongly positive for DSPP,DMP-7 and ALP after the induction of BMP-7.Conclusion:BMP-7 induction may promote the differentiation of DPSCs.

Objective To explore the characteristics of blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in healthy native kidneys. To investigate the relationship between BOLD-MRI and common physiological in-dexes. Methods GE 3.0T MRI scanner and Torsopa phased-array coil were employed to acquire renal coronal T1WI and BOLD image. Ninety patients who were ruled out chronic kidney diseases underwent BOLD-MRI with T2*-spoiled gradient recalled echo (T2*SPGR) sequence. BOLD images were analyzed on R2*map software. Cortical and medullary R2*values were analyzed in bilateral kidneys and in different gender. Different regional R2*values in cortex and medulla were also ana-lyzed. Physiological indices including age, body height and weight, body mass index (BMI), body surface area (BSA), estimat-ed glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were recorded. Correlation between R2*value and physiological indices were analyzed. Results Bilateral renal cortical R2*values [left (16.56±1.40) Hz and right (16.66±1.28)Hz, respectively] were less than val-ues in medulla [left (28.82±3.71)Hz and right (28.36±3.72)Hz, respectively]. Female and male cortical R2*values [female (16.55±1.30Hz) and male (16.66±1.38)Hz, respectively] were also less than corresponding values in medulla [female (28.46± 3.64) Hz and male (28.70±3.78) Hz, respectively]. In bilateral renal medullary region, R2*values in low pole (27.29±3.05) Hz was less than values in middle (29.32±3.47) Hz and upper pole (29.16±4.21)Hz (F=15.184, P<0.001). Age was positive-ly correlated with R2* values in medulla (r =0.284, P =0.002). However, eGFR was negatively correlated with medullary R2*value (r=-0.232, P=0.007). Conclusion R2*values reflected the levels of renal partial pressure of oxygen and as-sessed the degree of renal ischemia. BOLD MRI could offer a simple, convenient and noninvasive method for to evaluate renal oxygen metabolism in cortex and medulla.

Objective To explore the influnce on the endothelin-1 (ET-1) and clinical application value of continuous blood purification (CBP) on the treatment of severe craniocerebral injury with the neurogenic pulmonary edema (NPE).Methods All data about sixty patients with NPE were prospectively studied. These 60 patients were randomly (random number) divided into control group (n =30) and treatment group (n =30).In control group, patients were rapidly given with lowering intracranial pressure, mechanical ventilation, calming, antibiotic therapy and so on.In the treatment group, patients received CBP integrated with routine treatment. On admission and 72 h posttreatment,ET-1,static lung compliance and oxygenation index were observed.Time of mechanical ventilation support, incidence rates of multipal organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) were compared between two groups. The paired t-test was used for the amount data within the group.Chi-square was used for the constitute ratio and incidence ratio of the each relevant information.P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results Compared to the control group, the level of ET-1 was decreased significantly in the treatment group [(48 ± 10) ng/L vs.(85 ± 14) ng/L] after 72 h post-treatment,while static lung compliance [(60.9 ± 2.3) mL/cmH2O vs.(31.4 ±4.8) mL/cmH2O] and oxygenation index [(317 ± 11) mmHg vs.(192 ± 14) mmHg] increased significantly (P < 0.05).In treatment group and control group, the time of respirator intervention were [(6.0 ± 2.1) d vs.(11 ± 3.2) d],and the statistical significance was shown (P < 0.05).Compared to the control group [56.7% (17/30)],incidence rate of MODS [20.0% (6/30)] was lower in treatment group (P < 0.05).Conclusions CBP combined with routine treatment, which can remove ET-1 effectively, improve oxygenation, reduce the time of mechanical ventilation support and incidence rate of MODS.
