Objective To investigate the primary angle-closure glaucoma iris weeks after cutting holes cut the width of the near future, long-term effect relationship, selected after close to long-term efficacy of the forecasting methods to improve iridectomy success rate. Methods 90 cases (116 eyes) with primary angle-closure glaucoma were randomly divided into three groups:A group(the width of the iris-week cut-hole cut 1.5mm) ,30 cases 42 eyes;B group(removal of the width of the iris weeks Ceccon 2 mm) ,30 cases 40 eyes;C group(the width of the iris-week cut-lole cut 3 mm) ,30 cases 34 eyes,after over 1 month,they were followed up to observe the intraocular pressure,anterior chamber angle width of the depth, depending on the features, the iris in recent weeks, as well as cutting holes,long-term concurrency disease. Results A:recent surgery success rate of 85.79% ,long-term surgical success rate of 76. 19% ;B group of recent surgery success rate of 87.5% ,long-term surgical success rate of 82.5% ;C group of recent surgery success rate of94.11% ,long-term surgical the success rate of 88.23%, X2 test the difference was significant(P＜ 0. 05) ;3 postoperative IOP decreased in varying degrees compared with the preoperative differences were significant(P＜0.01) ;peripheral angle after deep Random mean :A group of ≥ 1/3CT,compared the difference between before and after surgery were significantly( P ＜ 0.01 ) ;B group and C group ＞ 1/2CT,2 groups were compared before and after surgery the difference was highly significant( P ＜ 0.05 ). Conclusion Iridectomy was the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma safe and effective method of cutting holes. The width of the iris weeks to 2～3 mmwas appropriate, beneficial to control the iris weeks before the adhesion and angle-cut hole shallow narrowing.

AIMTo search for potential anti-atherosclerosis drugs with vascular relaxation activity, a series of agonists of endothelial targets were designed and synthesized.

METHODSCoupling N-methyl-1,2, 3,6-tetrahydrapyridine ring system with 3,4-dibenzenesulfonyl-1,2,5-oxadiazole-2-oxide through esterification or amidation, a series of arecoline derivatives containing NO donors were designed and synthesised.

RESULTSA novel series of compounds structurally related to arecoline have been prepared, the proposed structures of eighteen new compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR, MS spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The effects of the target compounds on the vasodilation activity were tested in the isolated preparation of mice thoratic aorta.

CONCLUSIONThis preliminary pharmacological tests showed that the candidates have good vasodilation activities and were worthy to be intensively studied.

OBJECTIVETo explore the mechanisms of Qianjing Decoction in the treatment of oligoasthenospermia (OAS).

METHODSWe randomly divided 100 SPF male rats into five groups of equal number: normal, model, Huangjingzanyu, levocarnitine, and Qiangjing. OAS models were established in the animals followed by intragastrical administration of normal saline, ornidazole, Huangjingzanyu Capsules (200 mg per kg body weight per day), levocarnitine (100 mg per kg body weight per day), and Qianjing Decoction (10 g per kg body weight per day), respectively, qd, for 4 successive weeks. Then, we detected the concentration and motility of the epididymal sperm, obtained the contents of superoxide dismutase (SOD), malonaldehyde (MDA), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), α-glucosidase, and fructose in the epididymis, and determined the mRNA expressions of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) in the epididymal tissue of the rats by real-time PCR.

