Objective To observe the effect of Ro 20-1724 on social interaction ability of developing rats after repeated ketamine anesthesia.Methods 32 rats with 21 days old were randomly divided into four groups,control group (C group),ketamine group (K group),ketamine + Ro 20-1724 group (K + R group),ketamine + ethanol group (K + E group).Ethanol was used as a solvent of Ro 20-1724.Ketamine 70 mg· kg-1 was intraperitoneal injected,30 min later,to give or not give Ro 20-1724 0.5 mg · kg-1 or equivalent ethanol solvent for once each day for seven consecutive days.Then the rats were fed for three days.On the fourth day after the last administration,the social interaction ability were assessed in all rats.The expression of brain-derived neurotropic factor (BDNF) in hippocampal CA1 region was detected using conventional ELISA.Results Comparing with rats in C group,the time spent on the cage of lifeless body ((60 ± 29) min vs (109 ± 33) min,P ＜ 0.01),unfamiliar rats (103 ±35)min vs (151 ±42)min,P＜0.01;((123 ±34)min vs (184 ±46) min,P＜0.05) and familiar rats (89 ± 25) min vs (140 ± 38) min,P ＜ 0.01) in the social interaction test was significantly less in K group.The time spent significantly prolonged in group K + R,comparing with K group (lifeless body:(94 ± 34) min vs (60 ±29) min,P＜0.01) ;unfamiliar rat 1:(140 ±41) min vs (103 ±35)min,P＜0.05) ;unfamiliar rat 2:(171 ±45)min vs (123 ±34)min,P＜0.01) ; familiar rat:(133 ±35)min vs (89 ±25) min,P＜0.01).And there was no difference between K group and K + N group (P ＞ 0.05).The expression of BDNF in hippocampal CA1 region was significantly lower in K group,comparing with C group ((8.6 ± 2.7) ng/ml vs (11.8 ± 2.4) ng/ml,P ＜0.01) ; and there was a significant increase in K + R group,comparing with K group ((10.1 ± 3.6) ng/ml vs (8.6 ± 2.7) ng/ml,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Ro 20-1724 significant rescued social interaction impairment induced by ketamine anesthesia in developing rats.And BDNF in hippocampal CA1 region contribute to the reversal process.

Objective To study the cause and treatment of chronic instability of the elbow.Methods Between August 1998 and August 2002,12 patients with chronic instability of the elbow were treated in our de- partment:They underwent complete medical check-ups and imaging examinations.Surgical exploration was done to determine the causes of their conditions.Their radial and(or)ulnar collateral ligaments were repaired respectively or simultaneously through the medial and lateral approaches for all the patients.All the patients were followed up for two to six years,with an average of three years.Results The follow-ups revealed no recurrent dislocation of elbow in this group.The stress valgus test and lateral pivot shift test(PST)were negative for all the patients.No elbow pain occurred.The mean flexion and extension of elbow ranged from 0 to 135?.The mean pronation was 85?and mean supination 80?.According the evaluation system of Chinese Medical Association,eight cases were rated as excellent and four as fine,with the excellent and fine rate of 100%.Conclusions Lesions of radial and(or) ulnar collateral ligaments are the major cause for chronic instability of the elbow.Surgical reconstruction of the collateral ligaments can obtain good effects in treatment of recurrent dislocation of the elbow.

ObjectiveTo study the speciality of hemodynamics in middle cerebral artery(MCA) by means of transcranial color Doppler ultrasound(TCCD) at different tilting angles in patients with cervical and thoracic spinal cord injury.Methods48 patients with spinal cord injury were involved. The velocity of peak systolic(PSV), end diastolic(EDV) and mean velocity(MV) of MCA on the tiltable at 0°,30°,60°,80° were measured.ResultsThere was no significant difference in PSV between 0°and 30°(P>0.05), while EDV and MV showed very significant (P<0.01)from 0°to 30°,60°and 80° position. From 0°to 60°,80°,there were differences not only at EDV and MV, but also PSV(P<0.01).ConclusionThe velocities of MCA were changed at different tilting angles in the patients with spinal cord injury.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical effects and operative options for the treatment of Forestier disease.

METHODSFrom June 2005 to May 2012, 8 patients with progressive dysphagia due to Forestier disease were treated through anterior approach, their clinical data were retrospective analyzed. There were 6 males and 2 females, aged from 65 to 83 years old with an average of 73 years. Among the patients, osteophytes removal was performed in 3 cases, osteophytes removal with discectomy and fusion was performed in 2 cases, osteophytes removal with corpectomy and fusion was performed in 3 cases. According to Bazaz dysphagia score to assess the improvement of the patients' symptoms before and after operation.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 12 to 40 months with the mean of 18.5 months. Seven cases were asymptomatic and 1 case had mild symptom in the last follow-up. Radiographs showed the space enlargement between vertebral body and trachea.

