Objective To compare the efficacy of mechanical ventilation (MV) with low tidal volume (LTV) plus positive expiratory end pressure (PEEP) and conventioal MV in the treatment of traumatic acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS). Methods From Oct 1997 to Oct 2003, 26 cases of traumatic ARDS patients were treated by conventioal MV(group A, n=11) or MV with LTV plus PEEP(group B,n=15), and clinical data of the patients were recorded and compared. 2.Epidemological Study on Hihg Risk Factos for Large Intestine Cancer in Loudi City

Objective To explore high risk factors of large instestine cancer in loudi city.Methods 132 cases of large intestine cancer of in-patients were reviewed from jan 1990 to Dec 2001,we used paired patients with non-alimentaly system disease as comparative studing group.Results By one way analysis (ANOVA method) of condition logistic regression showed that familial tumor,ulcerative colitis,intestinal polyp,schistosome infection,hormone substitution therapy etc diseases history,social-ecnomical situation,consumed fibre (fruits,vegetables),consumtions of friying meat treated with high temperature,salted fish and salted meat,frying food in oil,smoking≥35 years,physical training were all related to large intestine pathogenesis.Five risk factors were scrrened by condition logistics multiple factors,they were familial tumor histor,intake frying food in oil,smoking ≥35-age,number of calcium intake.Conclusion Large intestine pathogenesis in loudicyte were related to familiar tumor history,intake frying fook in oil,salted fish and salted meat consumption,smoking ≥35 years and number of calcium intake.

Objective To explore the changes of urinary deoxypyridinoline and its clinical significance in bedridden fracture-patients with long-term treatment. Posterior circulation iscbemia refers to the transient iscbemic attack and the cerebral infarction in vertebrobasilar artery system,its prognosis is not as good as anterior circulation ischemia,and its treatment is similar to that of anterior circulation ischemia.However,because of the mortality of basilar artery occlusion is higher,usually more aggressive treatment should be considered,such as thromholytic therapy(especially intra-arterial thromholysis)and endovas- cular therapy,and the therapeutic time window is much longer.This article reviews the treatment of anterior circulation ischemia.
5.Application of cystatin C as an efficacious marker of renal function in kidney transplant recipients

Objective To assss the clinical significance of Cystatin C(Cys C)as a marker of renal function in kidney transplant patients especially when infection or acute rejection occured.Methods Among 65 renal transplant recipients the concentrations of serum Cys C and serum creatinine(Scr)were determined before and one month after the transplantation,and also in the day and next day of occurrence of infection or rejection.Meanwhile,30 healthy persons and 30 infected patients without kidney transplantations were served as control.Results The concentrations of Cys C were nearly equal between healthy persons and the infected patients without kidney transplantations(P = 0.32).The level of serum Cys C and Scr dropped quickly in the first 3 days after transplantation(decreased by 69.2%,74.7%,75.8% for Cys C and 38.4%,74.5%,81.4% for Scr)(P

AIM:To study the action of nucleoside diphosphate kinase A(NDPK-A)on the growth of S_ 180,H_ 22,Lewis and H460.METHODS:S_ 180 or H_ 22 cell(5?106)were inoculate subcutaneously into the right armpit of 85 Kunming mice,which were randomized into 8 groups.Lewis lung carcinoma cells(2?105)were inoculate subcutaneously into the right armpit of 85 C57BL/6 mice,which were randomized as Kunming mice.From the 2nd day,the treated groups were given different dose of rhNDPK-A once a day for 8 days(for S_ 180 or H_ 22 by iv)or for 10 days(for Lewis by ip),and the control group was given physiological saline only.H460 tissue pieces about 1.5 mm?1.5 mm?1.5 mm each were inoculated subcutaneously into the armpit of 38 Balb/c/neu mice.After the volume of xenograft become 100 mm?100 mm?100 mm,the nude mice were randomized into 5 groups and given different dose of rhNDPK-A once a day for 17 days.2 days after above treatments,the mice were killed and dissected.The knubs were peeled off and weighted.RESULTS:The growth of S_ 180,H_ 22 and H460 were inhibited by rhNDPK and the growth of H_ 22 was inhibited by rhNDPK at dose of 20 mg/kg combined with cisplatin(0.5 mg/kg).But the growth of Lewis lung cancer was not inhibited.CONCLUSION:rhNDPK-A inhibited the growth of S_ 180,H_ 22 and H460.rhNDPK-A(20 mg/kg)potentiated the antitumor action of cisplatin on H_ 22.

Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) is a multi-potential growth factor whose biological activities depend on its receptor's intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity and second messengers such as the mitogen activated protein kinases. Heparin sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) have been demonstrated to enhance or inhibit bFGF activity. The response elicited by HSPG is related to the relative concentrations and binding kinetics for bFGF of the various pools of HSPG. The type of cellular response might depend on the specific HSPG and FGF receptor expressed on the cell surface. The specific core protein of HSPG, and tissue specific differences in heparin sulfate modification result in altered bFGF regulation.

10.The influence and mechanism of cisplatin on autophagy and proliferation of endometrial cancer

Objective To explore the effects of cisplatin on the proliferation and autophagy of endometrial carcinoma Ishikawa cells.Methods Ishikawa cell proliferation was detected by MTS assay after the cells were treated with CDDP.To assess the level of autophagy,transmission electron microscope and Western blot were used to detect LC3 and Beclin1 expression;fluorescence microscopy was used to observe the fluorescence aggregation of green fluorescent protein and microtubule associated protein 1 light chain 3 fusionprotein (GFP-LC3).Results Cisplatin of 10 g/mL inhibited the proliferation of Ishikawa cells,with an increase of time and concentration,the inhibition of cell proliferation was significantly elevated (P < 0.01).Transmission electron microscopy showed that under a condition of cisplatin on Ishikawa endometrial cancer cell,autophagy occurred.With an increase of concentration and dosage,Western blot showed that autophagy related protein LC3 expression was up-regulated,but becline-1 had no obvious change.LC3 expression level was higher in 12h-treatment with 20 μg/mL cisplatin group than in the control group,and was higher in 24h-treatment group than in 12h-treatment group.Conclusions Cisplatin inhibits proliferation of Ishikawa cells and induces autophagy of the cells in a time-and dose-dependent manner.Autophagy related MAP-LC3 is involved in the molecular mechanisms of autophagy induced by cisplatin in endometrial carciHom.
