Objective To find out the main influence factors for smoking cessation.Method The follow-up survey was carried out in the 300 persons among participants from international Quit &Win in 2004 in TianJin,and they were interviewed by phone or face to face.Result The smoking cessation rate of one year was 51.00%.The effect of smoke quitting was the same among age,marriage and educated history,but different in occupation Smoking relapse was affected by the surrounding people.Conclusion The effect of smoking cessation were satisfactory,some measures should be adopted according to the influence factors for the quitting.

Objective To study the levels of umbilical plasma ?-endorphin (?-EP) in normal and abnormal pregnancy and the influencing factors. Methods The umbilical plasma ?-EP concentrations of 95 cases were measured by radioimmunoassay. Linear regression was used to find out the influencing factors of ?-EP including: neonatal gestational age, gender, birth weight, mode of delivery, maternal hypertension, maternal diabetes, premature rupture of membranes(PROM) and fetal distress. Objective To explore the relationship between severity of symptom and immune function in left-to-right shunt congenital heart disease (CHD) infants combined with pneumonia. Methods The clinical data of 45 left-to-right shunt CHD combined with pneumonia infants were retrospectively analyzed. The infants were divided into 2 groups according to the modified Ross score:mild group (0-6 scores, 28 cases) and severe group (7-12 scores, 17 cases);then, the infants were divided into 2 groups according to deformities:single deformity group (the infants had a kind of deformity such as ventricular septal defect, atrial septal defect and patent ductus arteriosus, 21 cases) and composite/complex deformity group (the infants combined 2 or more deformities or other malformations, 24 cases). Twelve cases of healthy check-up infants were selected as control group. The levels of lymphocyte subsets (including CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+, NK cell and B lymphocyte) and IgG, IgA, IgM were detected in every group. Results There were no statistical differences in IgG, IgA, IgM, CD8 +, CD4 +/CD8 +, NK cell and B lymphocyte among mild group, severe group and control group or single deformity group, composite/ complex deformity group and control groups (P>0.05). The CD3+ in severe group was significantly lower than that in mild group and control group (0.59 ± 0.10 vs. 0.69 ± 0.13 and 0.69 ± 0.12), the CD4+was significantly lower than that in control group (0.34 ± 0.07 vs. 0.45 ± 0.09), and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). For CD4+, though there was statistically difference among single deformity group, composite/complex deformity group and control groups (P<0.05), no statistically significant difference was in multiple comparison among the 3 groups (P>0.05). The CD4 + in the composite/ complex deformity group was significantly lower than that in the single deformity group and the control group (0.34 ± 0.07 vs. 0.45 ± 0.15 and 0.45 ± 0.09), and there was statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusions In left-to-right shunt CHD infants combined with pneumonia, the reduction of CD3+and CD4+may be one of the causes of serious illness.