CONCLUSIONIt is effective to treat patients with progressive dysphagia due to Forestier disease through surgical method. And the operative options depend on the stability of cervical spine and the neurological symptoms of the patients.

OBJECTIVETo explore effectiveness and safety of segmental anterior cervical decompression in treating multi-level cervical myelopathy.

METHODSTwenty-four patients with four levels of cervical myelopathy were treated with segmental anterior cervical decompression (reservation of middle vertebrae, bone graft and plate-screws fixation). Among patients, there were 15 males and 9 females aged from 47 to 75 (averaged 57.9) years old. Preoperative, postoperative at 1 week and the latest following-up AP and lateral X-rays were used to observe bone union, displacement of implant, adjacent segment degeneration, changes of Cobb angle of fusion segment. JOA scoring were applied for evaluate recovery of nerve function.

RESULTSAll operations were completed successfully, 2 cases ocurred hoarseness, and improved after treated symptomatically. Nineteen patients were followed up from 3.1 to 5.3 years with an average of 3.9 years. Bone union time ranged from 3 to 7 (averaged 4.5) months. No screw loosening and displacement occurred. Nine patients occurred titanium mesh subsidence in different degrees, and 4 of them subside >3 mm; four patients ocurred adjacent segment degeneration. Postoperative Cobb angle of fusion segment at 1 week (10.40±2.94)° was improved from preoperative (5.76±4.16)°, but decreased at the latest follow-up (8.57±2.82)°, and had significant meaning compared with preoperative (P<0.01). JOA score at the latest follow-up (14.6±1.1) was higher than that of before operation (8.2±1.9), and had siginificant differences (P<0.01).

CONCLUSIONSegmental anterior cervical decompression for the treatment of multilevel cervical myelopathy has a high clinical operability, and plays an important role in recovering cervical curvature and nerve function based on completely decompression.

ObjectiveTo investigate the application of rapid immunohistochemical staining technique in intraoperative frozen section diagnosis of thyroid neoplasm.Methods MaxVision one-step rapid immunohistochemical staining technique was used to detect the expression of CK19,HBME-1,and Gal-3 in frozen section of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC)andthyroid benign lesions.MaxVision conventional immunohistochemistry of frozen remaining tissue was served as control.ResultsMaxVision one-step rapid immunohistochemical staining technique could be completed in 20 minutes.The positive localizations of three markers detected by rapid immunohistochemistry were similar to conventional immunohistochemistry, in general.The expression of CK19 was located in cytoplasm and cellular membrane.Gal-3 and HBME-1 were mainly detected in follicular luminal border and/or surface of papilla. The staining intensity in rapid immunohistochemistry was stronger than that in conventional immunohistochemistry. The positive rates of CK19,HBME-1,and Gal-3 by rapid immunohistochemistry in frozen sections were: 0 (0/28),10.7 ％ (3/28),0 (0/28),respectively,for benign lesions (nodular goiter,Hashimoto thyroiditis,thyroid adenoma); and 94.9 ％(37/39),92.3 ％ (36/39),92.3 ％ (36/39),respectively,for PTC.The expression of three markers between thyroid benign lesions and PTC had a significant difference (x2 =59.326,55.861,44.605,all P ＜ 0.001).In benign lesions,the rate of same case with two and more positive markers was 0,while in PTC it was 100 ％ and significantly different (x2 =67.000,P ＜ 0.05).ConclusionMaxVision one-step rapid immunohistochemical staining technique could be applied in intraoperative frozen section diagnosis.Detecting CK19,HBME-1,and Gal-3 expression in intraoperative frozen section has an auxiliary value for diagnosis of PTC.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of endemic fluorosis in Guide county of Qinghai province, in order to provide appropriate measures to monitor and control the disease. Methods Damo, Wenquan, Baoning villages(water source has been changed) and Taiping village(water source has not been changed) in Guide county were involved in the study in 2008. One tap water sample was collected in dry and rainy seasons, respectively. Water fluoride was tested in accordance with the "Standard Test Methods for Drinking Water" (GB/T 5750.5-2006); of all the children aged 8 to 12, dental fluorosis was diagnosed using Dean criteria; 6 copies of urine samples were collected in each age group, urinary fluoride was measured using fluoride ion-selective electrode (WS/T 89-1996). According to the "Clinical Diagnostic Criteria of Endemic Skeletal Fluorosis "(WS 192-2008), clinical skeletal fluorosis was determined in adults over the age of 16 by X-ray examination for 10 people in each selected village. Results The mean water fluoride was 0.58,0.38,2.28,0.37 mg/L in Damo, Wenquan, Taiping, and Baoning villages, respectively, and that of Taiping village exceeded the national standard(1.0 mg/L). One hundred and ninety-three children aged 8-12 were checked, the detection rate of dental fluorosis was 49.74% (96/193); urine samples of 116 children were tested, median urinary fluoride was 1.49 mg/L A total of 1503 adults over the age of 16 were examined, the clinical detection of skeletal fluorosis was 51.63%(776/1503); a total of 82 people were X-rayed, X-ray detection of skeletal fluorosis was 20.73%(17/82). The characteristic of X-rays were degeneration and ossification of interosseous membrane. Conclusions Prevalence of dental fluorosis of children and adult clinical skeletal fluorosis are higher. The endemic fluorosis is still comparatively serious. Prevention efforts need to be further strengthened.

