Objective To explore the relationship between serum advanced glycation end products(AGEs) levels in gestation diabetic mother(GDM) and cardiovascular function of newborn infants. Methods Sixty mid-gestation GDM and 72 late-gestation GDM fulfilling the inclusion criteria were recruited,72 mid-gestation and 80 late-gestation mothers with no pregnancy complications were collected as controls.Fasting blood glucose and serum AGEs levels were analyzed in each group.Clinical data of GDM and their babys were collected.Accor-ding to cardiovascular function of neonates, these neonates were divided into 2 groups:normal neonate group with normal cardiovascular function and anormal neonate group with anormal cardiovascular function.Maternal serum AGEs levels, blood glucose between mid-gestation groups and late-gestation groups were compared.Factors which affected the prevalence of complications of fetal outcome in GDM were analyzed. Results 1.Mid-gestation and late-gestation GDM groups had higher serum AGEs levels and fasting blood glucose compared with those of their respective controls(Pa0.05).3.Abnormal fetal outcome in GDM had significantly higher maternal serum AGEs levels than that in controls with normal fetal outcome(P

7.5). Overall, the research demonstrates the effect of environmental parameters (temperature and carbon source) on AHL profile production by food-derived Pseudomonas. It lays the foundation for further investigation to elucidate the relationship between quorum sensing and food spoilage, and for the development of new food preservative by blocking the quorum sensing of food spoilage bacteria.

Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
Three Gram-negative bacteria from commercial fresh fish were identified as Pseudomonas sp.,an important food spoilage bacteria, on the basis of 16S rDNA sequences.N-aeyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs) were the important quorum sensing molecules and regulated the expression of many characteristics in a cell-density-dependent manner in Gram-negative bacteria. The AHL biosensor detection revealed that three isolates produced AHLs molecules and strains FML05-1 and FML05-2 produced two types of AHLs at least and the main signal mole- cules were N-3-oxo-octanoyl-homoserine lactone(N-3-oxo-C_8-AHL).ALso the amount of AHL in FML05-2 reached to the maximum at 12h throughout growth. This was first study of quorum sensing signal molecule AHLs produced by the pseudomonas from food and layed the foun- dation for new strategies of food preservation based on interfering in quorum sensing of spoilage bacteria.

Objective To explore the protective effect of L-carnitine on neonates with myocardial injury caused by as?phyxia. Methods Forty-four neonates with myocardial injury caused by asphyxia were randomly divided into L-carnitine treatment group (21 cases) and control group (23 cases). Patients in control group were received routine treatment and pa?tients in treatment group were given L-carnitine 0. 1 g/(kg · d) on the basis of routine treatment for 7 days. Symptoms and physical signs were observed before therapy and during the treatment in two groups. Before and after the treatment, plasma levels of free L-carnitine and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) were detected with the method of colorimetric assay and chemilumi?nescent, respectively. Results The clinical effective rate was significantly higher in treatment group than that of control group (90.48%vs 60.87%, P<0. 05). Compared with the control group, there was a significantly higher plasma concentra?tion of free L-carnitine in treatment group after treatment [(27.00±5.69)μmol/L vs (13.20±3.04)μmol/L, P<0.05]. In treat?ment group, plasma concentration of free L-carnitine was significantly higher after treatment than that of pre-therapy [(14.87 ± 3.95)μmol/L,P<0.05]. Compared with the control group, there was a significantly lower plasma concentration of cTnI after treatment in treatment group [(0.025±0.006)μg/L vs (0.046±0.010)μg/L, P<0.05]. In the treatment group, there was a significant correlation between decreased plasma concentration of cTnI and increased plasma concentration of free L-carnitine (r=0.899, P<0.05). Conclusion Administration of L-carnitine can effectively decrease the abnormal plasma lev?el of cTnI in neonates with myocardial injury caused by asphyxia, and thereby protect the myocardium.

Objective To evaluate and analyze the postoperative complications induced from the procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids(PPH).Methods The data of the third or fourth degree hemorrhoids operated by pro- cedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids were analyzed. Results Total 224 patients with hemorrhoids were operated on by PPH,and the mean operative time was 25 minutes and mean postoperative hospital stay were 3.5 days.Postoper- ative bleeding requiring haemostatic procedures occurred in two patients.Urine retention rate was 30.36%,there were 56 eases pain scores>5,there of re-prolapse,16 cases of residual skin tags. One case of mucocele. Conclusion The rule of PPH is individual management.