ObjectiveTo study central venous oxygen saturation (ScyO2) in controlled hemorrhagic shock rabbits resuscitation process as a transfusion trigger and traditional transfusion trigger of comparison.MethodsSelection New Zealand pure line of rabbit 32 only,simple randonly divided into 4 groups,groups A and B for the observation group,groups C and D as control group,groups of eight only.A,B,C,D four groups respectively by ScvO2 ≤70％,ScvO2 ≤75％,hemoglobin (Hb)≥8g/dl,blood loss for the whole blood volume≥30％ as transfusion trigger.From right femoral artery bloodletting 10 minute inside,made the MAP to about (40 ± 5 )mmHg,and maintained the blood pressure 60 minutes,established controlled hemorrhagic shock rabbits of animal model.And then started to resuscitate,with colloid and crystalloid infusion according to the proportion 1∶2,infusion rate of about 10 ～ 15ml/( kg · h),according to the blood pressure and heart rate,and proper adjustment according to the different requirements of each group conducted a blood transfusion.Monitoring based value,shock,shock treatment 30 minutes,60 minutes,120 minutes,180 minutes all time points,and various indexes of blood loss,blood transfusions,crystalloid and colloid fluid volume and so on.ResultsIn shock treatment observation group A late blood pressure,pH,BE,HCO3-,O2ER etc compared with the other three groups had obvious statistical differences ( P ＜ 0.05 ),group B with C and D two groups at the same time points each monitoring were no significant differences ( P ＞0.05 ).The volume of transfusion group C was most,compared with the other three groups were significant difference ( P ＜ 0.05 ),group D of blood transfusions than A,B two groups (P ＜ 0.05 ),groups A and B infused colloid fluid,crystal fluid volume than groups C and D ( P ＜ 0.05 ),each group blood lossed without significant difference.ConclusionScvO2 for controlled hemorrhagic shock rabbit resuscitation monitoring can guide controlled hemorrhagic shock rabbit of blood transfusions,according to ScvO2 ≤75％ transfusion with traditional according to Hb or blood loss transfusion trigger comparison,can achieve the same resuscitation effect,and can more accurately and individualized guide transfusion,reduce unnecessary blood transfusions,save resources.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the semen quality of cancer patients and search for a better way of sperm cryopreservation for them.

METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed the quality of the semen from 43 cancer patients under cryopreservation in the Sperm Bank of Zhejiang Province, and compared the semen parameters between the cancer patients and 248 normal donors as well as between the testicular cancer cases (n=22) and non-testicular cancer cases (n=21).

RESULTSThe cancer patients exhibited significantly lower semen quality than the normal donors as in sperm concentration (60.90 x 10(6)/ml vs 74.27 x 10(6)/ml), progressive motility (41.07% vs 51.79%), and recovery rate (49.98% vs 57.33%) (all P <0.05). Furthermore, the progressive sperm motility and sperm recovery rate after freezing were significantly decreased in the testicular cancer cases (15.68% and 42.81%) than in the non-testicular cancer cases (28.36% and 57.53%) (both P <0.05).

CONCLUSIONSemen quality declines in cancer patients, and therefore early sperm cryopreservation is essential for them. Due to the poor sperm motility and recovery rate of testicular cancer patients after freezing, further investigation is required on the improvement of sperm cryopreservation methods.

Long-term potentiation(LTP) of synaptic activity in the hippocampal is the most widely researched model of synaptic plasticity,which is believed to underlie the brain function of learning and memory.Mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPK) respond to a variety of cellular and extracellular stimuli, such as growth factors,cytokines,extracellular mitogen and stresses.MAPK are involved in complex processes such as in cell differentiation,proliferation and programmed cell death.It has been reported that the upstream regulators and downstream substrats of MAPKs still widely exist in the mature neuron.MAPKs cascade induces phosphorylation of many functional protein including some receptors and kinases that is associated with induction and maintain of the LTP in the neuron,indicating that MAPKs do play a crucial role in the synaptic plasticity.Extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK),c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK) and p38 activity and its relationship with LTP are reviewed.

Objective To explore the protective effect of L-carnitine on neonates with myocardial injury caused by as?phyxia. Methods Forty-four neonates with myocardial injury caused by asphyxia were randomly divided into L-carnitine treatment group (21 cases) and control group (23 cases). Patients in control group were received routine treatment and pa?tients in treatment group were given L-carnitine 0. 1 g/(kg · d) on the basis of routine treatment for 7 days. Symptoms and physical signs were observed before therapy and during the treatment in two groups. Before and after the treatment, plasma levels of free L-carnitine and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) were detected with the method of colorimetric assay and chemilumi?nescent, respectively. Results The clinical effective rate was significantly higher in treatment group than that of control group (90.48%vs 60.87%, P<0. 05). Compared with the control group, there was a significantly higher plasma concentra?tion of free L-carnitine in treatment group after treatment [(27.00±5.69)μmol/L vs (13.20±3.04)μmol/L, P<0.05]. In treat?ment group, plasma concentration of free L-carnitine was significantly higher after treatment than that of pre-therapy [(14.87 ± 3.95)μmol/L,P<0.05]. Compared with the control group, there was a significantly lower plasma concentration of cTnI after treatment in treatment group [(0.025±0.006)μg/L vs (0.046±0.010)μg/L, P<0.05]. In the treatment group, there was a significant correlation between decreased plasma concentration of cTnI and increased plasma concentration of free L-carnitine (r=0.899, P<0.05). Conclusion Administration of L-carnitine can effectively decrease the abnormal plasma lev?el of cTnI in neonates with myocardial injury caused by asphyxia, and thereby protect the myocardium.