Objective: To compare the risk angle and safety angle of needling Yamen (GV 15) between the atlanto-axial dislocation (AAD) patients and healthy subjects. Methods: A total of 177 AAD patients diagnosed and treated at the Center of Upper Cervical Vertebra of Beijing China-Japan Friendship Hospital between January 2010 and January 2018 were included in the AAD group. Another 207 healthy subjects were included in the normal group. There were totally 191 males and 193 females. The MRI scan was performed for the cervical vertebrae to measure the risk angle and safety angle of acupuncture at Yamen (GV 15) on the sagittal image. Results: In the AAD group, the risk angle was (13.14±3.99)° and the relative safety angle was (10.31±3.23)° for the perpendicular needling, while the oblique needling risk angle was (9.09±3.09)° for the male; the risk angle was (12.12±2.74)° and the relative safety angle was (10.56±2.09)° for the perpendicular needling, while the oblique needling risk angle was (9.70±2.95)° for the female. In the normal group, the risk angle was (7.89±1.59)° and the relative safety angle was (10.21±3.55)° for the perpendicular needling, while the oblique needling risk angle was (16.07±1.77)° for the male; the risk angle was (6.93±1.45)° and the relative safety angle was (10.70±2.94)° for the perpendicular needling, while the oblique needling risk angle was (14.89±2.18)° for the female. The perpendicular needling risk angles for the males and females in the AAD group were larger than those in the normal group, and the differences were statistically significant (bothP<0.01); for the inner-group comparison, there was no significant difference in the perpendicular needling risk angle between the male and the female in the AAD group (P>0.05); however, the perpendicular needling risk angle for the male was larger than the female, and the difference was statistically significant in the normal group (P<0.01). There were no significant differences in the relative safety angle for both the male and the female between the AAD group and the normal group (bothP>0.05). For the inner-group comparison, there was no significant difference in the relative safety angle between the male and the female (P>0.05). The oblique needling risk angles for both the males and females were smaller in the AAD group than those in the normal group, and the differences were statistically significant (bothP<0.01); the oblique needling risk angle for the male was not significantly different from that for the female in the AAD group (P>0.05); in the normal group, the oblique needling risk angle for the male was larger than that for the female, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: Under the AAD condition, the risk angle and safety angle of acupuncture at Yamen (GV 15) change significantly, perpendicular needling should be better if performed slightly lower than the horizontal direction, and the oblique needling should be safer across the occipital foramen toward the occipital bone.

To offer the reference and method for salt damage in the cultivation of Marsdenia tenacissima, the seeds of M. tenacissima collected from Maguan city ( Yunnan province) were taken as the test materials to study the effects of different priming materials on improving germination and growth under high-level salt stress condition. Four different treatments, which were GA3, KNO3-KH2PO4, PEG-6000, NaCl, combined with ANOVA were applied to test the performance of germination energy, germination percentage, germination index, MDA, SOD, and CAT. The results showed that the seed germination was obviously inhibited under salt stress and the soaked seeds with different priming materials could alleviate the damage of salt stress. Under these treatments, the activities of SOD, CAT the content of soluble protein significantly increased. While the content of MDA significantly decreased. The maximum index was obtained when treated with 1.20% KNO3-KH2PO4, the germination percentage increased from 52.67% to 87.33% and the activity of SOD increased from 138.01 to 219.44 respectively. Comparing with the treatment of 1.20% KNO3-KH2PO4, the germination percentage of treating with 300 mg x L(-1) GA3 increased from 52.67% to 80.67%, while the activity of SOD increased from 138.01 to 444.61.