RESULTSThe concentration and motility of the epididymal sperm in the model, Huangjingzanyu, levocarnitine, and Qianging groups were (35.34 ± 4.22) x 10(6)/ml and (40.04 ± 7.05)%, (48.12 ± 5.56) x 10(6)/ml and (62.46 ± 7.12)%, (47.14 ± 4.87) x 10(6)/ml and (63.23 ± 6.34)%, and (50.25 ± 5.08) x 10(6)/ml and (66.34 ± 7.58)%, respectively, all significantly lower than in the normal group ([53.05 ± 4.55] x 10(6)/ml and [70.20 ± 8.54]%) (P < 0.05), but remarkably higher in the Huangjingzanyu, levocarnitine, and Qiangjing groups than in the model rats (P < 0.05). Compared with the thinned epididymal lumen walls, decreased sperm count, and disorderly and loose arrangement of the lumens in the OAS models, the rats in the Huangjingzanyu, levocarnitine, and Qiangjing groups showed evidently thicker epididymal lumen walls, with the lumens full of sperm cells and arranged regularly and compactly, similar to those of the normal rats. The levels of SOD and GSH-Px were significantly lower but that of MDA markedly higher in the model rats ([84.12 ± 23.25], [10.56 ± 3.02], and [14.04 ± 2.06] nmol/mg) than in the normal group ([110.04 ± 19.56], [17.25 ± 3.56], and [8.87 ± 1.35] nmol/mg) (P < 0.05), while the former two indexes remarkably higher and the latter one significantly lower in the animals treated with Qiangjing Decoction ([120.56 ± 23.68], [16.34 ± 3.12], and [8.45 ± 1.56] nmol/mg), Huangjingzanyu Capsules ([115.34 ± 21.35], [15.23 ± 3.67], and [8.33 ± 1.54] nmol/mg), and levocarnitine ([116.67 ± 22.67], [15.35 ± 3.45], and [8.05 ± 1.78] nmol/mg) than in the models (P < 0.05). The levels of fructose, LDH and α-glucosidase were decreased markedly in the OAS models ([100.22 ± 12.12] mg/[ ml x g], [322 ± 46.13] U/[ ml x g], and [10.48 ± 2.33] U/[ml x g]) as compared with the normal rats ([128.12 ± 13.45] mg/[ml x g], [428 ± 35.12] U/[ml x g], and [15.34 ± 3.12] U/[ ml x g]) (P < 0.05), remarkably higher in the rats treated with Qiangjing ([130.23 ± 13.67] mg/[ml x g] [455 ± 51.50] U/[ml x g], and [18.56 ± 4.67] U/[ml x g]), Huangjingzanyu ([124.16 ± 14.02] mg/[ml x g], [ 419 ± 43.14] U/[ml x g], and [17.64 ± 4.08] U/[ml x g]), and levocarnitine ([123.34 ± 14.02] mg/[ml x g], [430 ± 31.80] U/ [ml x g], and [16.85 ± 5.55] U/[ml x g]) than in the models (P < 0.05). The Nrf2 mRNA expression was significantly reduced in the models as compared with the normal rats (P < 0.05) but remarkably increased in the Huangingzanyu, Qiangjing and levocarnitine groups as compared with the model and normal animals (P < 0.05). The SDH mRNA expression was significantly lower in the model than in the normal rats (P < 0.05) but markedly elevated in the Huangjingzanyu, Qiangjing and levocarnitine groups as compared with the model and normal animals (P < 0.05), remarkably higher in the Qiangjing than in the Huangjingzanyu group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONOrnidazole induces OAS in rats, which is closely associated with excessive oxidation and energy metabolism dysfunction. Qiangjing Decoction can improve and even reverse ornidazole-induced OAS in rats as well as improve the ultrastructure of their testicular and epididymal tissues. Antioxidation and improvement of energy metabolism are probably the action mechanisms of Qiangjing Decoction in the treatment of OAS.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the significance of expression of p53, Mdm2 and p21WAF/ CIP1 proteins and their relationships. METHODS Pathological specimens from thyroid carcinoma, adjacent non-tumor thyroid tissues and thyroid benign lesions were examined for p53, Mdm2 and p21WAF/CIP1 proteins by tissue microarray technique and immunohistochemistry method. ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy about the different wearing manner with Milwaukee and Boston for the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS).MethodsRetrospectively summarization and analysis was performed in 85 adolescent patients with idiopathic scoliosis who were treated from February 2004 to March 2009.The skeletal growth of them had not completed.There were 57 cases who received brace treatment.In them,28 were treated with (CTLSO) Milwaukee brace,and the rest were treated with (TLSO) Boston brace and orthopedic gymnastics.The 30 cases wear regularly used for 21 to 23hours per day,and 27 cases could consist on wearing only 6 to 15 hours per day.The other 28 cases of 85AIS cases were only treated with orthopedic gymnastics instead of orthosis treatment.All patients were periodically observed with lateral side (X)-ray photograph at standing position and photograph,and Cobb angle and Risser sign were measured every 3 to 6 months.Since 2008 all adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients treated with orthosis were requested to fill with simplified Chinese SRS-22.Results73 cases adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients were followed up for 2 ～5 years [ mean(26.3 ± 33.7)months ].Milwaukee orthosis group showed the regular wearing group had 91.67 ％ ( 11/12) effective rate and the intermittent wearing group had 56.25％ (9/16) effective rate and the group without wearing orthosis only had 20％ (4/20)effective rate.The group regularly wearing Milwaukee brace had superior effect than the other two groups (P ＜ 0.05 ).Boston orthosis group showed the regular wearing group had 88.89％ (16/18) effective rate and the intermittent wearing group had 54.55％ (6/11 ) effective rate and the group without wearing brace with 25％ (2/8) effective rate.The group regularly wearing Boston brace had better effect than the other two groups ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Due to the different choice of AIS patients and orthosis,the effective rate of the Milwaukee and Boston orthosis was not compared.ConclusionsThe adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients should insist on regularly wearing brace regardless of the Milwaukee or Boston orthosis ( this article suggest that the wearing time should not less than 21 ～ 23 h/d).The group regularly wearing with the Milwaukee or Boston orthosis had better effect than the intermittent group or the group without wearing brace.It's a good treatment for the AIS patients who have with the indication of orthosis treatment.

OBJECTIVEUsing methods of clinical scale assessment and cerebral functional imaging to compare the relative specificity of needling acupoints Baihui (DU20), Shuigou (DU26) and Shenmen (HT7) in intervening vascular dementia (VD) in different areas in the brain.

METHODSFifty patients with VD were randomized into 5 groups. Needling on conventionally used acupoints of hand and foot three Yang-meridians aiming at hemiplegia was applied to the patients in Group A, and needling on DU20 to Group B, on DU26 to Group C, on HT7 to Group D and on all the three to Group E was applied additionally. Assessments of Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Family Attitude Questionnaire (FAQ) were made. And the positron emission computerized tomography (PET) and single photon emission computerized tomography (SPECT) examinations were conducted in 5 selected patients from each group before and after treatment.

RESULTSNeedling on conventional acupoints plus DU20 could effect the inner temporal system, thalamencephalon system and prefrontal cortical system to improve memory and executive capacity of VD patients; conventional acupoints plus DU26 could effect more to the prefrontal cortical system to obviously elevate the executive capacity; that plus HT7 would reveal an effect similar to but rather weaker than plus DU20, and effect more to memory; and that plus all the three simultaneously could effect rather roundly multiple aspects of the nervous system related to intellectual activities, to elevate the recognition and enhance the executive capacity.

CONCLUSIONNeedling on various acupoints like DU20, DU26 and HT7 have effects on different brain areas.

Neuritin is a new neurotrophic factor found recently. In order to identify the function of Neuritin clearly, the coding sequence of human neuritin was amplified by PCR from neuritin cDNA , this fragment digested by NocI and NotI was inserted into pET32a by T4 ligase and transformed into E. coli BL21 then the recombinant plasmid named pET32a-neuritin was constructed successfully . Neuritin was expressed distinctly after inducing by EPTG. The product was identified as neuritin by SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis . The expression production was purified on Ni2+-NTA column.