AlM: To study the effects of different concentrations of Coix seed oil on human retinal capillary endothelial cells ( HRCECs ) proliferation and vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF) expression in high glucose environment.
METHODS: HRCECs extracted from human fresher eyeball and cultured in vitro, and ultimately used in the experiment were the growth of 3rd ~ 4th cells, the experimental were divided into blank control group, low glucose control group, high glucose control group, high glucose + ( 50ü L/mL, 100ü L/mL, 200ü L/mL ) different concentrations Coix seed oil group. Detecting the multiplication of HRCECs by MTT, the immunocytochemical method was employed to detect the each group HRCECs of VEGF expression.
RESULTS:MTT assay results showed that: different concentrations of coix seed oil acted at HRCECs for 48h, inhibition of cell proliferation was significant difference compared with high glucose control group (P<0. 05). Within 48h showed concentration dependence. There was no statistical difference between the low glucose group and high glucose control group (P>0. 05). lmmunocytochemical assay showed that:50ü L/mL, 100ü L/mL, 200ü L/mL Coix seed oil acted at HRCECs 48h, the expression of VEGF decreased significantly compared with the high glucose control group ( P< 0. 05 ), and in a dose- dependent manner. However, in high glucose control group, the expression of VEGF was obvious higher than that of low glucose control group (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSlON:Coix seed oil can inhibit the HRCECs proliferation and suppress the VEGF expression in high glucose environment.

Background The application of femtosecond laser in the corneal refractive surgery has made great progression recent years,but the morphology characteristic of corneal stroma surface after making-flap of femtosecond laser is closely concerned.Objective This study was to analyze the influence of photodisrnption of femtosecond laser on the corneal stroma surface and to investigate the effect of different laser pulse energy on the sudace ultrastructure of corneal stroma.Methods Corneal flaps were made with Visu Max femtosecond laser in 16 fresh porcine eyes with the pulse energy 125 nJ,155 nJ and 195 nJ respectively,and Moria-M2 microkeratome was used as control.Scanning electron microscopy (S-3400N Hitachi High-Technologies Corp) was used to observe and compare the ultrastructural characteristic of corneal stroma bed surface after making of corneal flap.Results The corneal strnma was evaporated and created a smooth surface when photodisrnption happened in the femtosecond laser group.Residual tissue bridges could been exhibited among the cavitation bubbles under the scanning electron microscope.Corneal strnma surface was smooth in the 125 nJ pulse energy group,but some tissue bridges still were visible.In the 155 nJ pulse energy group,much more smooth surface was seen without tissue bridges and mechanical damages on the corneal surface.However,the surface quality was worse and many tissue bridges and grooves existed in the 195 nJ pulse energy group.In addition,different sizes of slots caused by big cavitation bubbles were visible with the round and oval shape.The edges were regular and sharp with small damage zone after cutting with femtoseeond laser.However,many elevated fibril tissues could be seen on the corneal surface after making of flap with microkeratome.Many crimp and irregularity tissues were found on the surface.Blunt surface and indentations appeared in the cutting edge.Conclusions The mierostrueture of corneal stroma surface is more smoother after making of corneal flap with fentosecond laser in comparison with microkeratome.Pulse energy of 155 nJ is preferably during the making-flap with femtosecond laser.
