Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(09):-
Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(sVCAM-1)in children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura(HSP).Methods The levels of plasma VEGF and sVCAM-1 were measured in 58 children with HSP and 23 normal children by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),respectively. Results The plasma levels of VEGF and sVCAM-1 of HSP children at acute stage were significantely higher than those of HSP children at the remission stage and those of the controls(Pa

Objective To study the variation of serum IL-18 and TNF-? in infants with cytomegalovirus (CMV) hepatitis before and after treatment. Methods The levels of serum IL-18 and TNF-? in 36 infants with CMV-hepatitis before and after treatment and in 21 normal infants were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results Serum levels of IL-18 and TNF-? in infants with CMV-heptitis were obviously higher than those in normal infants (P

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(15):-
Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor/vcascular endothelial growth factor receptor(VEGF/VEGFR) in bone marrow of children with acute leukemia(AL),and explore their relationship of the clinical features, and observe changes before and after chemotheropy. Methods The bone marrows of 53 children with AL were assayed to study the expression of VEGF/VEGFR(KDR,Flt-1)before and after chemtheropy with S-P immhistochemical staining.Their relations to the clinical features were evaluated. Results The expressions of VEGF,Flt-1,KDR were significantly higher in newly diagnosed children with AL than those of control group. They were significantly higher in children with acute myeloid leukemia(AML) than in children with ALL.The expressions of VEGF,Flt-1,KDR in remission chidren after chemotheropy were significantly lower than before chemotheropy. There was a positive correlation of the percentage of bone marrow blasts with VEGF expression in children with AL.There was also a positive correlation of the percentage of leukemic cell in blood rountine with VEGF expression. For the untreated group of children,no correlation was found between expressions of VEGF,Flt-1,KDR and age, sex, extramedullary infiltration. Conclusions Expression levels of VEGF,Flt-1,KDR in bone marrow of children with AL increases.VEGF/VEGFR may play an important role in process of chidhood AL.

Objective To compare the biological characteristics of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADAS) and bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs).Methods The adipose and bone marrow-derived sources of mesenchymal stem cells were separated, and their phenotype, cell doubling time and the secretion of factors were compared. They were also used to detect T-cell cycle, activation, and proliferation inhibition. Results BMSCs and ADAS were similar on the cell phenotype and the differences only existed in the expression of only CD106.For the proliferation rate,ADAS grew faster than BMSCs (doubling time 28 h vs.39 h,P<0.05); ADAS and BMSCs also had the same ability to inhibit T cell proliferation, and dose-dependent effects existed in mitogen-stimulated Tcell proliferation and MLR: there was a strong inhibitory effect in 1:2,but this effect disappeared at 1: 100.Both ADAS and BMSCs could arrest most T cells in the G0/G1 phase, but the role of ADAS was weaker than that of the BMSCs.ADAS could not inhibit apoptosis of T cells.ADAS and BMSCs played the same roles in inhibiting the differentiation of TH0 to TH1 or TH2: mainly inhibiting differentiation of TH 0 to TH1 cells (IL-2-and IFN-γ-producing cells),but having no significant effect on TH2 cells (IL-4-and IL 10-producing cells). Conclusion ADAS and BMSC have a similar role in immune regulation. In the same volume, fat tissue has the number of more than 10 times of stem cell precursor cells than that of bone marrow,so adipose tissue is a more promising stem cells transplant source.

AIM:To choose the optimal processing condition for stir-frying Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae with honey.METHODS:The contents of glycyrrhizic acid and liquiritin and macroscopical identification were selected as indexes according to orthogonal design L_9(3~4),four factors including the proportion of processed honey and water, soaking moistening time, drying temperature, and drying time.RESULTS:Optional processing conditions consisted of using two part processed honey to one part water as mixture,30 min soaring moistening time, oven temperature rose to 130 ℃ and keeping for 20 min.CONCLUSION:The above processing can make the contents of glycyrrhizic acid liquiritin maintaining more 2.33%(RSD 0.43%)and 0.9%(RSD 1.10%),the optimal honey-fried processing technology for Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae is reasonable.

Objective To investigate the influence of clinical results of early low frequency training for acute Achilles tendon rupture after anchors repair. Methods A total of 35 patients with acute Achilles tendon rupture were treated with early low frequency training after anchors repair, including 28 males and 7 females.Aged 18 to 37 years, mean 26 years old.Duration 2h to 5d from injury to therapy. All patients palpated the discontinuity of Achilles tendon, limitative activity of ankle plantar flexion,Thompson test was positive, and MRI examination was taken. Results 35 patients were followed up for 12 to 18 months, with an average follow -up of 14.5 months.According to the Amer-Lindholm score, excellent in 30 cases, good in 5 cases, the good rate was 100%.All the wounds were healed, without infection, dehiscence, sural nerve injury and re -rupture occurred. Conclusion Early low frequency training after anchors repair for acute Achilles tendon rupture is safe and reliable, patients can receive a better functional outcome.
