2.Mechanisms underlying the antibiotic resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(11):-
Pseudomonas aeruginosa,a ubiquitous organism, shows a remarkable resistance to antibiotics because of its low permeability of the outer-membrane,over-expression of efflux pumps, inactivation of antibotics,or mutations in targets. These mechanisms are often present simultaneously, and increase the burden on clinical therapy.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(10):-
Small cell lung cancer, most malignant and highly aggressive has a high relapse rate due to drug resistance. Potential strategies as high dose chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow transplantation and analysis on genes of metastases are focused on. In spite of great improvement, methods and clinic significances of bone marrow micrometastases are still to be determinated. Bone micrometastases may be a resort to clarify the mechanism of metastases.
4.Mechanism of automatic processing of cartoon facial expressions:a mismatch negativity study
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2010;19(6):526-528
Objective To investigate the mechanism of automatic processing of cartoon facial expressions by using event-related potential(ERP).Methods Sixteen healthy volunteers (7 males and 9 females) were recruited for this study.The subjects were instructed to mentally count green faces (targets) and ignore the red ones (non-targets) including standard neutral expressions and deviant emotional expressions.Thirty two channels electroencephalogram (EEG) was recorded by Neuroscan Nuamps System.The amplitudes of mismatch negativity (MMN) were analyzed.Results (1) MMN1:the amplitudes were(-0.570 ± 0.076) μV (TP7/TP8),(-0.840 ±0.119) μV(A1/A2) ,(-1.199 ±0.105)μV(T5/T6) ,(-1.184 ±0.102)μV(O1/O2).There was a significant main effect of site (F(3,45) = 8.340, P < 0.05 ) and an interaction of orientation × hemisphere (F(1,15) =11.977, P<0.05).( 2 ) MMN2: the amplitudes were (-0.469 ± 0.126 ) μV ( TP7/TP8 ), (-1.014 ± 0.255 ) μV(A1/A2) ,(-1.071 ±0.182)μV(T5/T6), (-0.915 ±0.178)μV (O1/O2).There was a significant main effect of orientation (F(1,15) = 7.232, P < 0.05 ) and interactions of orientation × type (F(1,15) = 6.458, P < 0.05 )and orientation × hemisphere(F(1,15) = 11.907, P<0.05 ).Conclusion Cartoon emotional faces elicit expressionrelated MMN indexing automatic processing.The MMN amplitude is right-lateralized and larger for negative than positive expression.

The urinary concentration of pseudouridine, primarily a degradation product of transfer ribonucleic acid, was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography in 84 patients with lung cancer, 22 patients with pulmonary infectious diseases and 69 healthy controls. The concentration of pseudouridine in the patient with lung cancer (33.46 ? 9.94nmol/ ?mol) was significantly higher than that in the paients with pulmonary infectious diseases (26.25 ? 4.17nmol/ ?mol, P
6. Study on characteristics and microscopic characteristics of wild ginseng, wild ginseng under forest, unimplanted ginseng, and cultivated ginseng
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2013;44(16):2304-2307
Objective: To compare the characteristics and microscopic characteristics of wild ginseng, wild ginseng under forest, unimplanted ginseng, and cultivated ginseng, and meantime to establish the retrieval table of ginseng in different growth modes. Methods: To observe the characteristics of ginseng in different growth modes on rhizomes, adventitious roots, bodies, grains, lateral roots, and fibrous roots, and to study the transverse microscopic characteristics of taproots and fibrous roots. Results: The most important traits of wild ginseng and wild ginseng under forest were column rhizomes, drooping taproots, wire lines, flexible branch beards, and pearl dots. Calcium oxalate crystals of the ginseng main roots and xylems of the fibrous roots showed the increasing trend with the growth of age, but starch granule decreased. So we could distinguish the different growth ages of ginseng. Conclusion: The rhizomes, adventitious roots, grains, main roots, and fibrous roots of wild ginseng, wild ginseng under forest, unimplanted ginseng, and cultivated ginseng have the significant differences.

Objective To investigate the correlation of the prevalence of periodontitis with age and course of disease in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of 884 patients with diabetes (both sexes, aged 35-79 yr) were involved in present study.Diagnosis of periodontitis was made according to the 1999 WHO standard, and of type 2 diabetes to the 1997 WHO standard.Age,gender, course of diabetes and periodontal state of those patients were recorded. The patients were grouped according to their age (10 yr interval) and course of disease (5 years interval).Based on the grouping, the collected data were input into ACCESS data bank and statistically analyzed with SAS software, and the prevalence of periodontitis were then compared. Results The prevalence of periodontitis in patients with type 2 diabetes increased with the increasing of age and with the prolonging of disease course (P

Objective To investigate the relationship among the proliferation of CD4+T cells, the intracellular levels of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1), and allergic bronchial asthma. Methods Dermatophagoides farinae antigen were prepared as allergen. Twenty-five patients with asthma and 15 healthy individuals were enrolled and divided into blank control group, allergen group and self control group, respectively, after venous blood sample collection. The proliferation of CD4+T cells and the distributions of CD4+/IL-10+, CD4+/TGF-?+1 and CD4+/IL-10+/TGF-?+1 were measuredby flow cytometry (FCM). Results The distributions of CD4+/IL-10+, CD4+/TGF-?+1 and CD4+/IL-10+/TGF-?+1 could hardly be detected in the peripheral blood samples of the blank controls of the patients with asthma and healthy ones. In the allergen group of the healthy individuals, the peripheral blood CD4+T cells were significantly proliferated, and the proportions of CD4+T cells andCD4+/IL-10+ cells were much higher than the self control group, while there was no significantly increase in the proportions of CD4+/TGF-?+1 and CD4+/IL-10+/TGF-?+1 subgroups. In the allergen group of those with asthma, the proportions of peripheral blood CD4+, CD4+/IL-10+, CD4+/TGF-?+1 and CD4+/IL-10+/TGF-?+1 cells were not found significantly increased compared with those self controls. After being activated by allergen, the proportion of peripheral blood CD4+/IL-10+ cells was significantly lower in the patients with asthma than the healthy individuals(P
