Objective To evaluate the performance of a latex enhanced immunoturbidimetric?2-microglobulin kit in clinical use. Methods The lower limit of detection,precision,accuracy and linearity range was determined on the automatic chemistry analyzer Hitachi 7170S. Results The lower limit of detection was 0. 09mg/L. The within-run precision was less than 4% while the between-run precision was less than 8%. The accuracy was 99.29 % and the linearity range was 0.2～18mg/L. Conclusion The?2-microgiobulin kit shows good performance in clinical use.

Objective To improve the cognition of abnormal changes of the medial soft tissue of styloid process (MSTSP) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy. Methods CT scans of nasopharynx in 39 cases with NPC that had change at the MSTSP in NPC after radiotherapy were performed.CT findings of recurrence and non-recurrence at MSTSP were studied and compared carefully.Results In the recurrence cases, the MSTSP was thickening and compactness in all cases, in the non-recurrence cases ,only 37.04% (10/27) were thickening and compactness at MSTSP. In all the cases which had thickening and compactness of the MSTSP, the borders were slightly protruding in 9 cases and the borders were straight in 3 cases in the recurrence cases, while the borders were straight in 7 cases and the borders were slightly hollow in 3 cases,and there wasn't any case appeared as protruding of borders in the non-recurrence cases. OBJECTIVE:To establish HPLC-ELSD method for content determination of astragaloside Ⅳ in Qizhi jiangtang granules. METHODS:The separation was performed on Hypersil ODS2(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m)column with acetonitrile-water(32 ∶ 68)as mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.0 mL?min-1. Injection volume was 10 ?L. The column temperature was 25 ℃. The temperature of drift tube for measurement was 110 ℃ and flow rate of N2 was 3.12 SLPM. RESULTS:Regression equation was A=1.699 C+6.181. The linear range of astragaloside Ⅳ was 0.259～1.295 mg?mL-1(r=0.999 6,n=5) with lowest detectable limit of 5.18 ?g?mL-1. An average recovery rate were 97.75%(RSD=2.17%). CONCLUSION:The method is simple,rapid and reliable for quality control of Qizhi jiangtang granules.

Objective To establish a HPLC method to determine the content of acteoside in Conghuang Bushen Capsule. Methods The HPLC method was employed with a column of Hypersil ODS2(4.6 mm? 250 mm,5 ? m) and a mobile phase of acetonitrile-methanol-1 % HOAc(13 ∶ 9 ∶ 78),the detection wavelength being at 334 nm,flow rate being 1.0 mL/min and the column temperature being at 40 ℃ . Results The linear range was 0.108 5 ? g ～ 0.650 7 ? g,r=0.999; 1.The average recovery of acteoside and RSD were 98.42 % and 1.89 %,respectively. Conclusion The present method is simple,rapid and reproducible. It can be used for quality control of Conghuang Bushen Capsule.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the effectiveness of probiotics in adjunctive prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea(CID),and to provide evidence-based reference in the clinic. METHODS:All relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of probiotics in adjunctive prevention and treatment of CID were collected by searching EMBase,Co-chrane library,PubMed,CJFD,VIP,Wanfang databases and CBM. Meta-analysis were performed with Rev Man 5.2 software af-ter data extraction and quality evaluation by Cochrane Hand book 5.0risk-bias assessment tool. RESULTS:10 RCTs were includ-ed,involving 871 patients. The results of Meta-analysis showed that addition of probiotics on the basis of conventional symptomatic therapy significantly reduced the total rate of diarrhea in cancer patients [OR=0.31,95%CI(0.20,0.49),P<0.001] and Ⅲ-Ⅳ diar-rhea rate[OR=0.09,95%CI(0.03,0.24),P<0.001],improved overall response rate [OR=4.16,95%CI(2.40,7.23),P<0.001] and complete remission rate [OR=2.55,95%CI(1.66,3.90),P<0.001],with statistical significance. The probiotics had little effect onⅠ-Ⅱlevel diarrhea rate[OR=0.86,95%CI(0.48,1.56),P=0.62] and partial remission rate[OR=1.00,95%CI(0.67,1.50),P=1.00],with statistical significance. CONCLUSIONS:The use of probiotics before chemotherapy can effectively prevent the occur-rence of severe CID in cancer patients;in the treatment of CID,the combination of probiotics can also improve therapeutic effica-cy of conventional symptomatic treatment.

OBJECTIVE: To provide references for the improvement of drug recall system in China.METHODS: The problems existing in the drug recall system in China were analyzed through a comparison of the drug recall system between China and Australia.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: China should draw useful experiences from Australia to improve its drug recall system by perfecting the legal system and tracking measures,determining stratified drugs and the responsibilities of government etc.

This study was aimed to optimize the extraction process of resveratrol by central composite design (CCD) and response surface method (RSM), based on the result of single factor experiment. Resveratrol was extracted from Polygonum cuspidatum by water bath extraction of organic solvent. And content of resveratrol was taken as index in the investigation of solvent concentration effect, extraction time and solvent content on extraction process. The results showed that the optimum condition was 12.7 times amount of 72.0% ethanol and extract for 2 times under the temperature of 50℃, 1.1 h for each time; the average deviation between the maximum theoretical value and measured value was 0.83%. It was concluded that this extraction process was highly predictive, which provided experimental evidence for the industrial production of P. cuspidatum extraction.

AIM:To elucidate the molecular mechanisms of lipoic acid (LA) on redox regulation and digestive function in intestine of C57BL/6 mice fed high fat diet (HFD).METHODS:C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned to one of three groups (n=8). The control group consumed an ordinary diet. The other two experimental groups were fed with a high fat diet,high fat plus 0.1% LA. After 6 weeks,the activities of digestive enzymes were examined. In order to evaluate the antioxidant status of the mice,superoxide dismutase (SOD),malondialdehyde (MDA),total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in intestinal homogenate were measured. To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of LA,the gene expression profiles in intestine were examined using the GeneChip microarray system.RESULTS:A depressed antioxidant defense system,accompanied by digestive and absorptive function impairment,was observed in HFD-fed mice. These changes were partially restored in the LA-treated group. DNA microarray analysis of intestine showed that LA ingestion up-regulated the expression of genes related to free-radical scavenger enzymes,digestive enzymes and transporters.CONCLUSION:Treatment with LA improves redox homeostasis and the function of intestine in mice fed HFD. The mechanism may involve preventing oxidative stress by scavenging ROS directly and increasing those of free-radical scavenger enzymes gene expression indirectly.
