1.Therapeutic Study on Scalp Acupuncture plus Body Acupuncture for Diarrhea-predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;35(4):405-407
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of scalp acupuncture plus body acupuncture in treating diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (D-IBS). Method Totally 122 D-IBS patients were randomized into a scalp acupuncture group (41 cases), a body acupuncture group (41 cases), and a combined group (40 cases). The scalp acupuncture group was intervened by acupuncture at the Stomach and Intestine Zones on the head; the body acupuncture group was by ordinary body acupuncture; the combined group was by both scalp acupuncture and body acupuncture. The symptom score of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was evaluated prior to the treatment, at the end of the first and second treatment courses, and after the whole intervention; the clinical efficacies were also compared among the three groups. Result The symptom scores of the combined group were significantly lower than that of the scalp acupuncture group and body acupuncture group respectively at the end of the second treatment course and after the whole intervention (P<0.05); after the whole intervention, the cured and markedly-effective rate was 62.5% in the combined group, significantly higher than 24.4% in the scalp acupuncture group and 29.3% in the body acupuncture group (P<0.05). Conclusion Scalp acupuncture plus body acupuncture can produce a satisfactory clinical efficacy in treating D-IBS, better than body acupuncture or scalp acupuncture alone; its advantages include rapid onset of action, significant effect, and reducing intestinal inflammation, etc.

With the rapid development of network technology, the data sharing and health research provides an efficient and convenient way for medical research and clinical guidance. In order to know patients' opinions on informed consent and data sharing,we investigated first-class hospitals in the coastal and inland areas with a total of 397 patients participating the questionnaire on clinical health and data sharing, reusing the remaining clinical blood samples in scientific researches, and the acceptance degree of broad consent investigation and related influencing factors. It was found that patients with strong consciousness of informed consent right tended to choose a simpler way of informed consent based on the analysis.Patients preferred social benefits than personal benefits with a strong spirit of dedication to the community.Medical institutions in China rarely applied broad consents and took relervant summative researhes, compared with the European and American countries' promotions at the national level. The research afforded the evidence, from most of patients' point of view to ethics committee in the review of such kind of studies to understand the public data sharing in privacy protection and broad consent of the individual opinion,in order to facilitate the rational development and promotion of health data sharing in China ethically.

Objective To establish a model to predict the cell-cycle process in response to ionizing radiation. Methods Human choroidal malignant melanoma 92-1 cells were used and the cell cycle distribution of cells was analyzed in 0-96 h after exposure to X-rays.A phenomenological model was constructed based on biological knowledge to describe the cell cycle dynamics in experiments. Results In the present study,a phenomenological model was constructed to describe the cellcycle dynamics of synchronized 92-1 cells in responding to various doses of ionizing radiation. The simulation results obtained with the model were consistent with the experimental data, demonstrating that the model had a good expansibility and could be used to predict the dynamics of cell cycle in responding to ionizing radiation.Further theoretical modeling of the cellcycle dynamics was made and the results were consistent with the simulation. Conclusions A phenomenological model was constructed which could be used to describe the dynamics of cell cycle of cells exposed to ionizing radiation and was supported by the experimental data.Because this model is easy to run by the written code,it has a good expansibility for studying the behaviors of cell populations under various conditions.

Objective To study the prevention and treatment of severe complications of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation(PRFA)for hepatic malignancy. Methods A series of 939 patients with primary hepatic carcinoma or hepatic metastasis confirmed by pathological examinations or clinical manifestations underwent 1098 treatments of PRFA between January 2006 and December 2009. All the patients were followed up to study the short-or long-term complications related to PRFA. Results Complications developed in 9 patients: bile duct injury (4 patients), hemothorax (2 patients), and intra-abdominal hemorrhage (3 patients). The incidence of complication was 0.82% (9/1098) and the complication-related mortality was 11.1% (1/9). Conclusions Although PRFA which is minimally invasive, is a safe and effective treatment, there were still risks for this procedure, especially when the tumor is located at the portahepatic region or the patient has coagulopathy. Some serious complications can be prevented. It is important to observe the strict indications for RFA and to carry out the procedure carefully. Early detection of complication is important.

A piece of news was introduced into pharmacology course examination.Students were asked to make comments on the news based on pharmacology knowledge or principles. All points of view were summarized and given back to the students after the examination. The right way to answer the question was discussed and a consensus on the answer was reached.lt was indicated that the teaching method in the trial is helpful for improvement of students' overall analytical skills.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(03):-
In this case-control study, the effect of insulin sensitivity on the genesis of cholesterol gallstones was not affirmed. However, raised 2h insulin level during glucose tolerance test and systolic blood pressure were risk factors in gallstone formation. Besides, less physical activity, lower serum total cholesterol and lower HDL-C concentration were found in patients with cholesterol gallstone.

Objective:To study the reversal effect of tamoxifen(TAM)on the expression of mdr1 in human pancreatic cancer cell lines. Methods:The inhibtion effect of TAM on pancreatic cancer cell line SW1999、Capan-Ⅱ and mammary cancer cell line T47D were studied; The influence of TAM on mdr1 protein/mRNA expression in SW1999、Capan-Ⅱ and T47D were studied using the method of flow cytometer and RT-PCR.Results:The high dose TAM could inhibit Capan-Ⅱ cell line.TAM could reverse the expression of mdr1 protein and mRNA in Capan-Ⅱ cell line and T47D cell line. Conclusion:The high dose TAM could inhibit Capan-Ⅱ cell line, maybe related with reduction of the expression of mdr1 protein and mRNA.
