The surface-enhanced Raman spectra of bilirubin and biliverdin were obtained.By the bands analysis of the spectra, the orientation of bilirubin and biliverdin on the surface of silver colloid was discussed. In such case, the bilirubin was adsorbed on the silver colloid particle with the two planar pyrromethenone groups intercalated into the globe silver colloid particle, however, the biliverdin might lie flat on the surface of silver colloid with syn-synsyn conformation.

Objective To study the inter-rater reliability of Wisconsin Gait Scale (WGS) and Gait Abnormality Rating Scale (GARS) in patients with stroke. Methods 20 hemiplegic patients were required to walk on their comfortable speed and videotaped from frontal, backward and lateral. The video recordings were scored with WGS and GARS by 2 experienced physical therapists. Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was calculated for the scores in each category and the total score. Results ICC for the WGS were 0.372~1, and were 0~0.875 for the GARS. Conclusion WGS is more appropriater to assess the gait of hemiplegic stroke patients than GARS.

Objective To discuss the femoral neck anteversion(FNA) of developmental dislocation of the hip(DDH) and guide operation with visual and digitalized picture in the dimensional(3D) CT.Methods Ninety children with unilateral DDH were selected, and they were analyzed using 3D CT.Children whose FNA exceed 45 degree received the subtrochanter osteotomy with images from different direction,FNA of hip was measured respectively before and after operation and was measured in normal and abnormal hips respectively,FNA of hip received respectively statistical treatment.Ninety patients (90 hips) were followed up ranging from 3 months to 2 years with the mean of 13 months. Results In the group younger than 18 months, the FNA whose in normal hips was(19.40?3.512)degree,the FNA while(68.45?12.272)degree in dysplasia hips respectively, the FNA measured after operation was (20.45?2.940) degree;in the group elder than 6 years, there were significantly statistical differences, the FNA in normal hips was(19.44?3.561)degree,in dysplasia hips respectively was(73.49?12.678)degree,while the FNA measured after operation was(18.28?1.931)degree.Clinical assessment was performed according to Mckay′s classification. The results showed that the overall excellent or good rate was 95.6%.Conclusions 3D CT method is a new accurate and convenient and reduplicative method for measuring FNA.It will be more helpful for related operations when 3D images are considered.

ObjectiveTo study the speciality of hemodynamics in middle cerebral artery(MCA) by means of transcranial color Doppler ultrasound(TCCD) at different tilting angles in patients with cervical and thoracic spinal cord injury.Methods48 patients with spinal cord injury were involved. The velocity of peak systolic(PSV), end diastolic(EDV) and mean velocity(MV) of MCA on the tiltable at 0°,30°,60°,80° were measured.ResultsThere was no significant difference in PSV between 0°and 30°(P>0.05), while EDV and MV showed very significant (P<0.01)from 0°to 30°,60°and 80° position. From 0°to 60°,80°,there were differences not only at EDV and MV, but also PSV(P<0.01).ConclusionThe velocities of MCA were changed at different tilting angles in the patients with spinal cord injury.

ObjectiveTo study the features of lower limb vein thrombus patients after spinal cord injury and the effects of thrombolysis therapy.MethodsWe practiced ultrasonography on 207 patients with lower limb swelling after spinal cord injury. ResultsAmong the 207 patients, 66 had thrombus, the positive rate was 31%: acute thrombus 58 cases, subacute thrombus 1 cases and chronic thrombus 7 cases. Conclusions Ultrasonography provides an important basis for the qualitative diagnoses of lower limb vein thrombus. It has certain clinical guiding effects in choosing methods of treatment.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(3):258-260
Background Exophthalmos caused by brain-related diseases will result in the serious outcome if treated improperly. It will be helpful for the diagnosis of the disease correctly when signs and symptoms are taken into consideration. Objective This study was to analyze the cause and clinical manifestations of exophthalmos due to brain-related diseases. Methods The elinical data from 38 patients with exophthalmos caused by brain-related diseases was collected and analyzed retrospectively. The sex, age, cause, exophthalmos range, symptom and sign of patients were considered. Results The gender of 38 patients was 21 males(55.26%)and 17 females(44.74%),aged from 16 to 71 years old with the average age 37.21.Four types of brain-related diseases were associated with the exophthalmos of eyeballs, including benign tumor 65.79%(25/38)containing the meningioma 60.53%(23/38),chordoma 5.26%(2/38);malignant tumor 5.26%(2/38)containing the malignant meningioma 2.63%(1/38),choroid tong one cases of papillary carcinoma 2.63%(1/38);carotid-cavernous fistula 26.32%(10/38);meningoencephalocele 2.63%(1/38).Exophthaimos ranged from 18 to 35 mm in the patients with the average value of 22.17 mm.In all of the 38 patients, the right eyes were 36.84%(14/38),and left eyes were 55.26%(14/38)and bilateral eyes 7.89%(3/38).Accompanying signs and symptoms of meningioma included long-term headache (65.22%),nausea and vomiting(21.74%).declined vision(17.39%),elevated intraocular pressure, visual field shrink and loss,etc..Accompanying signs and symptoms of carotid cavernous fistula were loss of vision, pulsatile exophthalmos, noise over the orbit, ocular limitation of movement, eyelid edema(80%),bulbar conjunctival congestion, episodes of eyelid,diplopia(80%),headache(60%). Conclusion Some brain diseases are often accompanied by exophthalmos.Exophthaimos can provide useful clues to the diagnosis of brain diseases.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Zhibai Dihuang Pill (ZBDHP) on urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and sperm quality in ureaplasma urealyticum (Uu) infection infertile patients.
METHODSRecruited were 80 infertility patients with Uu infection at Andriatrics Clinics and Department of Reproduction, including 130 cases of positive Uu semen and 50 cases of negative Uu semen. Patients with positive Uu semen were randomly assigned to the observation group (72 cases) and the control group (58 cases) according to the visit sequence. All patients took antibiotics for 2 weeks. Patients in the observation group additionally took ZBDHP, 6 g each time, twice daily. Those in the control group additionally took Vit E (100 mg each time, twice per day) and ATP (40 mg each time, twice per day). The therapeutic course for all was 90 days. Semen parameters and uPA contents of the sperm membrane were detected and comparatively analyzed.
RESULTSThe sperm membrane uPA content, the sperm motility, the sperm viability, and the percentage of normal morphology sperm in Uu positive infected patients were lower than those in Uu negative infected patients with statistical difference (P < 0.05), but with no significant difference in the sperm density between the two groups (P > 0.05). There was no statistical difference in pre-treatment sperm membrane uPA contents and sperm parameters between the two groups (P > 0.05). Compared with before treatment in the same group, the sperm membrane uPA content, the sperm motility, the sperm viability, and the percentage of normal morphology sperm obviously increased in the two groups with statistical difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the sperm membrane uPA content increased more obviously in the observation group, with statistical difference when compared with the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSInfection with Uu leads to decreased uPA content of sperm membrance and the sperm motility. ZBDHP could effectively treat Uu infected infertility possibly through fighting against Uu damaged sperm membrane and make the sperm membrane uPA content return to normal, and elevate the fertilizability of sperms.
