Objective To explore the prevalence and its influencing factors on mental disorders in older people after falling in a community from Guangzhou city. Methods 184 people over 60years of age had ever fallen within the past year in a community, were investigated by structured interview survey on their mental disorders in Guangzhou, with the impact of event scale(IES)and fear fall scale(FFS). Another 56 people over the age of 60 had never fallen at the same time were selected as controls. Data was analyzed by classification tree and logistic regression analysis. Results IES score showed that there were 8.2% older people suffering from PTSD after falling (average score 16.07 ± 9.52). People who were at older age, with either bad eyesight or hearing, having had injury or decreased activity had higher scores. Results from classification tree analysis showed that decreased activity and helped by others after falling were risk factors of PTSD while not having decreased activity was protective factor. FFS score showed that 58.2% of the older people suffering from FFS after falling(average score 22.29± 10.25), people who were at older age, having had bad eyesight or hearing, not living with spouse or children etc. had higher scores while Classification Tree Analysis showed that factors as decreased activity or older than 80 years of age were at risk of FFS. People who did not have decreased activity or their IES score was nine or lower were protective factors. Data from thc logistic regression analysis showed that raised by others after falling(OR=6.20,95%CI: 1.32-29.12)were risk factors of PTSD while older age(OR=4.62,95%CI:1.80-11.83; OR = 4.06,95%CI: 1.39-11.87), injury(OR= 6.26,95%CI: 2.60-15.09), higher IES score (OR=8.75,95%CI: 3.53-21.70; OR= 11.98,95%CI: 3.88-37.02)and decreased activity(OR=5.26,95%CI: 2.29-12.06)were risk factors of FFS. Conclusion There had been a high incidence of mental disorders after falling among the elderly. Older age and decreased activity were the risk factors in this study.

OBJECTIVETo explore the current application and features of Aconite prescriptions with incompatible herbs in grade A class three hospitals in east China and central China through a clinical study and comparative analysis.
METHODClinical prescriptions containing Aconite with incompatible herbs were collected. Association rules were utilized to analyze the compatible features of these herbs.
RESULTThis analysis found that the frequently used incompatible herba; pairs are Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata-Pinelliae Rhizoma, with the support rate of 44.45%, occupying nearly half of the surveyed prescriptions; Pinelliae Rhizoma is the most frequently used herb in the two areas, with support rate up to 76.24%. Among the top 10 herbal pairs in the support rate, except for Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata and Pinelliae Rhizoma, the top 10 herbs in Central China were mostly for warming the middle jiao and tonifying qi, such as Zingiberis Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma and Codonopsis Radix; Whereas those in east China were mostly for activating and nourishing blood, such as Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, and Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. Among the top 10 herbal pairs in the support rate, except for Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata-Pinelliae Rhizoma, the core herbal pairs applied in central China were mainly for resolving phlegm and warming the middle jiao, such as Pinelliae Rhizoma-Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Pinelliae Rhizoma-Zingiberis Rhizoma; Whereas those in east China were principally for activating blood and tonifying qi, like Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma and Pinelliae Rhizoma, Angelicae Sinensis Radix and Pinelliae Rhizoma. Among the core herbal groups in the two areas, the most frequently used herbal groups in the two areas are Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and Pinelliae Rhizoma with the support rate of 59.73%, accounting for the highest proportion among all of herbal groups.
CONCLUSIONThere are the combined clinical application of Aconite with incompatible herbs, mostly with Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata-Pinelliae Rhizoma, but with differences in the combined application in east China and central China.

Objective To investigate the low-dose hyper-radiosensitivity (HRS)/induced radioresistance (IRR) in A549 cells synchronized at G2 phase and the role of ATM kinase in the process. Methods Human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 was synchronized at G2 phase by aphidicolin. The ATM-specific activator and inhibitor, chloroquine and KU55933,were used to regulate the activity of ATM.The colony formation assay was used to evaluate cell survival.Flow cytometry was used to determine the cell cycle of radiation-exposed A549 cells synchronized at G2 phase.Immunofluorescence was used to observe the dynamics of γ-H2AX fluorescence and evaluate the efficiency of DNA repair in A549 cells synchronized at G2 phase.Western blot was used to detect the expression of phosphorylated ATM (Ser1981) and ATM.Results A549 cells synchronized at G2 phase had substantially enhanced HRS than non-synchronized cells. The dose-induced transition from HRS to 1RR was in accordance with the dose-response pattern of early G2/M checkpoint. However, with the same threshold dose, the activation of early checkpoint occurred earlier and lasted longer than normal. The activation of ATM kinase inhibited HRS and enhanced DNA repair, while the inhibition of ATM kinase enhanced HRS and hindered DNA repair. Conclusions ATM kinase-mediated early G2+M checkpoint is a molecular switch for HRS in synchronized A549 cells.Low-dose irradiation with G2-phase synchronization and ATM inhibitor can enhance the low-dose radiosensitivity.

Purpose To investigate the clinicopathological features of the adult rhabdomyoma (A-RM) in the oral and maxillofacial region. Methods Three cases of A-RM in the oral and maxillofacial region were analyzed for the clinical symptoms, imaging data, pathological features, differential diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis with the literatures review. Results The age arranged from 4 yea~ to 83 years in three A-RM cases. Two cases were male and one case was female. Two cases occurred in the mouth floor and one case in the tongue.Three A-RM cases presented as slowly growing, painless masses clinically. The masses were lobular,red-brown nodules with clear boundary.Histologically, they consisted of densely packed, large, round and polygonal cells with abundant granular eosinophilic cytoplasm.Cross striations and vacuoles were seen in the cytoplasm.Tumor cells expressed desmin and myoglobin, partially expressed SMA,MyoD1 and S-100 protein.PAS was also positive among tumor cells and could be digested by the diastasum diastace. Conclusion Histological examination is the main diagnostic basis for A-RM.For accurate diagnosis, cross striations and immunohistochemistry for myogenic proteins in cytoplasm are of pivotal importance.Radical resection is the main treatment with generally promising prognosis.
